I love the christmas cookies. Ah, Harry and Rudolph (hmmm... I thought this was supposed to be Harry and Ginny )
Ah, the snow fort scene tells us that Ginny very definitely should listen to the mirror. But alright already, you two, just acknowledge your feelings
I guess its been awhile and I haven't kept up with this. Sorry. I trully enjoyed the absent-ithe scene. So Harry finally gets the girl and doesn't get the chance to remember it. Rather pathetic fellow, isn't he? |
Wednesday 26th July 2006 13:15 | The Eyes Have It (Author Response) |
Thanks very much for taking the time to review.
I'm glad you enjoyed the cookes and the absent-ithe scenes - they were a hoot to write. I often wish it truly existed - especially after I've written something I'd rather forget!!
Oh no, our Harry is pathetic - just a bit misguided. If he remembered - there'd be no more story, and then were would we be?
Thanks again for the review. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
Take care,

"The only problem was, no one else was drinking, and more importantly, there was no wine in her glass. "
-snort- Quite brilliant, though I must say the rest of this piece is just thoroughly enjoyable! I would copy and paste *all* my favorite lines but for fear of leaving a ridiculously long review of virtually the entire thing. Cheers, and I'm absolutely thrilled to see more!

Hi Delani!
Oh, never, never worry about long reviews!!!
I'm so glad you're enjoying the story. Ch. 4 should be up soon.
I laughed a lot myself writing Auntie Muriel. Haven't we all suffered with someone like her at a holiday meal? Eek, I remember the cheek pinchers.
Thanks again for taking the time to review. You're the best.
Cheers,

Hello southpaw,
Ah... the trouble with cliffies!
We've got 2 more chapters to go, and I can't promise we're out of the cliffie woods yet.
Thanks so much for reviewing. You won't believe how appropriate your chose of "dreams" is. Read on!

I loved it!!
I LOVED it!!
But do they remember????? Your killing me here with the the cliff hanger or sorts.
This story is a blast to read. |
Monday 26th June 2006 13:21 | The Eyes Have It (Author Response) |
Dear acciobook,
Hello! I'm so glad you're liking the story. What a smart question. Will they remember? Both of them? One of them? Will it matter?
Ch. 4 will be up soon. And with it comes a lot more to remember.
Let me know what you think. And thanks again for taking the time to review.
You're wonderful.
Cheers,

Ladybug Monday 26th June 2006 04:30 | The Eyes Have It |
Oh my! I've already read it through twice very slowly savouring every word. It's all delicious - deliciously funny, deliciously fluffy and deliciously good all the way. Keep up the great work! |
Monday 26th June 2006 13:19 | The Eyes Have It (Author Response) |
Dear Ladybug,
You're the best. Thanks for the great review. I feel like smiling. Actually I feel that happiness you get when you find a ladybug in your garden!
This was a fun piece to write. I do love H&G. And I love a good romance, don't you? It's a stable of my "escape reading."
Thanks again. I think you'll love Ch. 4, which will prove much more romantic.
Take care,
hwimsey |
Evelyn Monday 26th June 2006 04:22 | The Eyes Have It |
Loved it. Loved it. Loved it.
The part where she leant against his leg was so sweet, the part when she bent over him in the snow was even sweeter, but of course, the part where they kissed was best of all. Pity they don't remember.
The only thing I wonder about is how it can take them so long now to get together properly if they're already flirting so heavily by Christmas. |
Monday 26th June 2006 13:11 | The Eyes Have It (Author Response) |
Hi Evelyn,
Thanks for reviewing again. I should say I love, I love, I love return reviewers. (Like Darcy in the latest P&P movie) *sigh*
They are flirting, that's true. But remember - Harry has Ron to worry about as well as his own sense of honor. But honestly, if it were me, I'd be in a broomcupboard by now.
The road to love never runs smooth. But we'll get there - eventually.
Thanks again for the lovely review.
Take care,
hwimsey |
critmo Monday 26th June 2006 03:27 | The Eyes Have It |
Fluffy as fluffy gets. But shouldn't you change the label from "Post-HBP" to AU? |
Monday 26th June 2006 13:06 | The Eyes Have It (Author Response) |
Oh critmo,
You are a wicked taskmaster. This is my first piece of FF so I wasn't sure of the categories to tell the truth. Placing it within the HBP timeframe has its inherent limitations. In truth it should be post OP.
The piece I'm submitting to the contest is pure gothic - dark and romantic. Not a bit of fluff (well perhaps a little ) Some take their tea with lemon, others with sugar.
Take care,
hwimsey
P.S. How did LP take his tea?? Bonus question. |
daniel_r_crazy22 Sunday 25th June 2006 21:45 | The Eyes Have It |
I loved it. If I was Harry, I would have wrote a note discribing it and did the same for Ginny, so they didn't forget and like yeah. |
Sunday 25th June 2006 22:34 | The Eyes Have It (Author Response) |
Hello daniel r crazy22,
Now that is a good thought, isn't it. You are far too smart!
But would they believe it???
Not to worry. Who says they will continue to forget??
Thanks for taking the time to review. Glad you like the story. Let me know what you think of the rest.
Cheers,

