AWESOME!!!!!!!! That was great brought a tear to my eye the emotions that Ginny felt remembering the battle. It makes me wonder what James and Albus thought when Lily told them about the text book |

| A superb mother daughter moment - and I love how Lily is really like her mother in this, which is probably why her mum knows how to punish her. |

| I really enjoyed this. It's very insightful, both into the relationship between mother and daughter and into the nature of someone so young being confronted with the need to do grownup things. |

While I am obviously very pleased at your decision to do this, honoured in fact, I think I should point out that each of my stories stand out on their own and are in no way linked to each other so this will not make that much of a difference if you do choose to read HR. |

I thought this was a lovely take on a child's eyes being opened to a parent's life. I really do see Harry and Ginny not giving the brutal reality of the war to their children. After all in the epilogue it was Ron who took credit (jokingly of course) for all the attention they were getting.
I could see a child getting details from a history book that made them think 'that's not how mum and dad explained it' and going to the source for the facts. I think that as a parent you want to keep the horror from your children as long as possible which allowed for this nice story.
Well done |

cheers, after reading so many history books, I wanted to write an account on this, and Lily just seemed the right person to read it.

Always wanted to read a story about one of their children learning about Harry and Ginny's past, and this does it so well. Loved this,
"After all this, doesn't it make grounding someone seem pointless?"
Type of line I'd say to get out of trouble lol! |

Interesting take on the subject matter. We tend to forget that the "heroes" are just real people, pushed to do extraordinary things.
Unfortunately, I felt that this could have been much more--It was a nice story, but didn't have the depth that I was hoping for. I would have liked to see much more of a conversation between Lily and Ginny, and some real bonding happening because of it. Ginny could have shared more of her impressions and emotions, and Lily could have grown and changed because of it. I think that last statement of mine is really the crux here--no-one came out of this story changed for the better. Sure, Lily has a little better understanding of how blessed her life is, but hasn't necessarily become a better person because of it.
Still, an enjoyable read. |

At the time I wrote this I was not up for much more than one shots but I would not mind revisiting these characters in the future. |

wow! this was awesome!
I can see ginny and harry downplaying the roles that they played in the final battle but at the same time i could see them telling them everything about it because they want their kids to know how different their childhoods are and stuff....
loved the ending!

nice try from lily to get out of her house arrest. Though luck that Ginny would have tried the same and sees true her attemt. |
