I'm Aparna,a brand new member.

I'm relatively new to the world of fanfiction, having discovered it only a few months back.But I'm having a great time now, thanks to all of you wonderful people out there.

Belive me, I LOVE this site! Its beautiful! I've been visiting for a while now. I decided to register after I realised how much I'm missing by not being a member. * HUGS EVERYONE OUT THERE*

I'm a 26-yr old architect from Kerala, India.I've been happily married to a (very handsome ) Cardiologist for the past three and a half years and am a proud mother of a wonderful two year old boy.

So now you all can imagine why it took me so much time to discover this wonderful world of yours.Being a professional while being the wife of a professional and the mother of a very boisterous two-year old (both of whom insist on being hugged and spoiled every single minute) is a very demanding career indeed!

Luckily for me, my son has developed a fascination for my PC and is happy to sit on my lap for hours, looking at the screen enjoying all the images and colours.

Guess what?!

I've become so smitten by the fanfics I've read that I've started writing one!

I might post it one day if I work up the courage.

So long,guys. Its 11 pm here and I've got three important meetings with my clients tomorrow. I love my job but its very demanding. So I consider myself really lucky if I can find the time to check out the updates once in 2 or 3 days.

Besides, my husband is waiting for me!

Actually I'm 75% Malayali as my paternal grandmother is a Bengali.
I've lived my whole life in Kerala except for two years when I left for Delhi to do my M.Arch in SPA ( School of Planning and Architecture).
My dad's family is settled in the US of A.
One of my aunts is a doctor in Kentucky and another aunt is in New York. My gran also lives in Kentucky; Louisville to be exact.
I'm very pleased to meet you. Nothing like a fellow Mallu in a new place. Long Live Mallus!

My heart stopped when you talked about counting the days while waiting for Book 6. For a few painful seconds I thought you meant a date had been set for its release, and I missed it.

Its just that this the first time I'm getting my fair share of waiting for a Potter book.

I started reading the books just after the fifth book came out. All my friends are proffessionals (well, most of them) like me and nobody has time to wait and watch for a book.

A year after my son was born, I was staying at my parents's house ( Sandeep had left for a conference in Geneva for a looooong six weeks )and had all the time in the world to read. (my mamma is a wonder with babies )

So when I saw all the hype in the newspapers with the launch of the fifth book, I decided to see what the big deal was. I borrowed all five books from my bestfriend's cousin and finished them in three days flat!
That too with a year-old baby to look after!

So, I was hooked with no hope of escape.

Needless to say, Sandeep,my husband ,was a very surprised man. There he was, a perfectly happy man with a worshipping wife and a year after the much wanted baby is born, BINGO, she's gone nutters.

He was a pathetic sight indeed, having to drag his wife away from her PC to the bedroom.

Now he's got used to it. But I think he's jealous of my PC. Well, my excuse is as soon as he begins to supply me with Harry's news like my computer does, I'll throw it in the trash. Until then,no go.

OK, I've exagerrated a bit (about my husband's frustration. Nothing in this world can keep me away from him . Sorry guys, not even Harry ).

But basically this is what happened. So now you know why I'm so desperate for the sixth book.

Ok, got to go .

Sandeep is taking me out to lunch at our favourite restaurant.We both have a holiday today,he's not on call and I've finished this weeks work.Our son is at my parents's place today. So we have a day all to ourselves for the first time in THREE MONTHS! I can't spare even a minute more.

So , nothing much is happening here other than the sad fact that my beta had to quit b'coz of her busy schedule and the one I got now doesn't have time to go through my fic in detail.

I realised this as soon as finished reading TMW (what is currently available,that is )for the seventh time (after the 8th chapter came out, I've forgotten how many times I've read each chapter! ) and cursed him for not posting sooner for the I've-forgotten-the-number-th time !

Well, I started reading the Tim- Lorian's Lord and Master thread, but it said to read this thread instaed, so like a good girl, I did. All the way to the bottom, and I now feel very dizzy thanks to all the bouncy, colorful smilies!
Hang on...should have probably started with saying HELLO! I'm Antonia (as the name suggests), and it's nice to meet you. Having read so far in this thread I actually feel as though I have met you. You seem like a really lovely, friendly person. I also now think your little boy sounds utterly adorable, and I want a husband like yours.
I hope you do post here. It's great, and the betas are wonderful. I'm really happy that my scribblings are up here along with so many brilliant authors that I admire. (Eurgh, that did sound rather gushing, didn't it? I can't think of a better way to say it, though.)
I'm very impressed with your reading all five books in three days. Especially with a baby. Did you sleep at all? Oh well, as my tendancy to sit up all night reading suggests (when I found the latest chapter of TMW I think I went to bed at about five am), a good story comes before sleep.

I know that I have a wonderful family and not a day goes by without me thanking the lord God and counting my blessings.

By the way, what about you? Where are you from and how old are you? You'll get a wonderful husband too;its my prediction . Usually all my predictions come true (except the ones I make about myself *sigh* )

And about finishing off the books, can I tell you a secret?. I didn't sleep for two days. Sandeep and my parents still don't know about this. (That's obvious from the fact that I'm still alive).

About me- I'm nineteen and from the westcountry, England. No wonderful husband as yet - he's out there somewhere! Order of the Phoenix came out before my English synoptic A level paper, and of course I had to read it then and there , then stay up revising. Luckily I was okay, and so am reading English Literature at university, and my parents did have to sue J. K. Rowling for making me fail my exams.

hi y'all!
I just stumbled onto this threat in the process of avoiding studying for my Brain Science & Behavior exam in the morning...so I thought I'd introduce myself and say hi and stuff!

I'm Kate...I'm a junior/senior (4th year...not enough hours to technically be a senior though) at the University of Mississippi...I'm one of the newest batch of Betas here, though I haven't been assigned an author yet... ...um...hmm...I'm never very good at these introduction type things...

I got sucked into the HP world the summer after my senior year in high school after a year of my best friend harassing me to read them...I didn't read them quite as quickly as Appu, but I think I finished 1-4 in two weeks...it probably would've been a lot faster except I had to work...and quite frankly, teaching nursery school and having to keep an eye on about 50 2 to 5 year olds doesn't exactly lend itself to reading! But anyway...I've actually read them all 3 or 4 times...and listened to the audiobooks more times than I can count...I'm listening to OotP as I type...

OK well I probably ought to go study (yeah right...more like go dry my hair so it'll look cute for class in the morning when I should get to see the current object of my affection )

Hey guys what do you think of my results?

Yours are great! I think I will take another quiz when I am feeling well to see how I rate then. cough, cough, hack, sniffle

Yeah, a butterbeer would be nice! But I don't work at the nursery school anymore...my mom's the director and I had it as a summer job between high school and college...I would've gone back because it was fun...but the board decided they didn't want to allow nepitism anymore lol oh well. This past summer and for the past 3 school years (and still) I've been working in a pharmacology lab taking care of the fish that they use for research, and doing a little real science here and there...I'm actually at work right now, in the middle of a 30 minute waiting settling period in my experiment...its great! They pay me to play on the computer!

As for the object of my affection...he was in class today, but we had a guest presenter who led us in some meditation for the whole period, so there wasn't exactly any opportunity for flirting lol! Oh well! There's always Thursday!

And that test I was avoiding studying for went surprisingly well! I have a C without whatever curve there will be (assuming no one gets 100%) *dances* I was totally expecting to fail! (Apparently I guessed really well )
