You really deal with the big issues dont you and keep a realistic twist to them. This is a very emotional piece that brought tears to my eyes. You have talent. |

Very well done. What a lot of insight is contained in this short paragraph-
"Silence filled the room for a couple of minutes, as they both appeared to be mulling over the discussion. She felt relieved at having had the opportunity to finally speak about her fears. Her worries had started to ease a little, instead of bouncing around her mind, increasing her fears and adding to her insecurities." Talking with your best friend helps. |

'all hers had escaped uninjured' -- what do you mean by unijured? What about Nagnini's biting her dad and Bill's mauling at the hands of Fenrir?
This is very well-written. You move nicely between the present and the flashbacks, very smoothly.
You make me feel very sorry for Ginny (perhaps a bit too sorry) and very angry at Warnock. I feel a bit like Ginny must fear for her daughter. I don't like that one of my character's has found out that life isn't always fair. She fears Alex will learn a lesson similar to hers. You must be a parent .

This is 27 years later and Ginny's pov. Her thoughts would be of a huge healthy family that gets together at The Burrow each week.
You must be a parent
No just a daughter and a sister. |

A wonderful piece with such vivid characters. I would love to see a sequal, because it would be a shame for them to go to waste. |

sequal?
Not sure but these characters might come out in another one shot. |

Oh, you have really interesting problem here. I wasn't sure what to think at first, but now, I like the way Ginny finally accepts Alex's choice of career. It's not easy to come over jealousy and concern about your loved ones.
How do you do it, that you describe Ginny's emotions and inner turmoils so well? I've just read some of the rest of your stories, and the onlly thing that comes to my mind is that I'm impressed. Truly, from the bottom of my heart. |

The most important thing to come out of this fic, is that shattered dreams, bitterness and grudges, buried deep inside and never faced, eat away at ones soul , much like a small bad spot at the core of an apple does. In time the whole apple is spoiled, and so a person can be a shell of who they could have been. In my 74 years of life, I,ve seen it happen to many acquaintances, and it is sad to see it. Ginny also has what many don,t have, a partner who loves her as she is, and never gave up on her, although I bet he knew what she was feeling all along, if they were soulmates. Great one shot. |

What a thought-provoking review. And I agree with every word you have said.
Great one shot.

Glad to see this posted here. Although it is predominately a story about Ginny's reaction to her injury etc in Quidditch the bit I enjoyed most was seeing how knowledgeable and comfortable Harry was in his parenting role. |
