wht does he say? Really loved the story, if it were a book I would be turning the pages to find the last line which would state harrys response. But than again JKR leaves us hanging like that also.

Aww! Yay for Dudley! And yay for Harry, too! This was a lovely interlude for me between homework assignments. Thanks!

Oh wow...that was excellent. It contained so much hope! And I love that the thing they used as a first connection was Quidditch...it's so fitting. And I positively adored Ginny, she's so stern and angry and protective. Truly excellent. And I don't remember if it was THIS chapter or not...but kilt and tube top? *laughs hysterically* What a great image! PLEASE write more of this...a sequel perhaps???

We'll have to thank Kokopelli for the tube top part, it was originally a tank top but he convinced me to change it a bit. I'm glad you like it though.
As for a sequel...we'll see.

I like that you've ended on a hopeful note for Harry and Dudley. It's just so awful that he can't have any real family in canon, that it's nice to see something redeemable in a family member of his.

Great little story - your action scenes were captivating and I love seeing Harry in recovery with Ginny! A bit unfair for Dudley, though, that Harry didn't know or acknowledge that Dudley had eventually pushed him out of the way of the curse. Perhaps he'll find out later and it will help their slow progress to mutual understanding. Oh, and I don't see why helping Petunia and Dudley to visit the hospital is making decisions on behalf of Harry - wouldn't preventing them from visiting also be making decisions on Harry's behalf, without his consent? I guess I just don't see that the adults' behaviour is as manipulative as Ginny seems to think. Well written - I hope you share more with us.

I never thought about the fact that Harry probably won't find out that Dudley helped him by pushing him out of the way. It wasn't specifically stated but Harry doesn't know it was something Dudley did to save him. Course, at least Harry didn't punch Dudley in the head like Harry got in book 5.

The adults’ manipulation of Harry comes from the complete lack of decision from Harry. I agree it would be unfair to Harry if they denied Petunia and Dudley's visit without consulting Harry but they don't do that either. Instead they didn't tell Harry about the visit because they assumed he would say no. But if P&D were already there then it would be in Harry's personality to at least give them a chance. That is what the adults are hoping he will do. While well intentioned, this pattern of behavior from them has yet to consistently yield positive results (if ever.)

Ginny is angry because they didn't let Harry decide to accept or deny their request to visit, she sees that it was his decision to make and no one else’s.

I’m glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate the review. Sometimes, when I work with a story for long enough, I lose the ability to see that everything is coming across as I intend it to.

I sincerely hope there is more to this story. You captured my attention with the first chapter and have held it throughout the following two chapters. Your command of each of the characters makes them very real to the point that I'm even beginning to think there is hope for Dudley!

As for this chapter, I have seen Molly Weasley described as a mother tigress who fiercely protects her young, and your depiction of Ginny's ferocious defense of Harry in this chapter is just as intensely ardent. You do a fine job of showing how much Harry means to her when she threatens Dudley with bodily harm!

I must admit that I admire your Dudley; he's showing a maturity of character that I find lacking in canon, especially since he has talked Petunia into accompanying him to St. Mungo's and is willing to show an interest in Harry for what has to be the first time in his life. It takes courage to admit you're wrong and to admit it in person to the one you have wronged; your Dudley has taken that step and I truly hope that the line that he and Harry have crossed will develop into something akin to understanding and acceptance.

Thank you for posting this story on PS. I'm going back to the beginning to read it all over again.

Thanks so much for the review and I'm very glad you've enjoyed this story so much. I was pretty nervous about posting my first story but so far there has been a lot of support and encouragement and that is very helpful.

I have another partly written story with Dudley that I hope to post sometime this year. I was glad to see in book 6, Dumbledore pointing out how Petunia and Vernon have really left Dudley completely unprepared for life and how much damage there is. The optimistic side of me can't help but try and give him a chance to redeem himself.

Hehehe, I love your interpretation of Ginny. I almost wanted to see Dudley try something, just for the effect.

I was tempted to unleash Ginny on Petunia ;-)

What a good first story. I really enjoyed reading. It screams for a sequel...you realize that, right? I like that Harry did not totally forgive Dudley right away, but he's willing to give him a chance. I also wonder what was going on in the hall with Petunia and the others. Yet another scenario for a story. So many possibilities! Keep up the good work.

If I ever came up with a good idea for "the hallway scene" I might write it as a compliment but it would probably be short. If any good ideas come to me I will consider a sequel but at this point I'm turning my attention to other story ideas that have been floating around.

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing.

It`s very good. But there is so much more that could be in this story. Why stop here?

This story was actually only one chapter originally but I added two more as the story evolved. I will probably use it as the beginning of a "7th year" story if I ever do one but I don't see that happening in the near future.

Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Nice ending. God, I loved Ginny's fierce protectivness. Thank Goodness someonw finally told the rest of the Order off for springing that on him in the hospital. I knew Harry would let him in, but I liked how he made Dudley work for it, and that it was Quidditch that thawed him a bit

You kept it realistic by not making it a sweeping all of a sudden turnaround, but more of a "let's take it one step at a time". I'm not willing to forgive Vernon or Petunia, but I like to think there's hope for Dudley when he's out from under thier influence all the time.

Good to see you think the progress between Harry and Dudley is believable. I definately wanted them to be taking it slow. Overall I wanted this story to be the beginning of Dudley really "seeing" his parents and their treatment of Harry and actually seeing Harry for who he really is and not just what Vernon and Petunia say he is.

Thanks for reading and reviewing
