Thanks for the update.
I'm curious what the problem with Harry's chest is.
Good to see him flying again!

I could cream Petunia for teaching Harry to suffer being sick in silence! She did him a gross disservice when she taught him that being sick was such an egregious inconvenience that he learned to keep his symptoms to himself. Self-medication can go only so far and it's clear at the end of the chapter that Harry has been wrong about how sick he really is.

However, I also have another theory about his illness: it's psychosomatic. I say this because his symptoms have been gradually coming on the closer to Umbridge's trial gets. He's also suffered other anxiety-riddled moments prior to the trial like his interview with the goblin at Gringotts during which he seems to be experiencing breathing difficulties. It makes me wonder whether he is so extremely worried that his anxiety is manifesting itself in physical ailments. Even with Umbridge's conviction, I think the reality of the upcoming trials in which he will have to give testimony is weighing heavily on him and even Umbridge being given life in Azkaban isn't much of a relief just now.

Speaking of the trial, you write a very convincing Umbridge. The first time I read through her trial, I had to walk away from the computer for a few minutes because my blood was boiling when she tried to weasel her way out of being held accountable for her actions. I'm so glad she received her just desserts.

Well done, Melinda! Here are for making me walk away from my computer!

Love you, Arnel!!! I'm SO glad you pointed out how its Petunia who has conditioned Harry this way. You know I despise that woman. As for the root cause of his illness, well, I'm keeping my cards close until the next chapter, but there are some answers coming!

The fact you wanted to walk away during Umbridges scene thrills me. I always want to walk away when I read or see her, so it worked! Woot Woot!

Oh, no. You're evil, you know that? In the best way possible, of course. This was a nasty cliffhanger. And why does he have to be so goddamned stubborn and resist going to the mediwitch until the last possible moment? It's quite funny, actually - Harry has an aversion to pulling attention to himself, and I guess this is part of why he hasn't gone to see the mediwitch before. But through trying to avoid attention he's brought himself into a position to get evern more attention. Passing out in the courtroom will give you that. Just let him heal well, please.

I was a bit surprised at Umbridge being allowed to just start asking questions of Harry, without asking for the word or being told she could ask. But this is a wizarding court, so... *g* At least she got her due. I like your twist on the creation of the blood quill, having it be her invention, as all other fanfic I've read has it be an old device. Preferably used to sign contracts. Now it's purely torture.

Excellent story as always!

Do you have any idea how many people have told me I'm evil this week?? I'm going to get a complex! Why doesn't he seek help? I think that's part of his conditioning, so you can blame Petunia! I do.

As for the trial, I tried to model it after the British court system, not the American one, along with some twists to allow for the Wizarding world.

Wow, what a place to end it! Great trial. For a minute, I thought Umbridge might get away with it too, but I knew you'd never do that. loved ron getting his own vault,a nd Harry getting a new broom.

Thanks! I'm SOO glad you thought Umbridge might get off. That's exactly what I'm going for. I was hesitant to do a court scene as I wasn't sure I could get the tension right, so being first review - you relieved me greatly!
