Sigh... how great! I have butterflies in my stomach after reading this. I'm just warm and happy. You've done a wonderful job. I enjoy reading from this perspective every once and a while. It's different and breaks up the monotony of 3rd person narratives. Personally, I'm glad you didn't reveal the gifts- it lets our own imagination take over.
