Nice scene with the Marauders prank. Good to see Pettigrew being a bit of an idiot . I liked what Moody said to Harry about luck.
I'm not sure your quite right about retaining the memory (or the connection to 'shadows of the actual events out of time'). From what Dumbledore says to both Harry and Snape , the Pensieve appears to be a memory storage device, not merely a memory expereiencer or projector (though Rowling uses them that way for plot purposes). Why would Dumbledore have given it to Snape to help him deal with bitter feelings over the past (and so to treat Harry better), if it didn't at least mute if not take away those memories completely. But it was nice to see Harry as a baby loved by his parents -- that was very nice.

:) I loved the Marauder's one of
many pranks! Didn't quite turn out how they had wanted, but it was
still equally as hilarious in the end, if not more. I'm not too kean on
snakes, but it's always funny when someone else encounters them :)
I did like Hermione's POV in this chapter. We don't get to see a whole
lot of that in canon, and I've always wondered at certain parts what
other character's are thinking. That IS what the next chapter is about,
so I am looking forward to reading that :)
The first time I read this, I really enjoyed the scene when Harry goes
off and warms up to his Pensieve. I think I would be just as
nervous/scared/excited as him if I were in his position, but not really
have second thoughts.. my anticipation would rule over all :) I was
happy that Harry could observe a memory of him and his parents. It kind
of gave him strength, like he finally understands what kind of parents
they were and how much they loved him. If only it were like that with
everyone :)
Nice job on this chapter, it was great!

The baby memory was great as well. I hope Harry gets comfort from it.

Another wonderful chapter. I enjoyed your use of the pensieve as a plot devise. Not only for comedic purposes, but as a way for Harry to connect with his lost life. Seeing Sirius, James and Lily underscore how lonely and emotionally uncertain Harry still is. It also gives the adults in his life access to what Harry has been through first hand. I like that Moody approaches Harry and hives a little positive reinforcement. He needs it.
It’s nice to see the normally logical Hermione admit that her emotions can’t be ruled. Hopefully Ron will accept what he feels and these two will get together without too much fighting. Grin.
Not a great deal of Gin in this chapter, but it provided enough backstory to Harry’s life and mindset that you don’t really notice.
I’m glad Harry can now see how much his parents loved him, and hope he can get a little peace from the memories. Thanks for posting and can’t wait to get to the next chapter.
