Since Nott broke the rules of engagement, he is disqualified and CAN NOT go any further. You may want him to for your story, but the situation would not allow it.
It is as bad as making a minor compete in a deadly tournament when said minor DID NOT enter and does not meet the requirements to compete. |

Aww, how sweet. I believe that Nott didn't mean to fire that curse, but still it poses the question- how does he know a curse recently developed by Voldemort? Hmm |

Yay - you included Calla Lillies!
That makes me very, very happy. And I'm enjoying the story immensely so far... I don't know why I didn't start it earlier!

Stupid Nott! I have a feeling he's going to be a problem later on too. No good Slytherin. Anyway, I like how you wrote Harry in this chapter. He seems to have matured so much. I guess defeating an evil wizard will do that to you. Lovely chapter! |

Wow! That was some duel. Of course Ginny has more drive than 10 other people. She is really a force to be reconned with. I am so glad that Harry realizes that he has to let Ginny be herself. She is the whole person he fell in love with and she would grow to resent it if he tried to hold her back. He would be on the losing end in the end if he tried to hold her back. Their lives won't be easy but they will be full. I just hope they both survive to live long lives together. Thanks for writing. This is a great "after Voldemort" story. p |

This is a tremendous chapter -- your characterizations are fantastic.
Plus the atmosphere and the determination and the -- I could go on and on. I am addicted. Hook, line and sinker.
More! More!

Go on... please! It's nice to hear such enthusiasm, especially from a fellow writer whom I respect. All I can say is that there's much more to come. We've only scatched the surface in these first few chapters. The plot thickens as we go, but I like to pace myself and include the lighter moments in there as well, just to break up the story a bit. I'm fond of Jo's humour and try to keep that in my "angsty" stories as much as possible. Thanks for making me smile today. |

Another great two chapters first of the 4th one very well done what particuley with harry opening up that it wasnt ginny that he didnt trust but himself & to have harry admit that just shows how strong ly he fells for ginny.
This chapter was much more a action one & the describtion of thedules wasvery well handeled but my favorite bit was the conversation between the two of them thta what ever they have to do thet will do together very ice.
Now ia just wating for the next bit of agnst to pop up & but a spanner in ther relashion ship unless you drmatically changed your stily for this story again very well done & lookingforward to the next chapter |

Well, I'm trying to keep this one lighter than the others I've done, but that doesn't mean there won't be a lot going on. I'm really fighting the angst because I don't want to do what I've always done... keep them apart. That doesn't mean there won't be bumps in the raod, however. This one is more of an action adventure story. Unfortunately, we have to get through most of this "setting the stage" stuff before we get to the meat of the story. Thanks for the review! |

An excellent chapter! I really liked your description of the duels, particularly the one with Nott. Very gripping stuff. And, of course, nice interactions between and at the end. Aw! How sweet! |

I like the atmosphere of reality you surround your story and characters with. Having Ron and Charlie still be reticent even after Harry has acquiesced, and Hermione as the supporting friend. Luna is always a favorite of mine but you haven't overdone her eccentrcity. The apprehensive Harry during the duel and then the powerful Harry to the rescue after Nott's evil curse .... all were just on the right note for an exciting and suspenseful chapter. |

You did the duelling sequences quite well and it never lagged at all (although from previous experience I know of your skills)!
Something tells me that Nott is not done being trouble!

Argh! What a great chapter. I suppose you need a Slytherin foil for some reason, but I would think that if he threw a curse developed by LV for goodness' sakes at a fellow student, he'd not only be disqualified, but expelled. He shouldn't even know it, much less be able to cast it (I know, I know, there's the whole "he was forced to learn it by his father bs"). Anyway, other than that quibble, I really enjoyed the chapter, including the understanding Harry and Ginny come to at the end. It was quite beautiful.
I'm really enjoying this story, great job! |
Saturday 2nd June 2007 18:25 | Ginny Weasley and the Goblet of Fire (Author Response) |
Well, it's not common knowledge that the curse was developed by Voldemort. McGonagall can't expell him because Class I curses aren't illegal, just unsportsmanlike. Let's just say that the curse is so new it hasn't been made illegal yet, so the only thing he's guilty of is breaking the tournament rules, which disqualifies him. He's the son of a DE and has had a rough time of it. Honestly, there's a bit more to his background that I won't get in to now, but you should watch Nott. I'm not done with him yet. |
lantis222 Wednesday 30th May 2007 10:17 | Ginny Weasley and the Goblet of Fire |
Go Harry, I'm so proud! He's finally doing the right thing for Ginny as well as him. If he tried to hold her back he would be miserable himself because Ginny would not be who she is if he tried. I really liked this chapter for that reason. They are realising that they have to draw upon eachother for their needs. Great job! |
