"Potter is weakened; I can feel it. The time to strike is now. Have Narcissa and Lucius-"

I'm assuming the vision Harry is having is in the present but Tonks killed Lucius Malfoy in your 'Emotion' story, correct?

Story is moving along nicely. It would have been nice to see something more about Dudley in this chapter. Just a snippet to keep it going.

Okay, let's see. A couple of things. I'm glad that Harry got a make over. That was really nice of Remus... and Tonks. Finally, clothes that fit him.

I feel really bad about Harry being Claustrophobic. It was horrible what happened to him in that cell. And not with just the death eaters, but with that darn dementor as well. So horrible. And now he's picking up other illnesses as well from that experience alone.

It's terrible that Harry had to live with the Dursley's abuse all these years. Why would his uncle try and choke him to death? That's just ugh!!

Over all, nice chapter.

I think you did a great job with this chapter. I love how you handled all of Harry's emotions and it seemed so realistic -well as realistic as you can get when there's magic involved...

Some watchers you have around Harry and some help Dobby is when Uncle Vernon can get his hands on Harry's throat.

Really good chapter.  Harry seems to be recovering his strength.

I think the inatentiveness of the people protecting him is a little odd.  They rely too much on the blood protection.  Also, after everything he has been through would you not have someone there with him besides Dobby all the time?

I also thought the protection was only in effect in the house, so him going to the park is a little off.

It looks like the Dursley house is about to get a visit in the near future from Death Eaters.  Well I'm off to the next chapter.

Grr!  I hate Vernon!  And I hate that Harry couldn't take his new clothes home with him.

Glad you had a great trip and welcome back.

Things seem pretty bad for Harry right now ... hope they pick up soon :)

Small nitpick - you've spelt duel as 'dual' the first time you use the word I believe - ok now that I've gotten that out of my system - great as usual.

Looking forward to Ginny's reaction on getting the owl and Vernon's reaction on Dobby :)

Yeah, Harry's in for a rough summer, but he'll turn things around.  He always does.

Sorry about the duel/dual.  I've been doing that CONSTANTLY lately, I don't why.  Vernon is being pushed closer and closer to the edge, isn't he?

Once again, great stuff! The interaction between Tonks and Remus is great, that knid of banter is just what Harry needs especially taking into account his state of mind at this point.

Can I just say **Go Dobby!** **Go Dobby!** **Go Dobby!** **Go Dobby!**

Sorry, I'll go quitely now...

Thanks, Bart.  Glad you enjoyed.  Dobby set Vernon off, but Vernon is already teetering on the edge (and he never had far to go) from all the wizards around.  They're pushing him close to his limit....

Harry Potter and the Curse of the Damned

I loved this chapter so much I even nipped up to the Admin panel to see if there was another chapter ready for Validation! (sadly, there was not).

I really hope that Hermione and Ron can overcome Ron's anger, and that Ron doesn't continue to push Hermione away.

Also - eeek!  What's going to happen next?  Luciius and Bellatrix coming after Harry?  Agh!

Sunday 12th December 2004 21:48Harry Potter and the Curse of the Damned (Author Response)

LOL!  You're funny.  Nope, no chapter in validation yet, but it's with my beta.  I'm trying for Friday updates.

Hermione and Ron are in for a rough road.  I let them get together very easily and "off camera" so it's their turn for some angst.

Sorry, I don't mean to frustrate you.  This is his last summer there, so I wanted to drag it out a bit and get in everything I wanted to do.  He'll be leaving shortly.

Gah, I don't think I can handle waiting for an update.  I've read through the last four chapters just this evening as soon as I noticed that there was a sequel to Power of Emotion.  I simply love the way you characterize Harry.  Excellent job!!!

I'm glad to hear you had a good trip!! I'm so jealous!

Gotta say, brilliant chapter! You did an excellent job! And somehow, I doubt Harry will be staying at Privet Drive much longer... not after what hapenned in Harry's room... I say sod the blood protection; the Dursleys *cough-uncleVernon-cough* are ungrateful arses, who don't deserve an inch of the protection Dumbledore is trying to give them. Bloody idiots can't see past their own bloody noses they're so stuck up. *deep breaths* Ranting sure feels grand! lol And what saddens me the most is that Harry is still longing for acceptance from his aunt Petunia... Hmmm, well, I'll stop mumbling, praise you again -Excellent! Brilliant! Another wonderful chapter! Bravo! - and I'll ask you to please update soon!

