I'm going to take a completely wild guess here
Draco Malfoy has a ferret Animagus!
Or, that's I hope it'll be haha
Bouncing the amazing bouncing ferret!

Draco would make the perfect ferret Animagus, but I doubt he's capable of it. He never struck me as all that magically poweful.

'"The Malfoys have always been in competition with the Hathaways. Their estate is of a similar size as this one . . . the Weasleys have been here since before Roman times."' -- Are the Hathaways and the Weasleys the same?
So when is Harry going to kiss Ginny , so she can get her Patronus ?
Tuesday 3rd October 2006 14:00Magic Within, Magic Without (Author Response)
No, the Hathaways and the Weasleys are not the same. Aunt Martha is responding to Harry's question about the Malfoys being an upstart pure blood family and Aunt Martha points out the Weasleys have been in England longer.

Chapter Seven has the title "The Patronus Kiss" *hint, hint*

Oh, yes. Aunt Martha is four generations removed from Ginny (she's over 100) so yes, Ginny is *still* the first Weasley girl in generations.

Wow, that article's real? J.K. Rowling must have taken that into account when writing CoS then...

I like your idea of the Patronus kiss - how sweet! And the darn Jarvey ruined that moment at the end! Great chapter, as always!

I was so excited when I found that article during my research for this story.  I do think JKR knows the connection - since she used it to great effect.  I love the Patronus Kiss concept - this entire story was basically a dare to prove the amazing power of fluff!  (I take these things to heart, you know.)  You'll like chapter seven, btw.

"Whatever kind of kisses Cho and Harry had shared, she hoped their first one hadn't been like hers – with one person crying and the other not quite sure what to do."

Classic! Bad-da-ba-ba-ba, I'm lovin' it!

Sorry about the typo, I meant Aunt Martha, not margaret.

Well, St. Margarets, I must say this has been a well-written fic up to this point.  I read the first chapter on Schnoogle at Fictionalley, I think, and was disappointed when I never saw it just die there.  Finding it here was a pleasant suprise.

I like your Harry/Gin interaction.  Not an easy slippage into a relationship, but one that grows as they learn more about each other.  I like Aunt Margaret's subtle hints throughout the story.  Very Nice touch.

Hi Trey - I think you probably read this over at the Sugar Quill.  (I'm afraid of FictionAlley to tell you the truth).  For some reason the updating Process is going slowly over there right now.  So you will probably have more luck with updates here.  Thanks for your review!

Giggles. That was great. I especially enjoyed when Ginny rubbed Hydrating cream on Harry's back. That was delicious. Poor Harry, never had a girl touching him like, eh? Laughs. And Aunt Martha is coming along great. She really is an endearing character that you can really relate too. Keep up the great work.

I'm glad you like Aunt Martha - it's always a risk to invent a new character.  But I really tried to make her a Weasley through and through.

Another lovely installment, St Margarets. The sunburn bit had me giggling. Ginny may have 6 brothers and a previous boyfriend but I loved her innocent interpretation of Harry's reaction.

The whole after dinner scene felt realistic to me and was very touching. I'm glad that Ginny is learning new things about her family from another POV.

I thought it was funny that Ginny can control the element of water and yet thinks that Harry is  a 'superior' wizard.

And a UST moment for a cliffie...  Happy sigh...

Monday 29th November 2004 07:06Magic Within, Magic Without (Author Response)

I think Ginny deserves to be a bit clueless at this point - she might have the benefit of all those brothers - but I think the Weasley boys are old-fashioned enough to not tell her everything about everything, if you know what I mean.

Yes, Ginny has to learn about her own power - that's really the point of this whole story.  Point you say?  Is there a point?  I know it seems like the point is to resolve the UST - but there is still the Malfoy/Voldemort plot thread on the back burner.

Another great chapter! I'm so happy phoenixsong posts stuff so quickly....the story is several chapters behind on the sugarquill! I liked Ginny's conversation with Aunt Martha....somehow, it made them both seem so much more...human. The anxiety clock had the perfect thing to say at the perfect moment, and I love the jarvey. Poor Harry with his sunburn...good thing Ginny was there! Update soon!

There are so many great things about Phoenix Song - one being Sherry, and another being able to respond to reviews!

