And On the Eighth Day?
I don't get why Harry's getting so much flack, at least from Gryffindors, who should be on his side. Granted the antipathy against Slytherin in canon, there is also the soritng hat song; and the war is over. With Voldemort gone, there should be less fear of Slytherin. And I'm a little surprised Malfoy is still there (I know, this is AU ). With the end of Voldie, I would think he would have stuck his tail between his legs and ran . I can see Susan upset, because she wants Harry as her date, but I would think most of the others would care less or sympathize with Harry for getting stuck with detention at the end of his last year (I guess that's how things work in AU ).
Wow that was a bit weird with Myrtle and the different end to the chamber. But Harry rescued Ginny -- how romantic .

Fear of Slytherin? I think its more hatred. And to associate with someone who is known as trouble is going to cause problems. These are kids who are not going to act according to reason.

And On the Eighth Day?
This really is one of the best AU stories I've ever read. The way you balance between AU and Canon is quite impressing. I simply love fics with forbidden love or where Harry and Ginny are dead enemies, and this has both! I like it, and I'm really looking forward to the next chapter. But how many chapters are there going to be, seven or eight?

Pettigrew reminded me of the leader of a paedophile ring. (and a poor leader at that). I was getting some particularly nasty vibes about him! Meanwhile Harry managed to hold his own and get the hell out of the place, with Ginny as well. Susan's hoping that Harry will propose, but meantime holding hands with Justin? Harry is too lazy to dump her so he is letting Justin move in?
How shallow are they all!
Hehe...love it.

I'll get this response right soon!

PP is based on Timothy Spall's portrayal in the films.

Susan's hoping that Harry will propose, but meantime holding hands with Justin? Harry is too lazy to dump her so he is letting Justin move in?

The idea of a proposal comes from Justin. You can imagine Susan crying to her friends ' but we were going to get married!'

I think its clear that Harry's attention is now elsewhere and Justin offers an easy way out for him. Teenage boys eh?

Thanks for reviewing.

Justin F-F as Bertie Wooster ... well, why not? (although your quote could hae been form any of several dozen Woodehouse stories or novels.) I still think Susan would hae been better of with Hermione, though).

Peter and the rats, nicely done. More than nice, actually, one of the cleverest bits of taking canon to a logical, if unexpected concluison I've ever seen. AU at it's best. And I loved Myrtle.

Point of view -- yes, stick with just Harry and let the truth about Ginny be a mystery for awhile. Good choice.

Not in a million years, howeer, in this or any other universe, however, alternate, can I imagine Ron Weasley using the word 'whomever.'

Happily looking forward to more.

Nope. try 'a face so full of spots that there was hardly room for the sullen look she gave him.' I've worked with enough people like Justin so he's based on them.

I'll blame that either on Hermione or a beta

Pettigrew and his rats were creepy, but so was Moaning Myrtle. Susan and Justin are perfect together. So are Ginny and Harry.

just a quickie here to say,

the ratman makes me ill and I can't wait for the Weasleys apolises to Ginny over her par in the war. I'm a 100% certain that she was not a DE.

Harry can be with a Slytherin, especially if its Ginny, but not a DE.

Poor old Peter, he's not creep, he's just written that way

You'll have to wait until chapter 6 to find out

Wow! What an AU! You were not kidding about things being different. I almost feel like I'm reading about someone's dream - or should I say nightmare!

You have taken the HP universe and completely re-worked it and made it believeable. That takes talent!

Poor Ginny. I suspect there is something really big in her story and I look forward to seeing her getting the GOOD credit she deserves for whatever it is. I hope it's good, because her own family seem to have disowned her. If her family suspected her of giving up members of the Order to Voldemort and she was innocent, she is a strong person to keep herself together.

Ginny fainted? I just don't buy that! In canon and your AU, she is tough! I know, we'll find out at the end.

Susan and Justin deserve each other. I'm not sure Harry deserves Ginny. Ginny, however, seems to want Harry.

Until next week . . . You could update earlier - HINT! HINT!

That my friend is the crux of the plot. What, if anything, did Ginny do?

