This was different. I like the fact that Harry has a family with Ginny and two children with one more on the way. It is interesting to think of Harry reminising every year over the end of the battle. Thanks so much for writing. Very well done. p

Very nice.

Very nice, indeed.

I see you couldn't keep Snape and Harry apart even outside of your darker pursuits.

I really liked this fic and you deserved to win. Great job.

Casey! I thought maybe you'd been carried away by thestrals or something. Very good to see you!

Heh, yeah, well, I suppose my "darker pursuits" have had a bit of an influence, but I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the story anyway.

Seriously, drop a girl an email, let me know what you've been up to!

And thanks for the review!

excellently done. I do hope we get to findout what drives Snape, but if we don't I thinkthis is a perfect possible outcome!

Thank you, glad you liked it! Yes, I hope we get a better understanding of his motivations, but I'm not going to hold my breath for it.

Ah, should have known it was you. Who else writes the best Harry and Snape around town?

Great job, J, love the premise of the story. I also enjoyed the back story as well as the flashback. In less than 3000 words, you set each one up beautifully and the detailed account of flashback painted a vivid and moving picture in my mind, making it really come alive.

Wonderful job and congrats on a great story!

oooh how tricky! I love how that wasn't Dumbledore's tomb! The only comment I have was that I couldnt help giggling when I read how you had given Voldemort some sort of "s" problem. haha, definately not what he sounds like. Excellent story, very touching!

It brought him back every year—the hope for answers—and every year he left no more enlightened than when he'd arrived.

I love this sentiment. We can spend our entire lives asking the question and never really finding the answer - but the act of asking can be just as powerful as finding an answer. This is a lovely scene surrounding evocative battle images. Very nicely written and I like your projections for Harry's future.

Interesting piece. Not sure that I could see Snape doing that... but then again, that's what makes it fun. Keeps us (and Harry) guessing. And it's funny that they set up his grave/tomb in a peaceful setting - something he would have been sure to hate.

That was an interesting way of covering the last battle and Snape's part in it. Your action flashback was very vivid. *shudder* I'm glad to end the story with Harry and Ginny and his beautiful daughter. Much happier for this fluff writer.

Thank you! I'm sorry to have taken you down that dark path, but I'm glad you stuck with it to the happy ending.

Actually, that battle scene became more and more graphic as I wrote it, it's the most violence I've ever done---don't know where it came from really. But there it is.

I love the tone of this piece; it's very peaceful in how Harry remembers the fallen. I'm wondering, though, if despite his loathing of Harry whether or not Severus Snape was paying one last debt to Dumbledore by jumping in front of that Killing Curse...hmmm. Nice job, well done.

A nicely wrapped package.

You did a great job of setting the scenes, both present-day as well as the past, and gave a well-rounded ‘epilogue’; if you will.

You provided something that I believe would be typical adult Harry behaviour. Not wanting to be held in the spotlight but far away from the nonsense that people create when celebrating a monumental occasion. Unless, of course, it was the finals of the Quidditch World Cup.

Your depiction of the final confrontation was well thought out as I am sure it took some serious planning to close the doors on several open story sub-plots. A very violent death for a violent offender. Live by the sword… die by the sword, eh?

I’m curious about your motivation to let Wormtail survive and still quirking an eyebrow at the reverence Harry is paying Snape. Although, the jab about Snape hating the way he set up the grave plots was a good addition.

In the end, a touching scene of the rewards that come to those who persevere through the darkness. The joy that can be had when opening up to wonderful possibilities.

~Fantastic effort!~

Thank you so much! What a wonderfully thoughtful review.

As for Wormtail, I just think death is too easy for him, I wanted him to pay for all of the crimes he's committed. Although, I do think that he'll repay his Life-debt to Harry with his own life in canon. And the Snape reverence---weelllllll, I do have my reasons, but the most pertinent would be gratitude, I think.

I'm very glad that you enjoyed my story, and thanks agains for taking the time to tell me what you thought of it.

I liked the question mark of who this person is. And the battle scene was very well done, especially getting to see some players do some uncharacteristic things. Trying not to give it away here. Lovely physcial description as well. And I really was touched by how Harry chose to spend these anniversaries--even though he's moved on and has a life, he'd take time to stop and remember and be grateful. A beautiful fic.
