Merlin's left nut? Very nice... (giggle)
The story is moving in a very interesting direction, and I can't wait to find out more, but I still feel like the Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny and even Dumbledore we've seen here are very out-of-character compared to what we're used to.
Having said that, I think that helps the story along. If each individual was speaking and behaving exactly as we remember them from canon, this plotline would seem a little confused. However, this alternative character development seems to quite nicely compliment a story which has itself made some significant diversions from the established universe.
I'm looking forward to the next update...

Dumbledore's mistake is going to be one of the main centres of the story. In his defense, he doesn't have alot else to go on right now, and let me tell you, it's gonna cause some problems.

It's a good set up and should make a good story. An ambiguous Dumbledore is just fine (and has the added advantage that you can let the story unfold a bit before making up your own mind about how you want things work out.) My advice (free, and worth every knut) is to have the courage of your convictions and go for it. Write the story that you want to write and don't worry about pleasing everyone.

Yea!! They're together! The scene where Ginny must have hexed Dean while Harry was crying and then their heads were leaned together on the door.... beautiful. I could just see that moment perfectly.
Hm... so Ginny put a powerful spell on the door and you said she won't have superpowers and Dumbledore is suspicious. I wonder if your goal is to have Dumbledore in a positive or negative light. You probably can't answer that. :-)
I don't know how close to canon the horcrux-thing will be, but if it is, it can't be that bad... it'll be like Harry. She'll feel perhaps more angry at times and such but nothing like taking her over in order to hurt or kill Harry. Right? I need reassurance. :-) |

I just stumbled across this story today and I love it! Thank you so much for coming up with such in interesting idea, and then sharing it. My only complaint so far is that the first couple of chapters felt rushed. I know you had to move things along and that you were concerned about whether people would want to read it, so I'm happy now that you've brought us back to normal speed.
Some people might say that Harry and Ginny's characters were a bit extreme but I can really see them getting so dark and so fiesty. I LOVE what you've done with Ginny providing comfort to Harry because she understands him better than anyone. I love the idea *wink*. If you get bored sometime, take a look at my U.B. story, you might find a few similarities! Perhaps great minds think alike Ron and Hermione are being a bit standoffish, but I'm not too surprised since they seem to have found other things to entertain themselves with
I'm really looking forward to following this story. You've captured my attention and my enjoyment. Keep up the good work! |

Glad Ginny and Harry worked things out so nicely. Dumbledore's got to be wrong about this. I'm hoping Ginny can get some more answers out of him. Not sure why he's keeping Ginny from telling him, when he was going to tell him anyway.

Dumbledore is wrong about somethings, right about others. Which is which is what will make the story interesting.
I think that sometimes Dumbledore likes to keep secrets just for secrets sake.

You know I do think that Ginny owes Dean an apology, however. They grew close last year. Over the summer he sent her a nice letter asking to speak to her on the train. He openly and honestly expressed his feelings and hopes that she returned them. It wasn't his fault that the train lurched and he certainly didn't take advantage of the situation to grope her.
So what did he do that deserved a hexing?

I've been thinking of a reason, and here it goes. We don't know what happened between Ginny and Dean after Harry saw them, remember? Harry turned around a long while and the compartment was sealed with silencing charms.
Since no one knows what happened, I can say that Dean said something inappropriate or refused to take no for answer. Muwhahaha, I'm full of win. |

Oh, wonderful!!! It was worth the build-up and stress to finally see them get together! Thank you, thank you, thank you--that was one of the best "Harry pulling his head out" scenes I've read. I am slightly taken aback by Ginny punching him in the stomach--seems a little OOC for her, but it made me laugh.
So, Dumbledore is trying to control both Ginny and Harry now--that was probably a very bad idea for him to put a charm on Ginny to keep her from disclosing the bond. And it's very interesting that Ginny recognized the flavor of magic around the suppression charm.
And those were some pretty interesting oaths that Harry made about protecting, and trusting Ginny. I'm anticipating the changes in Harry's decisions that they will cause.
And, in case I didn't mention it enough, I LOVE having them together finally. And they're so cute!!!

Thanks for the very nice words! I'm glad you liked the Harry realizes his mistakes scene. That was one of my favorite parts as well.
Dumbledore...is going to be a problem. You hit it on the head when you mentioned the control part. Instead of working with them, he will do what he thinks is best despite them. You're the first person to mention Harry's oaths, I thought that would have caused a bigger stir. They are going to have a big impact later on in the story.

First she leads poor Dean on for an entire year and then when he responds like she planned all along she hexes him! I think Dumbledore is right about her, she has to be dark if that is the way she treats people!
I hope Harry comes to his senses soon before she has him so wrapped around her dark little fingers he will be lost forever!

Thanks! I'm struggling with what to do about Dumbledore. I really don't want to make him a manipulative bad guy but at the same time we all know that he does stuff all the time because he thinks it's for Harry's best interests. Hopefully all you guys can keep me from going over board.

So is this the falling out of the Old Man? If it helps any, he should keep his hairy old noise out of other peoples business. As for Ginny's magic I think that the problem is the same as Harry;s. Ginny got some of Voldie's magic in the chamber and she is now using it. But, will old hairy noise take off the charm that he put on Ginny? Nope I don't think that he will but that might be the storm that is brewing.
