Dedicated to Miss Sock Stealer. Good person to dedicate too. She is a great author. I not sure where this fic is going yet but I enjoy it.

So Voldemort knows the prophecy. That is not good. And stupid Fudge. He is a bad Minister. And Harry is going to be learning wandless magic this year isn't he? Very good chapter.

Wormtail was in Dumbledore's office .
Fudge is rather obstinate and a bit evil .
Harry is having a rather lot of dreams. And the wandless magic part is quite good. But Mafalda's list makes me wonder . . . why did Voldie bother with a wand when dueling Harry?

Good question that one is - my guess is that Voldemort wanted to make a show of destroying Harry. The wand added just that extra bit of flourish if you know what I mean. Okay, maybe not, but that's as good as I can figure it. Although there is one more thing - at that point in time Voldemort was rather weak just having risen in a new body. Perhaps he was too weak to focus his energies without a wand. There. That's a more likely answer. Thanks for reviewing!!!

The Fudge thing was great.
Wandless magic fics are really hard to pull off. As you have only scratched the surface, I'm hoping you'll not bang that drum too loudly, but keep it subtle and make it nicely detailed when you bring it to the forefront.

As for Petunia, hope Harry can help on that front. A nervous breakdown?

Saw hints of some upcoming stuff. "His inheiritance" and such. The sword? I'm hoping for some swordplay in this fic - I'm a sucker for it. But then again you could be just using the title as a metaphor. Hm.

Dale - thanks for all the reviews.  I really appreciate you telling me exactly what you liked.  Don't worry, the wandless magic bit will remain subtle and playful - it's not the focus of the story.  You may have noticed a large amount of detail in this story - I was trying to copy the feel of Rowling's writing.  There will be a lot of stuff like that going on.  Glad you noticed the hints.  The sword will be an important part of this story, although it will come into prominence in the next installment (year 7).  The inheritance will come into play a little sooner.  I hope you enjoy it when you see it.

Woah how interesting! Fudge is being very odd. I think he's helping Dumbledore's side, but I'm not sure. Very interesting! I loved Neville's response to Harry's letter, it seemed oddly fitting. Doesn't Neville have to get a new wand anyway because his broke in the Department of Mysteries? I can't wait for more!

Hank,

First of all, you have a very interesting story here.

I only have a few problems with it. The first and most pressing is that I really see no way that Harry would write such top secret information like the Prophecy and explain it to Ron in a letter. It seems like a terrible breach of security.

Secondly, I fail to understand how Dumbledore would not make efforts to insure that Wormtail could not get into his office as an Animagus.

Just some things to think about.

I really enjoyed this. Keep going. I want to know more.

Lady Chi,

Thanks for the review! I appreciate your kind words. The answers to your questions are as follows:

The second part of the prophecy (the part Voldemort didn't hear) primarily concerns Voldemort marking Harry as his equal, which as far as Harry is concerned has already happened, so it makes no difference now whether or not Voldemort finds this out.

As far as Wormtail getting into Dumbledore's office as a rat goes, there is always something that gets overlooked when it comes to security systems. In this story's case, it was Wormtail. The lapse would appear to be within the bounds of canon - both Rita Skeeter and Sirius Black infiltrated Hogwarts in animagus form.

Thanks for the exhortation to keep going. FYI - there are seven more chapters lined up and ready to go to my beta, bless her heart!

Great story! I really enjoy what you've written so far. You have the right balance between Harry's feelings of guilt, anger and sadness, and the way you've made him open up and be more proactive in communicating with his friends was well done. I can't wait to read more - brilliant fic.
