Poor Lee. I can completely see why he's so confused. I don't know what I want to do after high school. Maybe something with kids *shrugs* I'll get there when I get there.
Lee's father sounds like a very smart man. Not pushing or demanding. He wants the best for his son. Very cool.
The Underground sounds kinda creepy haha. Will there be a lot of spears? They seem to keep popping up haha. I'll find out I'm sure ^_^
Amazing chapter!

It's very hard to figure out what you want to do for a career - especially when there isn't any one burning thing that sticks out in your mind. Lee has many jobs in this story (another reason why it's so long) and that's one of the reasons why. He likes a lot of different things.
I said it before and I'll say it again: this story is brilliant! I've been reading the chapters at random for the second time and I have always found myself wanting to go back to the beginning and starting all over again... I really enjoyed the Lee-Holly moment at the ice cream parlour (I'm even craving strawberry ice cream), and the underground trip was another brilliant step into thickening the plot... I very much enjoyed how you wrapped all together and how you set glimpses of MWMW.

Oh, how nice you're reading this again! I'm glad it's still enjoyable after all of this time. I liked that trip to the ice cream parlour, too. So much more enjoyable than the underground! I do like my fluff! Thanks for letting me know what you thought.
Ooh chilling plot. Shall be forever even more scared when I go on the Underground now... still, glad you cleared up the connection with the muggle one because I couldn't quite envisage it. And as usual, brilliant portrayal of Lee not knowing what to do. You remember this age very well!!

Lots more about the Underground. HBP made this entire plot AU - but it was fun to imagine it.
Oh, how positively fabulous! It is official though, I feel like scum. Here you are, updating at lightning speed with those brilliant moments ("And besides – he wasn’t flirting with Holly. Just having carnal thoughts , he thought ruefully."), the frightening moments ("He shivered – it was all too easy to feel paranoid in a place like this.") and the oh-so-lovable moments with Holly ("Holly laughed delightedly. “I remember that one. Oh, I’m so glad you stopped by. I needed cheering up. I’m going to write those down when I get back to the flat.”) and I haven't even reviewed!
Well, after my incessant rambling, I hope you can enjoy the words of this raving lunatic as much as said lunatic enjoys each update!

I'm just glad you're reading! And don't ever feel "like scum" for leaving a review. I feel terrible for not reading more fan fiction because I'm always writing my own stuff. So we can be at the bottom of the pond together! LOL.
This lightning speed isn't as quick as you think. I actually wrote six chapters before I posted the first one - since I didn't have a clue what I was doing. It took me so long to find these characters and their voices that I thought I had forgotten how to write! But it's coming along well now! Thanks for checking in! I appreciate it.
Nice to see some tie ins with the order. Makes this fit with the whole universe really well.
Gonna read the next chapter tomorrow. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for reading. You'll be seeing more glimpses of what the main characters are doing. It's funny to try to write it from a minor character's point of view!
Very imaginative chapter with the Underground - loads of good and
occasionally funny ideas about garbage. The magic-recycling part made
me smile. But the best part of this chapter, imo, is the dialog between
Lee and his father at the end. Perhaps b/c I know how Lee feels.

4: The London Underground (Author Response)
Thanks for your review! There's more about Lee and his ultimate career coming. It's really the big theme of this story.
Just wanted you to know how much I'm enjoying this, much like I do the rest of your work. It's great getting to know a minor HP character better - it has the freedom of an OC with the strong foundation of canon.
At first, when you mentioned Harry and Ginny being an item, I thought this was in the Wallpaper universe. Now, I see, it's actually the Magic Within one. Will we see or hear about further repercussions of Harry and Ginny's summer adventure?
Eagerly awaiting each installment!

I'm so glad you're reading! I worked hard to bring in canon where ever possible. I've spent waaay too much time with Quidditch Through The Ages!
And yes, you'll hear more about H/G and how exactly they've messed with the Voldy and friends.
Another great chapter! I loved the Holly/Lee interactions, they
do sound like they'd be a wonderful couple, so I really look forward to
seeing what happens next.
The underground part gave me goosebumps and a chill down my
spine. I know why I don't watch thriller movies of any kind, I'm
too easily persuaded the terrors are real, and the GFL interactions
were well written, so I fell right into that trap again. I am not
so sure I want to know what is going on down there...
Lee's father sounds like the wonderful caring sort, who prefers his kid
to use some time to find his passion, rather than just pursue a
"career". Great. There should be more like him.
This was indeed another cool chapter from the master mind. Thanks a lot!!!

I'm glad you liked this chapter. I had lots of fun imaging the Underground. There are all kinds of legends about the real Underground that I wish I could have thrown in there - like a mummy escaped from the British Museum and is roaming through the place. Better not tell Parvati!
I'm glad H/L appear compatible already - it's a good first step to believable fluff!
I think you'll like Lee's parent's back-story too!
I like his father too - It was fun to think about what kind of parents would raise a kid as out-going and seemingly self-confident as Lee. David Jordan is who I came up with. Did you notice I named his parents after JKR's children? (I started this before baby Mackenzie was on the scene)
Another nice chapter...I like how we are still getting ripples from Magic Within, Magic Without...with Fred and George checking for Death Eater activity.
Nice interaction for Lee with Holly...the poor bloke is already falling hard and doesn't even realize it.
I like how Lee is going through his internal conflict of self doubt.
Look forward to the next one.

I do revisit a few things from MWMW - and it's fun to have some of that established in my mind already.
You're right - he doesn't know the fluffy trap I've set for him - but he'll be happy!
I wouldn't have expected one of your stories to have so much technical detail about garbage collecting and recycling, but I liked it. I suppose it connects to the museum curating thing, too: both involve finding uses for old discarded stuff. Lee (himself another piece of discarded stuff at the moment) seems to be moving on a bit quickly towards Holly, I hope he doesn't mess things up by moving too fast.

I really enjoyed figuring all that out - it does become important a little later on. And you're always so good about picking up on themes!
Yes, Lee is latching on to Holly - but it's more old patterns from when they were in school together. But now he's starting to notice her a bit. I'm not going to serve the fluff just yet! (But it will be well-deserved after all that technical detail.)
