I started rereading this fic, and had to chuckle at the place of Godric's Hollow. The plase, Godre’r-graig, is in fact only about 5 miles form my flat. It's a great place and in between other villages. How did you get the name of this place? Or why pick it? I'd love to know. Very good chapter BTW.
I'm on a reread of this, and I just wanted to say that even after DH, this story still holds up as one of the alltime best fanfics. Everything from the small details of Remus walking through a nonexistent door to the enormous weight Harry has to carry and the resulting emotions.
Thou art the Queen of angst!
This is my most favorite chapter to date - and that's saying a lot because of how I love your stories.
I think Your depiction of Harry's reactions to Wormtail and the dreaded news was spot on.
Remus walking through the door-no-more was a lovely touch.
I'm working on a story now wherein Harry contains the sixth Horcrux embedded in his head beneath his scar. It's called Regarding Harry , and it's mostly about his life after the final battle.
First of all, my apologies for disappearing on you. I've been busy with other stuff the last couple of weeks and fanfiction kind of got lost in the shuffle. But that's certainly not a critique of your work, and you certainly gave me a treat for my return.
For lack of a better word, this chapter was extremely powerful. Everything I've read of yours has been very emotially charged, and this takes it to a new level. It's know wonder Harry breaks down at the end; you would have been hard pressed to come up with any more traumatic circumstances without killing off any of the characters.
First of all, you did a marvelous job with the setting. The shattered home, the spectral images of his parent's death, the lurking presence of their betrayor -- it's a symbol of Harry's life, really. And the fact that, for the most part, Harry faced it alone made it all the more poignant and impactful.
Then you hit him with the revelation and ratchet things up even further. I think that's a bold and intriguing twist to put into the story.
I know a lot of H/G shippers look down on the Harry-is-a-Horcrux theories because they just can't see the story as a tragedy, but there's no denying it fits that "left a part of himself behind" bit in CoS. Plus, there's nothing more emotionally challenging -- or heroic -- someone like Harry could face than having to embrace his own death. It opens such potential, especially for his interaction with the other characters (as you've already shown in the touching scene with Ginny at the end here), that I'd definitely respect you for trying it. But ...
I'm left wondering, though. For one, this is awfully early in a very long story to reveal such a crucial fact in such detail. I suppose it gives Harry time to come to terms with what he's facing, but it's also Pettigrew delivering the message. Could the information be planted to make Harry make do Pettigrew's (and, pehaps, Voldemort's) dirt work for him? I can't help thinking there's another layer to this somewhere.
I guess it comes down to whether on not the ruthless killer of characters Jo claims to be. Either way, it ought to be fun finding out.
Thanks for an intense and thought-provoking read!

Bad Wormtail! He has to be lying. I don't trust him as far as I could throw him in either of his forms. Poor Harry. They have to find a way around this. I still don't believe it because Dumbledore had said love was the reason Voldy couldn't possess Harry. Dumbledore would have mentioned the hint of thinking Harry could be a Horcrux. I know I'm grasping at straws but that's all I have right now.
Sometimes I wish you weren't such an amazing writer. I'm sniffling right now and I'm on the edge of my seat, off to read the next chapter. I can't believe this! Harry, a horcrux! It makes sense, I suppose, but it sent me into shock ! Great job!!!
Aww, poor Harry. I must say though, I never saw that coming.. Although it does make some semblance of sense.. I wonder if it's anything like JK will do. Another great chapter, I must get on and read the next ones now though, I need to know what happens! +
"He hadn’t expected them to be able to reinforce them against the Dementors" -- This is awkward. The expected antecedent for "them" is "the wards" as is certainly the case with the second one. But to make sense the first one has to be "the Weasleys" or something like that, not present in context leading your readers to be confused. It would be better as: "He hadn't expected them to be reinforced against the Dementors."
So that's the seventh Horcrux. That makes no sense -- a horcrux can't be a person. You're too good a writer to do something so foolish, so this has to be a plot by Voldemart to weaken Harry, and it's working so far.
Aww the end of that chapter made me tear up! Loved the chapter, as always, and whilst I'm not entirely convinced Harry will be a horcrux, It'll be interesting to see where you go with this
Is it true? Don't know, I don't think it is personally but I don't know for certain. What is interesting is how Harry bought what Pettigrew said, he believes and percieves it to be the truth and therein I think lies the crux (pardon the pun) of the matter. It reminds me of how Harry was tricked by Voldemorts dream-visions into going to the Ministry of Magic - he believed it to be the truth and acted accordingly. I believe that Dumbledore's explanation to why Voldemort won't go near Harry at the moment is Harry's "capability of loving" that pained Voldie too much and he is looking for ways now that Dumbledore is dead to shake him. Maybe...
This chapter has certainly provided THE plot-twist, regardless of Harry being the last horcrux is true or untrue (only time will tell), the fact is that Harry believes Pettigrew to be telling the truth and does not doubt it. Surely this will affect his decisions, he already now believes he will die. Simply put this puts a brilliant spin on things! It lifts an already good story to something unique and makes it beautifully UNPREDICTABLE. Is it a lie or not and how will it affect the end? Brilliant! A stroke of genius!
The characterisation of Harry in this chapter is superbly written, exploiting Harry's weaknesses to show his rash, self-doubting side.
This chapter I think is one of the pivotal moments of the story - well executed and simply top notch storytelling. In one fell swoop you have made this a story that I'm totally addicted to!!! Sod work - if it means a few minutes less sleep each night in order to find the next update it will be worth it!
A bow to the Mistress of Writing - you've just shown us how a master-class in writing!!!
Ok, my bad. That theory wasn't disputed now that I think back on it. But there's just so much evidence against it. But I guess it could happen. I gues there is evidence for it too. Huh ....well now you got me thinking!!! you're EVIL!!!! I don't like to think...it hurts my head... Anyway...please continue this wonderful story.

6: Godric's Hollow (Author Response)
Heh, you worried me there for a minute. I kept thinking, "she did?" I know she refuted the idea Ginny was a Horcrux, but I've never seen anything about Harry. Honestly, I think she likes fueling our debates on the subject. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and there's more to come.
I really like this story. How its in Harry's perspective, like the books. A lot of people don't do that and it drives me crazy sometimes. The only thing is that Harry is a horcrux. It's a theory that JKR said wasn't gonna happen. Unless that's just what Wormtail told him, to upset him or something. Anyways please continue!!!
lol...i was expecting Ginny to be the seventh horcrux...there's been a lot of support in that theory...even biblical in quality, with direct textual evidence in CoS.
I wasnt a particular believer in the Harry-Horcrux theory, but still...I think it adds an interesting twist to the story.
Using Wormtail to reveal the seventh horcrux in such a way was very clever...haha...
cant wait for the next one...

6: Godric's Hollow (Author Response)
Heh, well, even if it weren't for the fact that JKR already refuted the Ginny idea, I still see more possibilities for Harry. Ginny was only posessed by a fragment of Tom's soul, not the whole thing, and we saw Harry destroy that fragment. I have a lot of theories for this story, lol - but they're just that. I'm having a lot of fun with this one.
I'm glad you enjoyed Wormtail! Ha! I did a lot of re-writes on that big reveal.
