They had a pretty good conversation on the way back to the common room. James almost blew it when he "stated" that she would join them for breakfast instead of asking. That was an interesting conversation they had about noticing Lily's physical attributes.
Boys will almost always notice the obvious first. Sirius and Remus really need to iron out their differences. I look forward to more of this story. Thanks for writing. p | Wooster

Thursday 8th July 2004 21:52 | With All My Love | At long last, she reviews! :p I really have been intending to do this since the first chapter was posted, but I just never got around to it. For that, I apologize.
I want to say that I normally don't read MWPP fics (no reason for it, really, other than the fact that it's not H/G). If they were all written like this one, however, I'd be reading many more. You really sucked me in in the first chapter, and I've been caught up in the story ever since.
I think part of the reason that I'm enjoying this story so much is that you don't have the much overused "Lily really hates James and spends all her time screaming at him before suddenly falling in love with him" thing going on. I should probably clarify that--it's obvious that James is not her best friend or anything, and that there's been some animosity toward him, but she seems more resigned to him than that she despises him and everything about him (and if that made any sense at all, I'll be very surprised). I like that there's this gradual build-up of mutual respect that's going on. She's beginning to see that he's not all bad; he's beginning to see her as more than just a pretty girl.
I thought that the open hostility from Hambuf toward James (and, really, I guess, for Lily too) was really interesting. He's just coming right on out there, at the first meeting, no less, and stating his disdain for the Head Boy and Girl. I'm curious to see how they react to the challenge to their authority (because I'm pretty sure that it won't end there--he was just too hostile to let it go at that).
And, of course, I'm left wondering what 'The Project' is.

I think that he needs to do something to regain Remus' trust and make up for his mistake. I'm dying to know what The Project is. It entrigues (sp?) me. Please post soon! |