Yes, poor Harry - Ginny helped in some ways and made it worse in the others. :)

I love this story...your pacing is probably one of the best- draw it out, seeing their relationship slowly develop is very nice, and well done too, nice deatil about Ginny's past ship- course what she doesn't know is just how disasterous the Harry/Cho thing was - and so simular HE HE HE.

Great job so far- and Ginny's Aunt is a very good character- it rare we see a well developed character that fits so well.

I have been trying to find as many H/G parallels for them as I could.  I figured the noncombustible kiss would be a good one - and it did seem to fit the time line Hermione gave us for Ginny and Michael's relationship.

This is excellent!I try not to start any unfinished fics, but when I see anything by you, I read it anyway.  Your writing is easy, humourus, and good! keep on writing, I'll read it! H/G forever. LOL

I've been enjoying this little tale now and I really like the tack your taking with the two of them off and alone.  It's nice to see them fubling around with their emotions here without the pressure of full blown relationship.
Sunday 28th November 2004 15:55Magic Within, Magic Without (Author Response)
That's an excellent excuse for the lack of fluff, thus far - no pressure!  I'm going to use it!  No - that is a really good point - a bit more fumbling before the fluff.

So interesting!  The Patronus Kiss idea is quite promising!    I also find the weasel/Weasley & rue connection verrrry innnteresting.

I, too, can't wait to hear the entire Jarvey phrase.

I was quite happy when I found that bit of info about rue and weasels - research is so much fun when it's not for academia!

Another good chapter!  I am totally addicted to this story.  I'm reading Red is the Heart right now, but I think I like this Harry and Ginny better.  It's very uplifting and I like the tension and angst between the two.  It's just right.  Perfect, really.  Can't wait to see what happens next!

Oh, I'm glad you're reading Red Is The Heart - such a different story. I've enjoyed both "experiments" in writing H/G!

Brilliant! I'm looking forward to the update - as always! And I'm quite anxious to see how Harry and Ginny will finally get together... although I think the Patronus kiss will have something to do with that!

So now we're reaching the torturous phase of the story where you've got them thinking about each other that way, you've got them in alone situations where those feelings are starting to come out, even if they don't realize it, and you've got outside influences interrupting nature's course.  Poor, tortured teens.  And poor, tortured readers!  The only thing keeping me sane is knowing that you've been diligent in updating this story, and that I don't have to wait ages between postings.

You've got me emotionally invested in this story of yours, so be aware that I'll be seriously peeved if something keeps these two from snogging for too long - or at all.  A certain other author is already doing that to me and I'm not at all happy about it.

Patiently waiting,
-M

Chapter six is written - and - oh my - you're just going to have to wait and see . . .

I realize how evil I have been to poor Harry - and I promise I will write not one - but two - seriously fluffy scenes for all my deprived readers. And I would never introduce a Patronus kiss without some serious snogging to go along with it!

But I want you all to realize, that H/G have only been there for a week. Seven days!!!!  That's really not that long is it?  (Putting on best innocent face)

ha!  "Obviously he didn't like her touching him."
Right.

That was delightful, reading that poultice/hydrating event from Ginny's point of view.   Having been the recipient of one or two back massages from girls while at college, I have  pretty good notion of what was going through Harry's mind.  Ginny certainly didn't.

Aunt Martha is a delight.  And Narcissa Malfoy in the background.  Curious, and dangerous.  Hmm.

thanks again, and keep it going!

Poor Harry.  I think I was as evil to him as a fluff writer could be.

Again, a marvelous chapter.  I especially liked the conversation that Ginny shared with her aunt.  Aunt Martha's memories and personality would -- I think -- be most appreciated by the youngest Weasley.  As we see Ginny gain insight into her aunt, we can't help but see more deeply into Ginny.

I am struck once more by your choice of Ginny's point of view for this story.  What a different story it would be if told by Harry.  I appreciate the chance you have given us to get to know her better.

Friday 26th November 2004 18:40Magic Within, Magic Without (Author Response)

I was worried about trying something from Ginny's point of view - but I have really enjoyed it.  It has been fun to make up Aunt Martha's story and then to imagine how Ginny would react.  It's been a great way to learn her character.

I'm also enjoying the freedom of Ginny's being a girl - and therefore allowed to be more emotional.
