I think you wrote Luna amazingly. It was really good, and I loved it. I really fell in love with it!

I never thought of how similar Luna and Dumbledore really are. And I love that quip at the end with Filch!

Well, I didn't really either, until my beta got me to look at Luna and Dumbledore again - I'm glad she did, I love this little interaction. And I always love to tease Filch!

wow! this makes me think of luna in a completely different light. you know, i think that Luna just sees adn thinks things that are true and that she speaks the truth, but since no one else does that, they all think that she is insane... lol
‘And, what is more, it is true,’ said her great-great-great-grand uncle, or was he her seventeenth cousin, forty-twice removed? ‘Never give up –’ he went on, ‘you may find that support comes from unexpected places.

lol loved this
Every Monday morning Filch entered the library, dustpan and brush in hand, grumbling to himself about the mysterious mess that appeared on the shelves each week without fail. As he made his way down the stacks on this particular day an intriguing thought occurred to him. What if Irma conjured the mess on purpose, just to make sure he dropped by the library at the start of each week? He finished the job with considerably less grumbling and a somewhat lighter step.

somebody's got a crush!!!! lol

I totally agree with you about Luna - I think you've got her spot-on! Thanks for your great reviews. I hope you have read the final chapter - Jimmy is my favourite of all these chapters.

Brilliant job. I loved Luna and Dumbledore's interaction. He was such a sweet person. Always considerate to everyone, even Luna Lovegood. I like how he said he liked her commentary. Aww I miss Dumbledore.

Well, my favourite little thing about this one is the crazy Filch/Pince thing at the end, though I love "...even if it's raining" at the beginning. Another great one from you, T, and I return the general frown with a very direct poked-out tongue. *g*. I don't want to *know* what you were thinking of doing with the magic mushroom.... lucky you didn't ask me for any ideas, who knows where that would have taken us. Lol funny, once again! T.

Thanks, T, I can always count on you for a poked-out tongue! Glad you enjoyed the extra little bit you didn't see the first time round. And also thanks again for your help with Dumbledore - who's the old, wise one now? T.

An excellent job portraying Luna--she spouts forth lots of silliness, then suddenly states a most penetrating truth. The portion about Death Eaters was so insightful and sounded like what Luna would come up with.

Thank you for your kind words. The Death Eaters was where I started with this one, so I was quite attached to Luna's understanding of that situation (that, along with what on earth she would be doing with cat litter!). Thanks for your review, it put a smile on my face!

Great chapter. It was funny and gave me a lot to think about. Luna is difficult to write without sounding corny or over the top, but I think you pulled it off very nicely. Again, I liked the way you had Dumbledore interact with his student, it was very believable and touching.

Oh, that's just how I was hoping Dumbledore would come across - this was the most difficult of the chapters to write, so reviews like yours make it all worthwhile - thank you for your encouragement.

Ladybug, it's amazingly fun to be your beta.  You have excellent ideas and a wonderful way with words.  You're also not SO married to your work they way you set it down initially that I don't dare suggest anything.  Quite the contrary, you're a marvelous one for give and take.  You all should know that Ladybug agonized over the character portrayals for this scroll.

I like Gioia's comment about "quiet little moments."  That's what I like best about this series, as well.  It's nothing earth shakingly dramatic; instead it's completely character driven.  It's quite obvious that you agonize over getting just the right tone for each character.  I'd see that even if I weren't your beta.  It's next to impossible not to be fascinated by the in depth analysis of the HP characters in this series.  It's as though we were allowed to sit down for a nice chat with each of them and truly get to know them.  It's a very comfortable, homey kind of feeling.  After each scroll I feel like I've found a new friend.  St Margarets writes that way, as well.  And to say you're on par with St M. is one of the highest compliments I can offer.

Heavens, Tante, I am speechless!

But I also would like to let the rest of you know that Tante has received the Order of Merlin for her services to fan fiction and she should wear it proudly! Thank you for your dedication to the task, on this chapter especially.

This is so Luna!  I love how she's taking care of the library, performing her weekly ritual at just the right time to keep the mites at bay.  I also enjoyed her conversation with Dumbledore very much, especially the part about her commentary at the Quidditch match and how she made it a memorable one for the spectators because of her unique perspective.  Well done!  I look forward to your next chapter with great anticipation.

Thank you, Arnel, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. You should know it was your last review that made me examine this chapter again and try to bring more depth to it - and so the whole Quidditch commentary discussion arose. Thanks for reviewing again - it's greatly appreciated.

I thought this was fantastic.  Too many Luna fics either make her seem brilliant and wise beyond reason, or else stark raving mad.  You achieved that careful balance here.  The speech about Death Eaters was dead on; sounded exactly like her!

Your intuitive grasp of how Dumbledore and Luna might have interacted was also very, very good.  His gentle reassurances, his kindness in ignoring the silliness (like the cat liter she's sprinkling or the antennae in DE's heads) felt just so.

I think the reason I like this series so much may be because you don't attempt these grand, dramatic moments or interpretations of the characters.  Instead, because of the truthful feeling of your characters, I feel like we're seeing some of the quiet little moments that got snipped out of HBP.

Oh goodness! What a wonderful review - thank you very much. It was a bit tricky finally getting that balance for Luna and also working out just how Dumbledore would relate to her, and my beta Tante has a big hand in that, so I'm delighted by your response - that's everything I was hoping to achieve. (I think I'll frame this review and put it on my wall!)

Filch and Madam Pince? That always seemed a bit strange to me, but that last little scene with Filch was - cute (hardly the word for Filch...).
Luna's dottiness was perfect (never mind the clichés). :-)

cute - hahaha! Thanks so much, I'm pleased it sounded right to you - it was fun to get into Luna's mind and see what goes on there (tee hee)!
