Great characterization of Harry and Ginny. You captured both of them so well! |

OMG love it!!!! They are so freaking cute That was such an adorable story - you should totally do a companion piece where Ron and Hermione find out!
Great job! |

Nice! I think you've captured the essence of these two, here. Thanks! |

Very well done! Why can't people see the forest? I guess all those trees are in the way! Same thing with friends that want to be more than friends but don't want to ruin the friendship by making declarations! People are so stupid sometimes! Thanks for writing. p |

This was such wonderful, fun fluff! I love the way you write, it keeps me interested. Harry and Ginny are meant to be together and this is a perfectly classic look at their friendship turning into something more. My favorite part was Ginny's reaction to Harry's admission. I'm glad you stayed away from the typical "I knew it" reaction and let Ginny be genuinely surprised. What fun that was to read! Their shared joy in flying is a perfect time to have them grow closer together and you used that very gracefully. Very good work. |

I could feel that tension you mentioned. Sometimes writing a character isn't easy - you want the story to go one way, the characters drag it off another way.
Sometimes let it flow. You'll never know where it leads you.
Plus, there's always the delete key.
Good story. I like the 'flying in the morning' thing. If I had a broom, I'd probably do the same.
Good work. |

I think this one surpasses all the others. What a wonderful, fluffy little story. You have a rare talent. Many can write fanfics, but few of us can write convincing fluff. I bow to the talent you have shown. Keep on writing, I'll keep on reading all of it. |

I loved this story! Especially the part where he has to "make up" all those kisses! So cute and fluffy! Awww! Good work! ~HisGirl |

You know, I have read this story about a dozen times and it still warms my heart. It may be fluff but is really sums up our Harry and Ginny. Bravo, on a very nice little short. |

This was adorable. I really enjoyed your style here.
Harry's internal monologue felt natural, and I could picture his
feelings changing from friendship to more for Ginny. Interesting
that you had Ginny just being with him on his rides at first, knowing
when and when not to push-seems her patience was rewarded. *grin*
Loved how Harry tells Ginny she's the one. I could picture her, a
little confused, hopeful, and Harry nervous. Such a sweet
kiss! And lucky Ginny to get to collect so many more.
My favorite line? "It didn't matter; if Harry was anywhere in the
vicinity of Ginny Weasley, he more often than not found his eyes drawn
to her." For some reason, I love the idea of Harry watching her,
and Ginny never realizing...
A wonderful, sweet cotton candy story. I loved it. Thank you for sharing.

I'm grinning from ear to ear having just finished reading this terrific story...twice! Happy Harry...Happy Ginny...what more could a reader want? Happy them! I'm glad Harry finally came to his senses and told Ginny how he felt; their conversation is priceless and started that grin of mine.
By the way, where did the title come from? |
Wednesday 14th July 2004 01:48 | Flying Free (Author Response) |
Thanks again, Arnel!
You know, I've been thinking about this since you first asked me, and I still have no idea where the title came from. It just popped into my head and demanded that I use it. I don't know if maybe your story came to mind? I haven't heard the song you based your fic on, so I know it wasn't there. Anyway, I had no idea I was stealing (borrowing?) it from you, really. Thanks for being such a good sport about it!

Excellent. Yeah, Harry and Ginny can be darn stubbern at times can't they? Blasted kids don't know what's good for them... |

. Thanks, SH! And you should know about those two being stubborn. Of course, maybe if you quit torturing them, they might be nicer to you...

I love this little story...favorite part:
I've wanted to do that for ages," he said, smiling at her dazed look.
"I.... You have?" she asked, blinking slowly.
"Uh-huh."
"For ages?"
"Ages," he affirmed, then jumped back when she slapped his arm.
"You prat!"
"Ow! What did you do that for?" he asked as he rubbed his arm.
Makes me laugh every time I read it. This is such a wonderful little piece of fluff and you did a great job gettin Harry and Ginny up in the air and talking!
