Fantastic story. I was so happy when Ginny finally came into the room and was there to start helping Harry with his grief. She truly is his greatest source of comfort and joy in the good time and the bad. No one understands him and can help him the way that Ginny can, not even Hermione and Ron. They're just soulmates. It also helped him once he started wanting to take care of her and her grief. Moving from feelings of powerlessness to his protective instincts for those he loves always helps Harry to deal with things, in my opinion.
Yes, I got the Friends reference, too. It was funny, if you knew what it meant, but it still would work in the story, if you didn't.
Great job! |

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! This seems like a perfect "missing moment" from HBP. and completely consistent with canon. I agree that there must have been moments like this for the "greatest source of comfort" label to be used.
I also find it completely believable that some of Harry's dorm-mates would feel excluded by "Potter and his circle", without realizing that they might not have been able to deal with the implications of being included.
I have wondered how JKR envisioned having only Luna and Neville show up when the DA coins were activiated once again. Your scene with Dean and Seamus would indicate that they had the coins, realized they'd been activated, but ignored them. I'd always thought that the coins had either been spent or tucked away in a trunk somewhere, assuming they would not be used again. With the coins again being prominent at the end of DH - to get everyone back to Hogwarts, your idea seems to be more realistic.
So, again, thank you. I enjoyed your story, and the tangents it made my mind wander down! |

| These are honestly some of my favorite fanfic stories. The ones that tell a smaller piece of the story, what went on when we weren't looking. It was exactly what I pictured in my mind for these two. I hope Harry remembers moments like this. So he realizes he cannot do this without Ginny in the seventh book. Great job, you almost had me there for a second too. |

and forever! You do an incredible job of writing Harry and Ginny's grief in losing Professor Dumbledore. Grief that deep is something that is very hard to write, and you did it, along with the sense of comfort they intilled in each other! Yay for you! |

"You love those emoticons, I see, lol. What is Charmingly_Holly? I'm guessing it's something really fluffy but I fear I must be missing out?"
Yes. I just love 'em!
If you don't know who Charmingly_Holly is, you certainly are missing out! She's an author at fanfiction.net. She's really good. Some are serious , some are sad , but most are hilarious . Whenever I read something sad, I go read "Help! The Butterdish is Attacking Me!" or "Quick! Grab the Cheese Wheels and Run!" .... yeah, odd names, but they're great stories! You should check her out! ( that's you checking her out!) Even though I like PS much better than ff.net, she doesnt' have a PhoenixSong account .... ah well!

What a truely wonderful story. It's like the first chapter of Book 7. I do hope that JK keeps them together in the final book, but who knows.
A great job.

I really like your work. This is a wonderful addition to HBP. I'm sorry I was so late in reading it. I actually think you add more character depth than JKR does.
I'm holding out for the 7th book - but if I had to give an answer right now - I like your ending (Curse of the Damned) better than hers. Go figure. I'm really hoping that JKR's 7th book ties things together well - but the horcruxes bothered me. You didn't pull any surprise things like that - You stayed within the realm she had already created. The actions made logical sense not a fantastical extreme that I'm concerned she's going in or that other fanfic authors have gone.
You blend humor, with angst well and you really have a handle on the characters. Their voices seem very accurate to me.
Thanks for sharing this with us. I really enjoy your writing & know that I'm for a great story when I see that you have something new written!! |

I'm glad you liked the end of CotD, I really struggled with that. I feel so badly for all the pressure JKR has to be feeling. Expectations are SO high and there is no way for her to please everyone since what we all want is so varied. I've some H/Hr shippers who've completely gone off the deep end over the sinking of thier ship. I always find myself wondering how much JKR is aware of it all and what is going through her head.
I'm looking forward to the Horcrux hunt, and remain hopeful for more h/g goodness. |

Well that was brilliant, as always. Loved the description of how Harry was dealing w/ DD's death when he was trying to sleep. And the referances to canon really made this like a forgotten snippet from HBP. As always, your Ginny and Harry are my fav and you don't lose any of their personality here. Keep up the great work. I'm hoping for something from CotD - hinthint, nudgenudge. :-D
Can't wait to read more of your work,

| I always enjoy reading your stuff. Thanks for adding this moment. I agree with you that there just had to be moments like these between the two of them, even if JKR censored them out. |

This was an amazing story.....but, you know, it isn't that smart to listen to "Angel" by Sarah McLachlan while reading this.
Dumbledore is gone, and I've had my fair share of crying for him, but when you mentioned Fwakes dying of a broken heart...well...I never thought about that and it's so sad!
I cannot stop saying this, but Harry and Ginny are perfect for each other and I am positive they will get back together sometime in the 7th book...

| I'm certain that Harry and Ginny will reunite, as well. The "ideal" girl for him kind of seals the deal. I honestly don't know what to make of DD, Snape and the whole horror at the end. I can argue it in several different ways, which makes it such a great story. I can hardly wait for book 7, yet I also don't want it to come and be over. |
