"Cabbages and Kings," heh? Now that's an impressive reference to work into a Harry Potter fic.

Great job at figuring out a way to get Wormtail and free Sirius simultaneously. I also loved the Diners Association, and that scene with Ginny exacting her revenge on Sirius should go down in history. Brilliantly written. He will never, ever mess with her again, without knowing what's coming to him.

I enjoyed Harry's time with Sirius in this chapter and how he fixed Sirius's love-life in a snap.

Albus's mmails with Aberforth were also very fun and illuminating about them as characters. The part explaining how wards work was also well-done. I'm a very literal person; when something intangible is explained to me, it must be explained in way makes me able to picture it completely in my mind. Your explanation achieved that goal, and I appreciate this, because not everyone can explain a figurative concept so well.

I also liked the fact that Ginny doesn't need Harry to fight any battles for her. She's a force all unto herself.

One last thing for this review: I enjoyed Snape's role in this fic and especially in recent chapters. I appreciate how you've humanized him and given him a chance to see that his bitterness towards Harry's father is old news and shouldn't really play a part in his relationship with Harry now. (Also, any Slytherin should be looking out for his own best interests for the future, above all else. Your "Siberia" motif definitely makes sense, and I don't know why it never occurred to me before that Snape should be not wanting to burn any bridges with the wizard who will one day take on Voldemort.) The "Siberia/Alaska" conversation was also a nice touch. I'm glad that there's always a sense of humor kept, even in as hostile of a relationship as that of Harry and Snape (before this fic, of course).

This might be kind of funny to you, but i used a translator to figure out what Fleur said to Bill...it came out like this: start tin on etre also asinine and bounded , thanksggiving me overtaking! I laughed so hard, then i looked for a different translator and it said the same thing. Whatr exactly did she say to him, after reading that hilariously wrong [i'm guessing] translation i'm now very curious.

Other than that, i love this story so much! so far i have laughed till i cried, had such a fit of histarical laughter that my sister came up and asked what was wrong with me, snorted pop out my nose, and almost [thank god only almost] snorted pizza out my nose! You have amazing talent when it comes to hilarity!

I love a story that convincingly brings Sirius back! I cried so hard when he died...so sad. I wish JKR had brought him back, but no such luck.

The professors betting on Potter or the Weasley's is great. I never really saw through their stiff upper lips, i always knew Minerva had a goofy side! Cats always love catnip, which for cats is the equivalent of pot to humans! lol, Minnie's got a wild side! I love the To: and From: lines in the Mmails, it shows such creativity!

Ok, i'm going to finish typing this so i can read some more. Oh btw, i almost never review before the end of a story...this has impressed me so much i decided it deserved a mid-story review! this story is deffinatly going on my permanent fave list. and being recommended to my readers when my story is finally finished. Great job!

It's 1:00 am and I can't stop reading this story. I laughed so hard I cried at the Ginny/Fudge DA conversation. You are incredibly talented with your words. Please keep writing. And if you ever have any original fiction published, please let met know. Anyone with the sense of humor you have will easily become one of my favorite authors.

Wow. What a wonderful story. This is not very believable, due to much OOCness and AU bits, but it's the only hard-to-believe story I have ever enjoyed reading so much. The proof of that? I registered just to be able to review.

This is well-written, captivating, funny, suspenseful, original, entertaining and well-thought out. Really excellent work--you're a brilliant writer.

Cheers.

Oh gosh. Wow. Golly. Gee whizz. Sorry. Freaky old fashioned quotes from Arthur Ransome there. Couldn't help it. How did you learn to write like that? Despish, intolerably despish, but I love it all the more. Incredibly gripping. I spent hours reading it all. I love your ideas. I wondered how the story could continue with the Weasley prank sorted, etc, but you kept it going without an overload of plot. The story so far is ace. Now I'm off to check out the other work on this site. If this story is just a taster... then I'm in for a treat!

So that's why Sirius is alive.  If only Jo would borrow your idea...I laughed so hard at the castrate Sirius scene that I had tears running down my cheeks.  Thank you for that.  And I hope Jo borrows your idea about Harry not knowing he has limits.  Well done.

