Since 2003 PhoenixSong.net has been a haven for lovers of quality Harry Potter fanfiction (specifically Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione fanfiction), and we have found that our little corner of the net has become "home" for us as well as our friends.  The site was born out of friendships built on upon a foundation of a mutual love of reading, writing fanfiction, and Harry Potter (not necessarily in that order!), and we continue to focus on the relationships that developed because of our interactions within J.K. Rowling's world. Now that the series has come to a close with the publication of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, many of our pairings are officially confirmed:  Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione and Remus/Tonks.  However, despite the losses in Deathly Hallows, we have been gifted with even more of this magical world in which to play.  New generations and situations have been revealed, giving even more fuel to light the imaginations of our gifted writers and artists! Over the next few weeks we'll re-tool our shipping requirements for new submissions and more clearly define the types of stories we'll host (you can expect to see a "Missing Moments" category pop up VERY soon). As PhoenixSong continues to grow and develop, we look forward to bringing you new stories, poetry and artwork.  We welcome here all who value and love the incomparable works of J.K. Rowling.  We hope each of you will be as blessed by the friendships found here as we have been ourselves and invite all of you to share in the creative spirit she has inspired in so many of us through her Harry Potter series.  We're glad you're here! Open Submissions: Submissions Are Now Open!

Submissions are now open!!  They will be open from 12:01 AM on Wednesday, May 14, until 11:59 PM on Saturday, May 17, Pacific Time.  (For time-zone assistance, please see a time-zone converter such as this one.) Please note the following: **Our submissions requirements may be found on the NEST page. **Stories of more than 10 chapters will be accepted on a case-by-case basis, dependent upon staff availability. **It will likely take our admin staff a week to 10 days to get through all the stories/files that are submitted.  Please be as patient as possible (we know it's difficult to await the fate of your stories, and we will be responding as soon as we can!). Please also watch your email box and especially your spam folder (some mail programs, especially Yahoo and hotmail, like to send PhoenixSong mail to their spam folders! ) in case we have any questions about your files or stories. **Please submit no more than TWO stories during this submissions time.  If your stories are accepted, you and your beta will be able to work out future story postings, regardless of submission dates. We will be having submissions beginning this Wednesday, May 14th, through Saturday, May 17th (submissions will begin and end around midnight, PST; please see the time-zone converter such as is listed on our Fly-Away page as a reference).  Please see the NEST page for all submissions requirements.  We will be accepting longer stories (more than 10 chapters) on a case-by-case basis, depending upon staff availability. Also, please note that it will likely take our staff several days to get through the stories that are submitted, but we hope to notify everyone of our decisions by the following weekend (around May 25th or so).

Current News: No anonymous reviews allowed

Hello all... Due to a recent increase in the frequency of spam "reviews" on-site (and the increasing incidence of adult-only content *in* the reviews!! ), we've made the decision to not allow anonymous (not-logged-in) reviews on a site-wide basis.  This unfortunately means that there is no longer an option for our authors to allow anonymous reviews. We will continue to monitor the situation, and if things change, we'll gladly go back to allowing our members to choose that option for themselves at some point in the future. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but we felt it was in the best interest of the site as a whole, especially given the content of some of our most recent spam "reviews", that are visible to any and all visitors. While we certainly don't wish to "pressure" anyone in any way, we do hope that you will take this opportunity to sign up for membership with PhoenixSong so that you can continue to review for all our authors.  Membership is free, of course, and it grants you the ability to sign up for author alert emails (to notify you when your favorite authors update a story or add a new one), allows you to control aspects of how the site appears to you (choose your banner and font preferences, for instance), etc.  The only information we require is your email address and your age -- and NONE of your information will ever be shared in any manner, nor will you be contacted for any sort of advertisements or whatever.  Membership to Perch (our member forums) requires a separate registration and log-in, because it runs on a separate software system, but you're welcome to use the same information for both locations.  Any questions -- feel free to contact an admin or staff member!

Current News: Update on our Flyaway Page

Our Flyaway page has been edited to remove the link to the Harry Potter Lexicon.  Because of the on-going litigation between JKR and the Lexicon's primary owner, we did not want to seem to be "endorsing" the Lexicon in any way under the current circumstances.  Our allegiance, as always, is to J.K. Rowling and the world she created, and we felt that this was one way in which we could show a bit of support for her in this matter. For further information, please consult The Leaky Cauldron for continued updates on the court proceedings.
