Competition Name: The Perfect Date - 2006 Valentine's Day Art Contest
Competition End Date: Friday 3rd February 2006

It's almost time for February 14th, the date that cupids sling their arrows into the hearts of those we hold dear.  While Valentine's Day has never been the best day for Harry, we have a suspicion that it could be better this time around (that is, if Ginny has anything to say about it)!  And how about for Remus and Tonks and for our longest-suffering pair, Ron and Hermione?  What would a perfect date be for them?

We are calling all of our fabulous artists here at PhoenixSong – those whose artwork graces the pages of Plumage and all new artists who might be lurking out there – to take up the challenge and illustrate the perfect Valentine's Day date for our favorite pairs – Harry and Ginny, or Ron and Hermione, or Remus and Tonks.

The winner will have their work displayed on the Plumage main page throughout the month of March!

Submission period for artwork will run from January 23rd at 12 PM Pacific Time and end February 3rd at 12 PM Pacific Time.  As with our last contest, all site visitors are invited to vote for their favorites.  Public voting will run from February 5th at 12 PM Pacific Time and end February 13th at 12 PM Pacific Time.  The Founders and Admins reserve the right to edit submitted images as necessary to facilitate online display (i.e. reducing image/file size, adjusting brightness/contrast/saturation to improve viewability over the web), without changing the integrity of the artwork. 

Winners will be announced on February 14th!

Entry Specification Instructions: 

• Each artist is limited to entering up to two (2) pieces for the contest
• You MUST be a registered user of PS.net to participate.  If you haven't registered, please click here for our registration page.
• All images should be saved in jpg format.
• Resolution should be 72dpi (web resolution) and please compress (jpg).
• Resize the image so that it is no taller than 400 pixels and no wider than 600 pixels (be sure that you have "maintain aspect ratio" selected when you resize!!!). 
• Crop your image so that it is not wasting visual space.  File size should be no larger than 100kb!  If you are unfamiliar how to accomplish these tasks, contact us newfeathers at phoenixsong dot net (please replace the "at" and "dot" with appropriate symbols) and we will assist you.