There were times when I wished I was wrtiting from two poins of view, but as I wasn't you'll just have to take this on face value.

Susan and Justin deserve each other. I'm not sure Harry deserves Ginny. Ginny, however, seems to want Harry.

If Harry ends up with Ginny, they will both deserve each other.

You weren't kidding with the "playing fast and loose with canon" statement at the beginning of chapter one. The teachers killed the Basilisk? The diary never happened? Oh dear lord, this is the purest defintion of an Alternate Universe. Keep on writing though...I want to see how things turn out.

Yeah I'm playing fast and loose, twisting canon to suit my purposes.

I've been horrible about reviewing, but I have to say that this is highly entertaining. It makes me wonder how your brain works (I could never in a million years come up with something like this), but it's still entertaining.

I was about to deck Justin on Harry's behalf. Not because of the Susan thing, (but only because Harry doesn't seem to fussed about it--and honestly, I think he's well shut of her anyway, even if this wasn't going to end up H/G ), but because of his holier-than-thou pompous attitude. People like that make my skin crawl.

And speaking of skin crawling...

I'm with Art (I think it was Art), when he said he felt the need to wash his hands after reading about Pettigrew. *shudder* He is creepy and nasty.

LOL about Ron and his conversation with Harry. That was too much information.

No, I overheard a conversation between Mum and Dad about Ginny’s role in the war. She was suspected of shopping a few members of the Order to Riddle’s mob.

Something tells me that Ron doesn't know the whole story. Will we learn more about this?

Definitely a fun read!

Is that a polite way of saying I'm mad?

Poor Justin. I think he's been very proper about it all and Susan is such a sweet girl. Still you're right ,Susan is a bit dull for Harry.

Something tells me that Ron doesn't know the whole story. Will we learn more about this?

Only if I post the last two chapters.

Thanks for sticking with it and reviewing.

Wow - going AU into the Marauder-era as well. Very interesting.

I loved this line "I would have thought, Harry, that you’d have learned your lesson about playing with fire after taking on that dragon in the Triwizard Tournament" - great stuff. And can't forget the great public humiliation of Draco in the Great Hall!

Can't wait to see what you've got in store for us next. Some of the storyline's a bit confusing, but the overall is what I keep coming back for!

And On the Eighth Day?
Peter Pettigrew had almost caused his father’s death when he’d lured an over-inquisitive James Potter down the tunnel leading to Remus Lupin under the influence of the full moon.
That was seriously AU...

Interesting chapter. I loved the whole Justin bit. He really had me laughing. But I suppose Susan deserves him.

And Ron... Poor Harry. That was far too much information.

So Ginny was the damsel in distress after all, despite verything she said first? Somehow, I can't imagine she'll be too happy about that later.

Looking forward to the next chapter.

I agree with art, what does that sentence mean? I reread a few times, but I was still lost.

So the twists and turns still continue- Interesting perspective you've got there with Pettigrew and Myrtle. Will we be seeing more of them in the coming chapters?

Looking forward to its continuation.

Oh, is this only his saving people thing or maybe something more? I really liked how you let things develop in this chapter. It's nice to see that Ginny finally calls Harry by his first name - might this be a sign? And Harry's relationship with Susan isn't going too well, so he might find someone who's better for him... It's great how you build in Myrtle - I take it that CoS didn't happen, otherwise Harry would know her - and make Ginny's character a real Slytherin.

The conversation between Harry and Ron was wonderful, after what Ginny said in the last chapters his last lines came as a surprise.

I'm looking forward to an update! Great work - this was the very firt AU-fic I actually enjoyed!

Sorry, but I have no idea what this means:

"She was suspected of shopping a few members of the Order to Riddle’s mob."

Otherwise, this was alright. Kind of a connecting chapter, in feel. Pettigrew is a bit slimy feeling, think I'd like to wash my hands off after being around him.

Sorry, but I have no idea what this means:

if you shop someone, then you inform on them. It comes from the 1890s. So I could have written, 'she was suspected of betraying a few memebrs of the Order to the Death Eaters,' but that was too simple

Otherwise, this was alright. Kind of a connecting chapter, in feel.

I'll try harder next time
