Hmmm... an interesting alternative view of Harry and Ginny's relationship. I always figured that Harry didn't REALLY start noticing her until at least his fifth year, and up until then always just kind of took her presence for granted. That he became so dependant on her seems a bit funny to me...
Ginny's behaviour, however, seems quite true to what I would expect. She's reading a lot into everything, and getting caught up over-analysing things. There's a hint of jealousy there, which would seem right if she started getting an impression of high importance from Harry. I think it's typical teenage-girl-with-a-crush behaviour that every single thing she does is though over and deliberate, even when it comes to being distant... Very interesting indeed...

You're right on. I would say that normally Harry wouldn't have noticed her, but she was able to use he understanding of him (through the bond) to make him see her earlier. At least that's the theory I'm going with.
Awwww. I was confused for a bit cuz I didn't realize she was sitting there thinking about memories. I like how they've become best friends. He'll need her more and more as time goes now. She'll snap him out of the misery he's feeling right now I hope. Poor Harry and his nightmares. And what's this? Ron and Hermione together?? How'd THAT happen?

Sorry about the confusion, I'm glad that it eventually made sense! Yep, one thing Ginny is good at is no nonsense cheer ups. As for Ron and Hermione...well I needed a convenient excuse as to why they weren't around that much anymore so I kinda coped out and just used that one. It's not going to impact the story much though so I think it's alright. I hope.
Awwww, the scene where Harry was crying was so adorable. I loved this chapter so much; I felt so bad for both Harry and Ginny. I think Ginny just had bad timing in her search for someone other then Harry's best friend. And Harry being alone, I'm reading a lot of stories with Harry being alone Keep writing, please.

Hm, well I like the background information you gave, and I'm really interested to see where it goes now. It's looking like they'll get together earlier than they did in canon, but maybe not if Harry is all surly and also bitter about Ginny's perceived "abandonment."
All I really ask is that I don't want to see details of Harry with other girls, if you write that (but I'll be perfectly estatic if you don't ;-D) and I can't stand tragedies where one of them dies or something. Please tell me now if this is a tragedy, so I can spare myself pain. Pathetic I know... but I think real life has enough pain and horror. I don't like to read it. :-)

I think Harry is in a rough place right now. I still see them getting together earlier than in cannon, especially since Ginny has some insights into exactly what Harry is going through.
This is not a tragedy. I am a big H/G person so my stories always seem to come out right in the end. Some bad things will happen, but I've already got a plan to make it right, so please keep reading and if you ever think its going to be too sad, feel free to PM me. I would rather share some future insights with you and keep you reading than have you not read at all!
I liked the background story. Poor Harry, he really went through a rough year didn't he? It was even worse than what actually happened. I still can't wait to see where this takes us, I'm really enjoying it. You really are a very good author.

Wonderful chapter!! I just about cried for poor Harry, when the one person he could count on stopped being there for him. I don't know if I agree with Ginny's plan to distance herself from him so she can find herself--intellectually I understand it, and it probably needed to happen, but emotionally it just rips me in half.

Thanks for the compliment. Harry had it rough, but I really think that Ginny had it right. If she doesn't know who she is apart from Harry, how can she be strong when he needs her?
Don't get too upset yet though...it might make it harder to deal with the next few chapters, mwuahahahahah (
