Good chapter, although I'm not sure why I needed to avoid eating or drinking while reading it!

I've been told that a number of readers sprayed their monitors and keyboards while reading this chapter - especially the bit between Tonks and Molly at the end of the chapter.

OOH!  Is Ginny gonna kill Harry or what?!  Idiot boy.  Unless Molly and Ron and Arthur don't tell her?

Harry, Harry, Harry.  Talk to the girl first, or she'll be really ++blocked++ed off!

Heh heh.

I am so sorry that your family is having problems.  I hope that they all work out.

I do want to tell you how much I have so far enjoyed your story.  You have really made the characters come alive and breathe.  I love your OC characters as they have really become whole in their own right.  Your attention to detail along with your imagination is really engaging.  Please keep up with your story as it is too good to not finish.  Cheers.  Angie

Thank you for your kind words.  The problem child is doing much better now, thanks for your concern.  It was turbulence in the family that started me writing again.  Chapter 19 is sitting in my Beta's in basket, and Chapter 20 is sitting on my data key.

The Letters of Summer

Hi there, I was just browsing the reviews, (once in a blue moon I do it) and John, just remember, we're all allowed some mistakes; even JK has done a few. I spotted one last night while listening to Phoenix and doing homework.  It has to do with Sirius, Snape on the day Harry is told about the Occlumency lessons. So, as we say, do what you know to do best, Keep Writing!!!!

"actually Baen (www.baen.com) have just reissued the Wizard of Karres, at least electronically"

Ooops that should read "Witches of Karres"..they have also published a 'fanfic?' sequel called the Wizard of Karres that takes the story on....

and why can't I  edit my reviews?

Yes...I thought a saw a certain 'teacher' pattern emerging....

actually Baen (www.baen.com) have just reissued the Wizard of Karres, at least electronically...

which is how I recently re-read it, since I haven't seen a 'print' version for a while....

I have the electronic version, but I'm not sure if I am allowed to 'pass it on' like I might with an old copy of a book.

You're the lawyer...what do copyright laws say regarding electronic books

This story is like a creme brulé (I don't know if that's the way it's spelled) I love eating it, and hate when it's finished.

Same goes for the story. Love reading it, but hate when it's over.

Just Keep it up!!

Hey KoKoPeLLi fans out thers. Cast your vote! I did LOOOONG time ago. Wish I could vote ago!

I registered on this site solely to review this fic. Of all the Harry Potter WIPs I am reading right now, this is my favorite, so I hope you will be updating soon. I'm afraid I am with TLOSGinny on the Jasmine thing. I guess I'm just not familiar enough with her culture, but I don't see how a grown woman can behave that way with a teenage boy. It was especially inexcusable of her to flirt with him shamelessly and then later the same day grill him about his hot guardian's availability. Then again, I am a grown woman (happily married mother too)obsessing with the love life of a fictional teen, so I have my own problems. Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading more.

Brilliant work. I just stumbled across this story today. I had to force (okay who am I kidding-I couldn't stop reading) my way through the entire story in one day. Great story-line and I respect the detail you have brought into the story. Please keep up the fine work.

Great Story. This is the second time I've read this story and its just as good as before. So far all the comments I see have told you how much everyone enjoys your story but I have noticed anyone mention some errors in your story. These points are all minor and don't take away from the story but here goes.

1. In The Big One.
28. You didn't write my singing Valentine, Fred and George are to blame for that.
Harry said he knows that Ginny didn't send the valentine but in Chapter 14 when he is trying to calm Ginny down he teases her about the card and is surprised when she says she didn't send it and it was the twins. If you change number 28 problem solved.

2. In chapter 3, Letters and Liberty, Petunia tells Harry
I met him at your Mum's wedding. He was the best man, I was the maid of honor.
Then again in in Chapter 14 Remus says he escorted Petunia down the aisle so she had to be a bridesmaid. Remus also says that the woman Siruis was paired with died a month later. If you change Petunia from saying she was the maid of honor to a bridemaid then there is no conflict.

3. In Chapter 16, Ginny signs her diary with the initials VMW but since her name is Ginerva Molly Weasley it should be GMW.

4. In Chapter 17, Ginny ask is Harry if he is going to be in trouble for use of underage magic when he does the reparo charm but she had just used her wand to do the spiltting charm on target one.

I hope you don't take this as me just trying to critize just for the sake of critizing but I just wanted to point out these errors. Anyways can't wait until the next chapter.

