Yeeees Ginny, you have no idea how close he was
What a sad christmas that was. They sound so lonely although there are people around but holidays without the ones you love (or if someone died) are just so horrible.javascript:smiley('');
So Bill made the pic of Ron? small digital camara in 1997. That must have cost a fortune

This is a really sad Christmas. Poor Molly and Arthur and Ginny! I think Fred and George made a magic photo of Ron just so Molly would stop obsessing over him not having anything to eat.

I did look up digital cameras in late 1997 and the cheapest was just under $500.

I guess Bill must have had a very nice Gringotts Bonus.

I think your time line is a tad off just at the end there. If the explosion is what I think it is (Harry, Ron, and Hermione meeting with Mr. Lovegood), then I think its a tad off. I always thought that Ron did not find Harry and Hermione until later in January or even February, which pushes their meeting with Mr. Lovegood off until then. It felt at least to me like Ron was away for more time than you lead it on to be.

Very good anyhow. I have been following your stories since about the end of Ginny's Fifth year and all have been good. I'm giving my warning now though if something odd happens to Ginny I will not be a happy reader .

Thank you for your attention to detail. It is true that JKR does not indicate when Ron leaves Harry and Hermione. Hermione describes his being gone for'weeks and weeks'.

However, we do know that Ron heard Hermione's voice saying his name coming from the Deluminator on Christmas morning. (DH American hardback edition page 383).

Ron left Shell Cottage immediately and the Deluminator lead him to where Harry and Hermione were camping but he could not see them so he hung around for two days, sleeping in his sleeping bag. He pulled the sword of Gryffindor from the lake on the night of December 26 (page 385).

Hermione is still mad but he tells them about the Taboo and Harry says he want to go see Xenophilius Lovegood on the night of the 27 and they go to Ottery St Catchpole. The explosion is triggered by Hermione on December 28 (page 396).

My story agrees with the Christmas week timeline of the HP Lexicon- http://www.hp-lexicon.info/timelines/calendars/calendar_dh.html

I try to follow canon.

Wow, what a great chapter! This was very moving, very personal. You did such a good job showing the various reactions of everyone upon discovering Potter Watch. I really think you did a great job with that part. In fact, the Potter Watches were a sort of grounding for this chapter. It gives us a glimpse into what's happening to the characters we love and miss, plus we get to see the reactions of those in the story that love and miss them. Very good writing.

The meeting of the families after the Hogwarts Express was also well-written. You really captured the panic of Luna's father, and the joy of Molly and Arthur seeing Ginny, as well as the pain of hearing that Luna was taken. It was a great scene. Underscored by the reality that there was almost no one present. The pervading fear is really starting to show up in this story, and I think you write it very well.

Looking forward to the next!

As you well know, Deathly Hallows grows increasingly dark. I am trying to strike a balance between the really painful parts like Luna's capture and the horrors that Neville and Ginny are being subjected to and the occasional relief from tension with Tonk's pregnancy and Charlie's developing relationship with St Margarets' Kathleen Pen.

I have grown fonder of the twins while writing this story. Their relationship with Great Auntie Muriel provides much of the lightness before the Battle of Hogwarts.

This story is finished but I am tweaking the three chapters that cover the first part of May. I actually got most of my idea of September, 1998 on screen today. Ginny's Seventh Year has begun!

Well, I guess I´ll repeat myself a bit here, but poor, poor Ginny! The nightmare she had on her arrival was so realistically depicted! Fabulous job, as usually. And I just loved all the hints we got here, the "distant booming sound" being on the top of the list.

I'm glad that you are picking up on all the allusions to the actual book. Molly and Arthur have only a general idea of what Ginny has been going through. This is not a happy year.

I do not know why, but this chapter made me feel very sad.I think there was a bit more story telling here and a bit less of the diary/factual style of previous chapters. Good stuff!

Thanks for your perceptive comment. Deathly Hallows is a pretty dark book. Molly and Arthur realize the danger that their whole family is in. However, they can't comprehend how dangerous it has been and will be for Ginny. They think that sending her back to Hogwarts is a bad choice but forcing the entire family into hiding may be worse. While Arthur and Bill and the twins are able to keep working they can learn information and resist the new regime.

Trelawney 2213 submitted this chapter this afternoon. How soon it gets posted depends on how busy the administrators are. We lucked out this weekend.

Ginny's Sixth Year is complete so it is just a matter of getting the chapters to my pre beta for comments and then to my beta for a final approval. I'm still futzing with the three chapters about The Battle of Hogwarts but hope to have a chapter ready to post each weekend.

Thank you for reading and reviewing. I want everyone to realize what a fantastic job Bookish 327 and Trelawney 2213 do in commenting on the chapters and correcting my spelling. They take what I write and make it shine.

This is a rather dark year but I hope you keep reading.
