Ginny Weasley and the Goblet of Fire
The "problem" is that you still have Harry stuck with Ginny while going to Gabrielle's school. Perfect opening for a Harry/Gabby story. So far, story is very good.

Oh man, I am really hoping that once they get to Beauxbatons there'll be some good tension involving one Gabrielle Delacour...

Ginny Weasley and the Goblet of Fire
nice chapter poor harry he relly knows how to put his foot in it with style first he finds out he has to go & woories how to tell ginny whichis very much like harry great at the impulse decisons not so good at the ones where he has to think things through. The whol argument strated out small & just took a life of its own which when you have two emotonlly driven charecters like harry & ginny is more often than not the case.

now harry just has to fix this & quick as deep down i think they both know they dodn`t mean half of what was said but was a rather heat of the moment thing. The only thing that relly surprised me is that harry dosent seam to trust ginnys judgment & is way to overprotective of her something i relly wasnt expecting but after all hes been through i gusses he just finds it hard to draw a line particulley with ginny

Understandably, he's worried. Yes, this was a heat of the moment arguement. You'll fins out more about Ginny's motivations in the next chapter. Thanks for reviewing!

Oh Harry! When will you learn to be honest with Ginny.

He's forgotten the magic words that make for a happy relationship, 'Yes Dear!' He better start learning French.

I am so loving how you are deepening the plot. I know there were some serious moments of tension and angst in this chapter, but quite honestly, I was smirking throughout (I just love that term, although I always imagine Emma Watson because no one can smirk like she can) .... including the scenes with McGonagall and Tonks. I remember those high school days when men didn't know they were from Mars and women were from Venus and I'm not really sure who is to blame here. The below female reviewers are digging Harry's hole deeper for him, but he was only procrastinating with lots to think about, but, it was Ginny who tricked him, perhaps even manipulated Harry into saying what he did. Fiery Ginny did get Harry to say too much, and I hope on reflection when she cools down that this ends up just a minor spat.

Poor Harry. Poor, stupid, Harry. Well, you've definitely created some tension here. I like the story so far. It's a really good idea to use the Tri-Wizard Tournament again. My only quibble is that Harry seems to be overreacting a little too much. I mean, when he was in the tournament the tasks were pretty dangerous, but without Barty, Jr. and Voldemort's interference no one would have been killed. Ginny's much more experienced than Harry was then, having lived through the war and all, so it seems like he's blowing the danger a little out of proportion.

I don't mean for it to sound like I don't like the story though. I can definitely see Harry overreacting somewhat, especially since he thought they were finally done with all the dangerous stuff. It's a good, original story, and I can't wait to see where you go with it! Thanks for writing!

Harry may be over-reacting a little too much, but he has been through a lot and just when he think s it's over and things can be quiet for a bit, this happens. There's a part of Harry that longs for the danger, but another part that wants to keep the people he loves safe from it. He's not a good sidelines person and this is going to be hard for him. Traditionally, he's always been the quarterback - the one in the thick of it - and now he's got to trust Ginny to do it all by herself while he sits back and waits. Ginny's fighting for the chance to step out of Harry's shadow and prove herself on her own merit. And the tasks ARE dangerous. Lots of things could happen. But ultimately, Harry is just over-reacting and that's what got him in trouble. Thanks for reviewing!

Harry, Harry, Harry...when are you going to learn to think before you speak? And, when are you gong to learn that you cannot treat Ginny like a piece of property? That she is her own person and can think for herself?

*sighs*

It's going to be an interesting year!

Oh, oh. Harry is in trouble. Not only did he not tell Ginny he had to go to Beaubatons for the year but he tried to tell her what to do. A girl as strong minded as Ginny is not going to take that lying down. Now they have a huge problem between them both and Harry cannot get out of going even if he wants to. I look forward to the next chapter. Thanks for writing. p

This is wonderful!! You are an incredible writer -- and you capture perfectly what is loved so about these books -- the magical humor and the strong personalities of teachers and students alike.

Tonks' terrapin speech and Mcg. reaction was priceless. And I love the way you're laying out the plot -- and the argument at the end. I'm reading it saying, "Just stop now. Don't say another word." It was masterfully done.

So now I'm totally hooked. How many chapters are you planning? Lots and lots I hope. You're amazing.

I always try to balance my angst with some humour. That's what I love about Rowlings work. She can take some nasty pieces of work like the Dursleys and make them funny. I don't feel nearly worthy of your praise considering the company I'm in, but I do thank you for the kind review. Originally I had planned out fifteen chapters but they keep multiplying. Because they're short, I just keep adding to them. I just finished chapter 17 and that was the recap of the First Task, if that tells you anything. I'm going to guess 30 chapters, but there's no telling. The nice thing about this fic is the set structure minus my subplots. We all know there's three tasks. It's what's in between that makes the story, though. You'll just have to trust me. Btw... I'm hoping for another CoE chapter soon. Any chance of that?

I Loved it. (beware of my english... I am french)
I totally understand Harry and his protective attitude
It is going to be fun with Ginny a future champion of the tournament...
I suppose Harry will be one of the judges who do not know about the three tasks so he will feel more than nervous with Ginny in it. And I suppose too that there must be a rule on judge-champion relationship... Mmh, it will be hard...
Hope they both will stay on their own ideas (do not put them together too soon after the break-up please). I love it when they remained so stubborn.
Imagine her mother reaction after her decision.
I would not be too surprised if Ginny received a howler...
That story IS brilliant. Keep on the great work. Bye.

Ah, christel... I saw one of your reviews to hwhimsy and I actually tried to look you up to email you. I may need a technical editor for my French in later chapters. If you're interested, please email me. It's been decades since my two years of high school French, which were dismal if I do say so myself. Of course, most of the speech is Fleur, not French. Eet ez much eezeair, oui? However, I would like certain things to be authentic, so if you're interested in doing some editing drop me a line. Thanks for the review.

Oh, dear.

Poor, poor, stupid Harry.

I'm really enjoying this story, and looking forward to see if Harry can dig himself out of this hole of massive proportions.

Great job!

What has Harry done now? He's only pushing Ginny into it. Either way I think she'd join the delegation so he should just suck it up and back her up. He's dug himself a deep hole and now he needs to get himself out.

I love Tonks as Transfiguration professor. Lovely choice! Now she's going to have a lovely little one. Nice touch having Harry as godfather also.

Lovely chapter. This is shaping up into such a wonderful story. Nicely done!

Great story so far, I'm loving it! I hope you don't keep Harry and Ginny apart for too long; I don't think either of them could take it.

One small quibble: Tonks's father isn't a Muggle, he's Muggle-born.

Can't wait for the next chapter!
Friday 18th May 2007 05:50Ginny Weasley and the Goblet of Fire (Author Response)
Thanks. Btw... I never said he was a Muggle. I called Tonks the half-blood daughter of a Muggle lover. Like Harry, she has one parent who's Muggle born (mudblood). That makes her a half blood. And her mother is a Muggle lover, ie. blood traitor, in the eyes of her family. Just so we're straight... Thanks for the review.
