| lacyrachil Sunday 26th November 2006 19:36 | Reflections | Nice take on this. Even though he is a sniveling, worm of a man. | GryffindorDragon Sunday 5th November 2006 12:56 | Reflections | '16th August, 1958' -- is this a typo? Harry was born in 1980 shortly after his parents finished Hogwarts; the marauders are in the same year so in 1958 they probably weren't born yet (HPWiki gives 1959 or 1960 as James' birth year).
Nice development from that one line in PoA. I think you characterize Wormtail well!
| Nundu Wednesday 1st November 2006 08:24 | Reflections | Interesting. You think the worm's turn hinged on blackmail and his deep caring for the others? He seems to betray them rather deeply if he is looking out for their ultimate best interest.
I also have a question concerning your timeline. If the Marauders are in their upper years in 1958, that would have made Lupin, et al in their mid 50s by 1994. That is far older than any other time line I can recall. | Wednesday 1st November 2006 09:01 | Reflections (Author Response) | I think that it was initially like that -- not as deep as it should have been. But then, after he'd been with the Death Eaters for some time, they'd have been preying on his fears, twisting his preceptions....things of that sort. By the time he betrayed them, he may truly have felt the DE's would kill him if he didn't.
As far as the timeline...I've just realised that I was basing it on a false assumption. VOLDEMORT was at Hogwarts 50 years ago. Not James and his friends. I'll have to have that fixed. Thanks for pointing it out. |
