lol explain to me why Ginny couldn't use magic while pregnant. That always seemed to weird to me when reading your fics. Was it because of the accident? or Is is just something that all witches go through when pregnant?

Good story!!!
Monday 5th January 2009 08:47Quick-Quotes Quill (Author Response)
Yes, you're right - Ginny's accident in NZ Chronicles is what prevents her from doing magic during pregnancy. I wrote quite a few stories in that "universe" and I kept that little "fact" consistent in all of them. Since DH came out, I have dropped that universe and in the subsequent stories Ginny doesn't have that issue. Thanks for reading!

Well it would certainly make her History of Magic notes more interesting to read. A very enjoyable fic

This is a wonderful story. You've captured perfectly the insecure feelings of a thirteen year old girl. Thank you for writing and sharing.

PS: I have enjoyed all of your stories. I really like the direction you took Harry after the fall of Voldamort. I never saw him as a law enforcement type. Emergency medical seems to fit his personality much better.

I'm glad you liked it - even though it's not interview compliant. I'm now writing stories with Harry as an Auror - but it's never the center of the story. He would do it out of duty rather than love and that's never good for a wizard who is going to live 100+ years. Thankfully JKR left him with Ginny and three lively kids to enjoy.

This is a great "future peek" into the life and times of Harry Potter, etc. I like it. It is really easy to visualize Harry as a father and Ginny as his fiery wife. Serafina is an excellent mix of the two of them. Thanks for writing. I really enjoyed this story. p

I'm glad you liked it! I think Harry would be a great dad. I also like to think that his daughter would be the apple of his eye - yet totally incomprehensible at times.

real lovely, I really liked the story haryy talking about his feelings, which are recorded with a quick quote quill. That is double hard talking is hell for him al ready and the quill will remind him of the prophet interviews. Perfect plot.

I'm glad you liked it. I wrote it for the reasons you listed, since it was a challenge piece requiring the use of "Quick-Quote Quill." Teenaged daughters are hard enough - so I though Harry could use a little help. Thanks for reading!

Mr. Potter concluded the interview by reassuring this reporter that she would have a boyfriend someday – but only after her thirtieth birthday.

Oh, that was priceless! As was the idea at the end of having the Quill take notes in History of Magic. Brilliant, that!

I loved this story. Sera made me think of both our girls at that age -- too long ago. I'd say that you captured their desire for some certainty and the emotional roller coaster quite well. Using Harry's point of view was very nicely done. We never know how we're doing as parents until they're grown, if then. Still, there's an underlying sense of family to this piece that's quite optimistic. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Wednesday 17th January 2007 05:58Quick-Quotes Quill (Author Response)
Oh, we don't know as parents, do we? I think the optimism comes from Harry's willingness to try his best and Sera's respect and love for her father (even during the temper tantrum) - with those elements in place, so many trials and tribulations can be avoided. Thanks for reading! This was fun to write so I'm glad others are enjoying it.

What a lovely little story. Again, you manage to catch all the feelings of adolescence so perfectly. Thank-you for a wonderful read! I'm afraid I haven't been following the New Zealand Chronicles- university has been taking up too much time to get immersed in a WIP, but I will do in the summer.

NZ Chronicles will be there (and hopefully complete) when you're finished. But for now I'm glad you had a chance to take a break and read something short and fluffy! (That always perks me up) Thanks for reading!

It's been almost half a year since I last read and reviewed your story. Well, not by my own choice, but I have almost forgotten how wonderful you write.

That's another wonderful story and it reminded me of the time when I was thirteen, had high level of self-consciousness and didn't know how to talk to my dad. And you made them understand each other at leas a little, just by simply talking and sharing feelings. That's great, because it's often so hard in real life.

On the other hand, you didn't change Harry too much. He's still a little shy, and doesn't like to talk too much, epecially about himself. And, of course, still clueless about girls

I believe that it's all those details what makes your stories so great to read. Like
Seraphina, my angel,
one small sentence with so much meaning. And the fact, that all the characters you've created in all other stories fit so perfectly and make their own universe. I almost spilled my tea while reading the part about Davies boys

There was much more I wanted to write about, but don't remember now (I should have taken notes while reading ), so I'll stop here and go to read "New Zealand Chronicles".