1) read these two sections together very carefully - there is no conflict.

2) You are interpreting your own Muggle customs into Harry and Lily's wedding. Sirius had a date at that wedding, she was dead within a month.

3) This chapter was written before JKR released that factoid - not the first time she's done that to me, I might add.

4) I'll give you this one.

Now, for the real challenge - can you find the chronology error in the first seven chapters in which I have one week with eight days in it?

I just finished reading some other fan reviews and Ninde mentions you will not be up-dating until SEPTEMBER??????? Ido, and really do understand about having a real life, but I mean SEPTEMBER What are suppose to do until then? I have been checking everyday with hopes of an up-date, but SEPTEMBER???? Pls do not misunderstand me; I know how difficult it is to balance all the roles an adult must perform. I also have a job, school, kids and grandkids, but September?? I just hope you'll have a change of heart, if not I will good and wait patiently, But, SEPTEMBER????

"He's fine. He's in bed with Ginny right now,"

Well, Harry certainly isn't wasting any time. :-)

For some reason, I will forever wonder now whether I'd still use my turn signals if I were driving an invisible car.

When I initially read the chapter I wasn't fond of the prophesy speech but am coming around. It certainly is unique in post-OOTP fanfiction, and that might very well have influenced my initial reaction. But following his training and increased confidence it makes sense that he would open up more both with his closest friends/family as well as people he at least somewhat trusts. Tonks tweaking Molly at the end remains funny as all hell even the third time round.

I wrote large chunks of that chapter just to work in that joke at the end.

Relax, Seamus.

Jasmine has been sent to her room for a time out as she was threatening to take over the story line. We WILL see her again in the next three chapters. Probably not in leather, though, and definately NOT on the Honda.

I can think of several things that the twins or Ginny could do with the extendable ears or the walkie talkie patch in Harry's room. I also can't wait to see what shade of red Ginny turns when she finds out Harry slept with her. If it is still looking like late September for the next chapter that would be welcome birthday present for me.

Mega long chapter here! Hooray that poor Harry is finally at the Burrow! You really don't like the angsty stuff, though, do you? You had loads of potential for it here!

Hated having Cho there! Very like Harry to forgive Marietta. I want to know what Jasmine talked to DD about? I'm guessing she was the one who slapped him?

Wow over Harry sharing the Prophecy with everyone! Didn't see that coming! Good stuff.

Another outstanding bit of writing, Mr. Kokopelli! It's always great to see one of your chapters up and live on the site, and this is definitely a meaty one at that! Can't wait to see what happens next!

Great chapter. Tke your time if the chapters are as long and good as this

Looking forward to further lessons in the summer ... hopefully including more Ginny.

There's more lessons and more letters, but we are near the end. There are three more chapters in my outline (all unwritten, alas) which cover the entire month of August. Needless to say, they will be long, and we will pick up speed in the narration.

The Letters of Summer
Just a few observations about this chapter of this high quality story.

- thanks for reminding me how to "peel" a mango. I checked it out, and it works like a charm. It's actually quite easy. The skin is so tough, that scoring it, in the manner described, is easy. Eat it plain, or toss in a blender with some banana, yogurt, and whatever else comes to mind (bit of ginger ale and canned pineapple) and you've got a yummy smoothie.

- The roast beef sandwich reference took me a LONG time to figure out. Well done.

- The "eyes only ink" is a very clever little bit of creativity. Little details like this are what take a good story and turn it into a well-fleshed out "world"

- Kudos on coming up with the most original method yet for having Harry tell people about the prophecy.

- Finally, I was just suddenly struck by Molly's use of the passbox at the very end of the story. First, it seems an odd way to pass a letter to someone who is staying in your house, though I admit it does ensure privacy. Second, there is the potential for some anguish on Harry's part, if he neglects to fully unpack his stuff right away, as he won't get th letter right away. But I doubt you'll do so.

thanks again, keep it up!

Well, if you liked the mango tip, you'll love "Cooking with Harry" which sounds like a lovely name for a cable tv show, but instead is the title of the next chapter.

Everything ties back to the Prologue - Delylah was griping that Jasmine is flirting her little War Witch heart out and all Ginny is doing is giving Harry a sandwich - it's been that way from the beginning of this story. HAH!

Harry will find the note in the Passbox, but first he'll be rudely disturbed by Ron, who runs into several gossamer wards in their shared bedroom. How do you think Ron will respond to that, first thing in the morning?

Thanks for your kind words,

JEC
