I love the growth of Neville in this chapter, which is really good to see and could have been easily ignored.

I love delving into the development of an unlikely hero, and this was particularly well done.

It's nice to see this story take us into the aftermath. Neville is a great character, and to see the changes he's gone through, with some foreshadowing to the future, is a nice. Ginny needs an adoptive big brother, since Harry CLEARLY is unsuited for that role.

Ginny needs an adoptive big brother,

I'm sure Ginny would argue that she doesn't need another big brother, but at Hogwarts in DH she needed someone.

Cute chapter! I loved the interaction between Neville and Hannah, and all of Neville's reflections on the past year. Keep the updates coming!

thank you, I was torn about putting Hannah in there as she kind of breaks from my core characters for this, but I think it worked.

I really enjoyed this story -- a series of really beautiful moments from the Harry Potter series. It's always fun to see a different perspective on canon. I particularly liked this last "observation", especially this bit:

Neville looked at the galleon, "Makes you proud to have fought, doesn't it?"

"We never really had a choice," she smiled, "it was what we needed to do."

Neville smiled at her, "Hannah, when all this starts to fade away," he looked at the window, "and the sun rises again, and the mess is cleaned up," He looked back at Hannah, "would you like to meet up some time?"

Just sort of summed up the whole feeling of the series for me... and then moved on to the positive side of the aftermath of the war.

I'm looking forward to more! Thank you so much!

Cheers, I tried to include pov, that I have not worked on before.

Despite what was lost and I'm sure thar the fighters were very aware of that, life did slowly start to move on.

I'm looking forward to more!

There's one chapter left which should be up next weekend.

When he had been asked to lead, to rebel against authority and to stand up for what he believed in, he had not been found wanting.
Neville has never truly been found wanting. He's just, to put in in herbology terms he can relate to, 'a late bloomer'. Nicely done.
Saturday 1st March 2008 13:35Observations (Author Response)

cheers mate, ad I agree I think late bloomer is a very good phrase to use with Neville

What a sweet segment between Neville and Hannah. I got a kick out of

Hannah smiled back at him, and he found himself smiling the way that he had seen Harry do so many times last year. "That sounds good."

Oh Neville, you dashing lad!
