I'm quite glad you caught the canon references, actually! None of my betas caught the Richard Thomas one right off the bat.  Good reading. I got that idea from a little gem of information on JKR's Web site about how Dean's father died. If Liam and Regulus decide to put their heads together, they should be able to find a decently good solution, don't you think?