This Means War!
This story is truly a pleasure for me. Even your "throwaway lines" (the mmail headers) are a joy. It always makes my day to see an Alice in Wonderland quotation, and the Walrus and the Carpenter is a personal favorite, more so since the scene in the movie Dogma. Padfoot and Moony translating dog language, and the truly horrible Sirius/serious jokes are things real lifelong friends would discuss, killing time via mmail. The jump from this thread to Harry and the ministry bigwigs threw me off, but I picked up what you were heading for midway through. Yay to Tonks and Kingsley getting in on the story!

Harry's interaction with Snape was interesting. I love a humanized Sev, and you have given him a typically slytherin motivation for helping a boy he once distained. Enlightened self-interest works wonders for most people. You utilized an excellent mix of humor and pathos here. I also hate the thought of the pain Harry must be used to, and can see Snape rolling his eyes at Harry's initial panic.

I like to see the schemer in Harry come out to play. He's been used as a pawn of Fate's long enough. Putting his enemy's weakness against himself (ie Voldimort's insanity, Fudge's arrogance, Crabbe and Goyle's stupidity) shows Harry as a thinker not just a reactor. I hope this is echoed in the coming books. Grin.

Oh my goodness gracious! The infamous, (and, I'm sure to all your readers immortal) dining scene in the room of requirement was amazing. A great mix of characters, and personalities- each knowing only a part of what is going on. The humor begins mildly, (as all great meals do) a little tension to cleanse the palate in the form of Fudge exercising his authority, then, wham the main entrée. Ginny at her Weasley best. She didn't grow up with Forge for nothing. Poor Padfoot may have been better off with the Ministry. I giggled, snorted, and full out laughed in this scene. I can't remember the last time I read something this funny. My favorite parts? Impossible to limit, but I love that she whacked him, called him simple, said " . . .because it took AGES to teach him not to go potty where he shouldn't . . ." and oh, I don't know, THREATENED TO NUETER HIM!! Hee Hee Hee. Snort.
I love that Remus shamelessly enjoyed this, and all the guests are literally rolling on the floor laughing. Each person's reaction was funny in and of itself. Outstanding writing. I only hope you enjoyed this as much as I did.

And just like that, when we're ready to burst, dessert is served. (Stay with me, I'm trying to keep to the dining theme) Something light and sweet, and yet it forwards the plot as well. Harry, again with a casual display of his powers, showing confidence and emotional openness, gives me my now required tender moment between them as he tell Ginny that he loves her. Aww. So simply done. Does he realize how important that was?

Wormtail's arrest and Sirius's freedom is almost a letdown. I appreciate that the Skeeter article covered all the required info, leading us right into Harry's apparation lessons. The idea of the void is a new one, and I feel you have created an interesting theory. Aberforth seems like an interesting character. I'll have to go back: I don't remember him in the books. Can't wait to see what you do with him.

Juanita? I guess after abusing poor Sirius you felt like he needed a reward. A beautiful girl on a tropical beach must rank right up there. Grin. Just for me, can someone please fall in love with Remus? He deserves to find what James had with Lily. It's up to you. ..

The Weasley boys are feeling the pain thanks to SPOT and Hermione. Harry hasn't even begun his revenge yet. What on earth could he have planned that involves special outfits? Lav and Pav are the clothes experts, maybe the boys will have to wear makeup! If it's half as funny as this enstallment, I'm not sure I want to know!

I feel like each chapter includes more and more to comment on.
As always, I really enjoyed the tempo as well as the style of your writing. I just realized that you have managed to entertain me completely, without using either profanity or graphic sex. Not that there is anything wrong with either. (GRIN) I appreciate your level of creativity that suggests rather than bludgeons.

I learned what a beta is today, and you apparently have one (more?) Please thank them on behalf of your readers. Obviously, I have no idea what your initial draft looks like, but even for a cursory proof, they take their time out of life to help make your creation better. And they don't get reviews. I called them editors before, and though the name is different, the works the same. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who has a part of this story deserves a hug.

Thanks for writing something that made my day a great deal brighter. I can't wait to read the next chapter. Sincerely,

Your new fan,
pix'ellie