lorgbb Sunday 25th June 2006 21:40 | The Eyes Have It |
Oh Hermione, you\'d be able to tell me what to do, Ginny\'s mind cried. But since Ron had decided to thrash about like eels, swapping adenoids with that ridiculous, brainless Lavender Brown, she had no one to turn to this Christmas. She\'d rather braid Snape\'s hair than confide to her mother about this. She could imagine her reaction. \"Oh, that\'s nice dear. He was probably wiping some dirt off your face. Such a sweet boy. But what do you mean, young lady, with that kind of irresponsible flying! I have enough to worry about without you getting yourself admitted to St. Mungo\'s. Now go set the table.\"
This paragraph had me laughing hysterically! well actually, almost the entire chapter had me laughing like that. Heck, I think it all did. I\'d quote everything that made me laugh but it would be almost the same as just quoting the entire chapter. God knows I love a good comedy, but reading almost never makes me laugh. Can\'t hold true to that here though
Honestly though, this chapter is by far the best so far (not that I didn\'t enjoy the other two, this one just completely outdid them). I quote myself and say that I love the analogies you make, you claimed they were tough to do but it seems they come naturally to you, they all make perfect sense and just seem to fit.
And of course, the harry/ginny moments are always a great plus, fluff is so... fluffy I love the way youve managed to put all the fluff and fun together. This is definitely one of the best fics I\'ve read so far, and I\'m pretty sure it can only get better.
Well that\'s by far my longest review ever , but I think it\'s still too small to put together how much I\'m enjoying this, hehe. Keep up the great work, I\'ll be waiting for the next update ^^
ack your lame reviewer chewed me up |
Sunday 25th June 2006 22:31 | The Eyes Have It (Author Response) |
Hello again lorgbb!
Well, after I stopped cackling manically, I decided to respond to your review. You are beyond lovely. I want to bronze you and keep you in my living room for when things get bad.
I love to write comedy. Elements of this chapter still make me chuckle. This is a fluff piece but my love of the gothic can't get me too far from angst. I'm submitting a piece to the contest that is pure gothic, and I had a hard time keeping the comedy out. But it just wouldn't fit. My next FF piece will be back to formula though.
I'm honored that this is your longest review. Probably one of my longest replies. And I turned off the lame reviewer in your honor. You should be able to write without censoring!!
Please keep reading, and let me know how you like the rest. Till then,
Take good care,
hwimsey |
Felix Felicis Sunday 25th June 2006 20:03 | The Eyes Have It |
Awesome! I have to admit that I smiled through the whole read. Yes, I did indeed. Simply marvelous. Once again, so many wonderful lines I can't name them all, starting with the conversation with the mirror. Harry loves her hair down, and completely loses his senses when it cascades down on him during the snowball fight - perfect! One of my other favorites is: Was he actually flirting with her? Or had a block of snow become lumped in her ear? Knocking her head to one side... And this is classic Fred and George: Because, oh Chosen One," Harry rolled his eyes as Fred continued... Your style is so fresh, even with material that's been covered before. I have a feeling you could take even the most boring, dull subject and with the twist of a few words, make it interesting and fun. In fact, that's a great way to describe your story - interesting and fun. Can't wait for the next bit! |
Sunday 25th June 2006 22:22 | The Eyes Have It (Author Response) |
Hello Felix Felicis,
How are you? It's great to hear from you again. Thanks so much for your kind review. I'm blushing, feel like I've taken a shot of Absentithe myself.
Seriously, I am so thankful that you took the time to review and tell me what you liked. You have been such a kind reviewer - I'd write the world for you!
I enjoy writing comedy. But at the same time I enjoy a dark romance - so I tried to combine the two here. I don't think anyone has complimented my writing as nicely as you have. I almost cried. Thank you.
Ch 4 has it funny moments but we move into the more romantic elements of the story. Hope you enjoy. Let me know what you think. Till then,
Take care,
hwimsey |

