I've just found this and it may not be any good but I enjoyed the first chapter too much not to put it on.

I didn't stop reading until there was no more to read! I love AUs.

Harry Potter and the Power of Time I found this one in one of the time travel communities on FF.net. It actually falls under several genres. It's time travel (not long distance mind you), a trunk story, manipulative Dumbledore (good intentions), and independent Harry. I believe this author borrowed some elements from Taking Control but otherwise it's a good story. I found it harder to read in later chapters as it's getting kind of repetitive. Unfortunately, it's WIP and possibly abandoned. In the profile, he says he WILL FINISH THE STORY, but t hasn't been updated since April of last year.

I freaked out at the end of chapter 26 because he added in a joke of Harry and Neville making out on the platform. Good thing it was a joke eh? It is a HP/GW fic, although the ship isn't a main focus and it really isn't until Christmas hols that that ship even begins to happen.

I like the story a lot, I just think the beginning took a bit too long. I was pissed though, when I got to the end of chapter 29. The story is finally starting to really move along and now I'm out of chapters (with such a cliffy too). I was shocked to learn that there was a 2 year gap between chapter 28 and 29, who knows how long it will take for the next one (it's been over a year).

I think it was rec'd here before, but I've found Meaning of Apathy's Harry Potter and the Cracked Resevoir to be hillarious. It's a slight MD (manipulative Dumbledore) and it reminds me of This Means War! in some ways.

Someone on the Fate's Debt Yahoo Group rec'd this fic and I liked it.

Just an FYI, as far as I know, the author isn't not posting because he's abandoned the story, he hasn't been posting because he's in the Navy and has been out to sea on a sub (this is based on a post from his Yahoo group).

Ya, I learned that by going back and reading the AN. He promised to not have 2 year long gap like the last chapter, but it's getting awfully close. Sucks that he has to be away so much though.

It has really short chapters, but please, ignore that. I think the author simply typed up a chapter in ten minutes or so, one each day and posted it. Also, the power he knows not, is kind of a first that I've seen.

Thats one way to do it, you can also type it manually (which is what I normally do unless I am replying directly, as I normally use the quick-reply) by either
{URL="http://www,webpage,tld"} Link Name {/URL} which would give you something like Phoenix Song The other option is

{URL} http://www,webpage,tld{/URL} which posts the address as the link:
http://www.phoenixsong.net/forum

NOTE: {=[ and }=] commas are dots . and tld is the top level domain (.com, .net, etc)

Yet another way to do it is to simply type the address:

http://phoenixsong.net/forums

The forum software automagically detects the address and converts it into a link. (notice how the examples become links as well)

The http:// part is essential in all cases for compatibility.

Right now I'm reading a fic called Harry Potter and Fate's Second Chance. I haven't gotten far with it yet, but it looks pretty good. Its a "go-back" but instead of going back on his own, Harry is sent back by "Fate" Also, Harry doesn't keep his specific memories (save one, which I won't tell, you'll just have to read it) he's supposed to keep his "experience" and "maturity" but I haven't really seen it yet. Then again, I'm only 3 chapters deep. It is H/G for those of you who refuse anything but

I love Fionnabhair's fics. She's got a wonderful sense of the characters.

I think my favorite of hers is the wonderful exploration of the growth of Ginny and Hermione's friendship through books four through seven, The Best Ship of All. It has a sadly unfinished pre-DH book seven sequel called Left Behind that's still worth reading; it's a view of the aftermath of HBP through Ginny's eyes, with the Trio off doing their Horcrux thing, and Ginny back at Hogwarts with Luna and Neville, struggling to find her own way.

Yes, she's a very good writer. If you've missed it, the second part to the story I recced is The Slimmest, Wildest Chance. It's just as lovely.

I've never seen this rec'd anywhere before, so I thought I'd do it. I love and hate this fic because I just want to strangle H/G sometimes. It's a more mature fic, but it's nothing bad. Life Happens by ColorOfAngels.

Also, check out the trailer made for it 'Life Happens' trailer (a Harry/Ginny Fanfiction). The Trailer is wonderful and it does such an awesome job for the story. I often times will open it up just to watch because it gets me kind of emotional.

Oh, my favorite scene by far had to be Ginny telling off the Dursleys. Reading Duds falling into the water does it for me every time. Whooped like- what whoops? I've dreamed of that scene. The reality- in-writing was so much better)