Wow I'm actually using this.
Just one thing, not sure if this is correct or if I remember it from something else but... Didnt't Harry recieve swimming lessons after Dudders decided to not take them. Harry had been forced to go through with them I think.
Saturday 11th December 2004 07:47Harry Potter and the Curse of the Damned (Author Response)
I think you must be remembering another fanfiction.  Harry saved Ron in the second task, but that was because of the Gillyweed.  When he was in the prefect's bath, he had a monologue in his head about being able to do a few strokes, but not being able to swim.  Aunt Petunia had Dudley take lessons, but not Harry, and he thought she'd prefer if he would just drown.

Harry Potter and the Curse of the Damned

This is a wonderful chapter.  I especially liked the interplay between Tonks and Remus, and Tonks tweaking Harry as well.  The claustrophobia was a very nice touch, and -- coupled with the flashbacks -- was spot on.  Remus' coping mechanism, the two separate Wormtails, was exceptionally well done as well.

I was surprised at Harry's apparent physical vitality, which was greater than I expected; but I'm not sure by now how long he's been at Privet Drive.  Still, that's a very minor quibble.

You're going very well indeed on this story.  A bit darker so far, but given where they've all been that's necessary, isn't it?  I'm glad you're back, and very glad to see this chapter.  Here's hoping that your muse cooperates.

Friday 10th December 2004 22:00Harry Potter and the Curse of the Damned (Author Response)

Well, Harry's been out of the hospital for over two weeks at this point, so he's better and able to handle some shopping.  Remember, Harry always seems to heal fairly quickly.  He's still on a NO MAGIC restriction, which will be significant.

I know it's darker than PoE, but it kind of had to be, given what I did to him and the fact that a 7th year story has to include quite a bit of death.  I'm going to try and include plenty of light moments as well.

I love your work! and this chapter is no exception

A few bits of info on the Tube ; if the Leaky Cauldron is on Charring Cross Road then the two nearest tube stations are Leicester Square or Tottenham Court Road. Either way it's quicker to walk up to Oxford Street (where TCR is anyway) and then along to Harrods. But then again who would take a boy of Harrys age to Harrods? *laughs*, there are far more interesting places to go. One last point if they did go on the Central Line then then it would be hotter on the Tube than outside, believe me .

Update agin soon .

Oops, sorry about that.  It's been, OMG, I don't even want to tell you how many years since I've been to London!  I was 20, and I'll leave it at that!

Harrod's may not be hip, but neither is Harry.  Simple jeans and T-shirts kind of guy, and that can be found at Harrods.

Awesome as always Melindaleo! I see many things  coming up for our hero.

The only thing I see for the inhabitants of #4 Privet Drive is perhaps a Vernon colored Quidditch ball container for Dobby--Poor Vernon, he is so stupid, he deserves it. My imaginings of vernon hiding behind a door frame while wee Dobby shakes his finger at him before he sends him out of the room is priceless..

Keep up the great work,

Takon

I haven't had a chance to review thus far, but I'm still around, and still enjoying your work immensely!!

This chapter is especially moving in sooo many ways -- Harry's reactions to being closed in, and the interactions between Harry and Remus (and Tonks, too) are wonderful.  I love how he knows he can talk to Remus, even when it's so hard to do it.

Keep up the good work -- and glad you had such a great trip!  We got to go to DisneyWorld in June, and had a blast, too!

I'm glad you're still pleased, hope you continue to enjoy.  Don't you just love Disney.  My kids already want to go back.  When I told them I hadn't been for 8 years my 7-year old was HORRIFIED.  He's like, "How old will I be in 8 years?"  He didn't like that answer at all, grin.

Harry Potter and the Curse of the Damned

Great chapter. Not much to comment.

On another note, (in case you haven't heard yet) the "Hermione's age" issue has been resolved. Looks like she pulled a George Lucas on us. She approved something done by someone else (CoS DVD Timeline) only to change it later on. Turns out Hogwarts students do have to be eleven at the start of term, and that Hermione's the eldest.  Good thing too, because in my fics Hermione's older than the boys as well.

Welcome back!

That was awesome. I loved this new chapter.

Remus and Tonks are great together, and I loved all the teasing and flirting between them.

About this last bit, with Vernon trying to strangle Harry...  I really hopw Dobby tells somebody so Remus and Weasleys show him how dangerous a wizard can be.

Well, gotta run. Update soon, please. :)