Wasn't the mistletoe funny? Just sucking, and sucking...

Wooster Sunday 25th June 2006 17:26 | The Eyes Have It |
WHOA! That was great! Very good. And that was the most EXCELLENT snowball fight in the history of the universe.
What a cruel idea though! Having that kiss and having them forget. Really great, but cruel, idea.

Sunday 25th June 2006 18:43 | The Eyes Have It (Author Response) |
Hi Wooster!
Thanks so much for reviewing again. I adore returning reviewers. You keep me going.
I'm so glad you're enjoying the story. Wasn't the snowball fight fun? Makes me think of what they would be like as Aurors together. Kind of like the old Avengers series.
Sorry to be cruel, but not to worry...we'll eventually get to that kiss. Right?
Take care,
hwimsey |

She'd rather braid Snape's hair than confide to her mother about this.
Heh! Cracked me up. If it is original, my highest compliments. If you borrowed it, please tell me where did this come from. |
Sunday 25th June 2006 18:31 | The Eyes Have It (Author Response) |
Dear crucio,
Yes, of course it's original! I enjoy writing comedy. And when I thought up that line, I knew I had to use it somewhere in this story.
So I'm taking your compliment and running with it!!
Thanks for reviewing. There's a line in Ch 5 I think you're going to like, if you liked this one. But, I could be wrong....
Cheers,

cwarbeck Sunday 25th June 2006 16:52 | The Eyes Have It |
Oh, oh, oh. I can hardly breathe for laughing. You should not be allowed to do this to someone so early in the morning (at least where I live).
I can\'t decide which part I like best - Ron and Lavender swapping adenoids, Rudolph the red-nosed cookie scampering away, Harry imagining being on nappy duty, Fleur\'s tortured \"Beel!\", the bloody brilliant Absent-ithe (I want some!), or Harry\'s hasty \"Like a sister!\" - so I\'ll just say I love them all.
But the best parts of course, are the H/G moments - Ginny\'s silent contemplation of Harry in the hospital wing (poor Harry, still holding back his feelings even while asleep), that almost kiss in the snow, the passionate kissing post Absenth-ithe, the delicious torture these two put themselves through as they try to hold their feelings back - it makes the anticipation of them finally getting together almost as fun as them actually getting together.
Sorry for the gushing review, but can you tell that I *heart* this chapter? And that I\'m a hardcore H/G shipper?
Update soon, pretty please! |
Sunday 25th June 2006 18:22 | The Eyes Have It (Author Response) |
Dear cwarbeck,
No, I'm the one who can hardly breathe. I shouldn't get such a great review like this. I nearly fell off the couch. You are wonderful.
I had so much fun writing this chapter. Especially the mistletoe scene.
Yes, I am a hardcore H/G shipper also. I am drawn to his vulnerability and her battle with her feelings. Do I love? Do I dare to believe it?
NEVER, apologize for gushing. Gush, gush, gush to your heart's content. (I'll clean up )
I'm very excited to see how you like the next chapter, if you like'd the H/G moments of this chapter.
Please let me know what you think. I love to write for readers like you.
Take care,
hwimsey |