Oh, before I forget, I realy wish I had Quick-Quotes Quill during my studies. Maybe then they would be enjoyable
Wednesday 20th December 2006 08:19Quick-Quotes Quill (Author Response)
Oh, you just made my day! First it was great to "see" you again. And second, I'm so glad you got what I was trying to convey. The original title of this was "Talk to Me" and I think that sums up what Sera wanted from her Dad. Harry would go through fire for her, of course, but talking is a whole other matter indeed!

I'm so glad you can have a break from your studies. I'm going to write another story about Seraphenia (and those Davies boys) just because I like her! Thanks for reading!

Aww! That was kinda cute, and funny, especially the end. I don't know why people don't use quills like that in History of Magic in the books.

I felt like Harry was a little out of character though, but the interactions were very realistic.
Wednesday 20th December 2006 05:54Quick-Quotes Quill (Author Response)
Those quills are probably banned! Yes, Harry is very mellow here - but that's the way I hope he is by the time he's forty-five! Thanks for reading!

Excellent writing. Poor harry. If his kids could stay infants forever, he would be ecstatic. I used to feel that way every time I picked up one of my children when they were babies. "If only they didn,t have to grow up". You really hit several nerves with this fic. Awesome as all of your work is. Happy Holidays to you and yours. Jeanne.

This is so good, Mary. Let's pray for a development like this for the Quick-Quotes-Quills. That would put Rita out of business. Sera is lovely, just the perfect hormone ridden teen girl. Good thing I have five more years to prepare before my sweet girl hits that stage. She's already backchatting, though, so it might come sooner? Urgh!

Thanks a bunch - as always.

Cheers!

St. margarets your work is brilliant as usual. I love Sera's name. Will you tell how Harry becomes a mediwizard in a future story? Iam currently reading about him becoming a search and rescue wizard -better than auror .

I know that everyone has to grow up, but I become wistful for some of those stories that you used to write. I guess that ground has already been thoroughly covered. I loved yourWallpaper Moments series

Actually I love everything you write! (at all your sites)

Definately.
You've either got a 13 year old girl, or remember really well what it felt like.
And the Quill?
Loved it. You nailed the "Quill-speak" down right.
Loved the info on everyone in the HP verse.
And Harry's job? Not expected, but nice.

Good work.

That was too precious! Kudos for Sera to coax some feelings out of Harry! Just one question - why did you name her Seraphina? Or is that just in keeping with the Weasleys?

Seraphenia means "firey angel" and that's just the kind of girl I figured H/G would have. I also think Harry has a thing for exotic names since he named his owl "Hedwig." Thanks for reading!

Mary,

How do you do it? Every one of your stories is like this - sometimes lighthearted, sometimes poignant - always satisfying.

This is a great peep into Harry and Ginny's life. Love the tiny hints to life - is this "Ron the remodeler" the same Ron from the Roger & Lisa story?? :-)

I have been so busy - I've just finished my master's degree in November; over the holiday I intend to catch up on all of your wonderful work that I've been saving up to read.

Have a wonderful holiday. Thank you for this great present!

Cheers,

Cassie

Yes, Ron the builder is alive and well in this story. I've posted a little bit of that story on my live journal if you're interested! Thanks for reading and a great holiday to you, too.

As the father of a 13 (going on 25) year old daughter I think you have Sera near perfect! And yes, 30 sounds about the right age for dating.

Thanks for this gentle, lovely story. I still enjoy your "Healer Harry", so unique in fanfic filled with quidditch and Aurors. I guess I have to keep reading teh New Zealand Chronicles to find out Ginny's career.
Tuesday 19th December 2006 06:36Quick-Quotes Quill (Author Response)
I'm glad to hear I got the father/daughter dynamics right. LOL - my father was happy to have me hold off on dating until thirty as well, but alas, there were no all-girl boarding schools handy.

You won't find out Ginny's career for a few more chapters in NZ Chronicles! That's one thing I didn't want to spoil in this fic. Thanks for reading!

Tuesday 19th December 2006 06:23Quick-Quotes Quill (Author Response)
I'm glad you got the "firey angel" reference. Well, Harry is fond of outlandish names and I can see where they could have had a deal that Ginny could name the boys and he could name the girls. Or they both got carried away in the delivery room- which is how kids end up with the strangest names sometimes!

A wonderful look into the future!

I love the Quick-Quotes Quill, new and improved version, that makes notes read like a romance novel. Maybe Seraphina will be a script writer for Days of Destiny, the Next Generation.

Harry is such a good Dad and Sera is perfect, a blend of him and Ginny with a twist all her own. I want to learn more about Daniel, Rafe, and Tony.
