That was THE funniest fic I have read in a long time. Your sense of humor is so JK-Rowlingish that I am still stunned and amazed by it. Excellent, excellent job. Three thumbs up!
I had tons of favorite lines, and this is just one of them:
<<Oh, Merlin... Dean eyed her warily. She didn't... fancy him, did she? Luna was a nice enough girl and all, but she was a bit, well...>>
Everyone was very in-character and the scene played out exactly as I envisioned it would. I loved the bit at the end when Dean sees Harry and Ginny out the window. *sigh* so romantic. Also, the ending part with Lavender was perfect.
Great job. Please write more soon!

Well written. I like how the diffrence in prespective
makes the whole scene "smarmy" and "disgusting", in a really realistic
way. I think you captured that part of it perfectly.
It fell down a bit whith Luna. I think you could have
probbly left her out, espically since I don't think anyone in fan
fiction ever gets her just right. She really is more strange than
she is wise (and more blunt than observant).
But, again the end worked out and the bit about Luna prefering the company of Neville was nice.

Thank you for reviewing!  Yeah, I personally didn't find the scene disgusting (it still has me smiling when I think about it!) but when I eventually got round to thinking about Dean, I realised he probably wouldn't agree! Having to watch your ex-girlfriend snogging away very publicly can't have been much fun! Especially when you have to share a dorm room with the snogging partner. Relations in the 6th year dorms must have been strained all round!
I didn't plan to put Luna in; I just got to that bit and thought, if I were Dean, who would be the last person I'd want making comments on this situation? And Luna and Lavender were both right up there! She is hard to figure out though. Sometimes insane; sometimes actually quite sweet. I do like her and I love the dynamics between her and Neville: it still seems strange to me that JKR squashed a romance angle there in interviews because there definitely seems to be a vibe! |
