So totally not fair, Michael! Here I was, thinking everything was okay, and you pull that trick on us!
I enjoyed the fluff (well, the almost-fluff ) of this chapter. I especially liked the scene with Cho, and the fact that Harry was smart enough to know what Ginny was thinking--and that he was able to head her off with that little comment about not liking Cho anymore. I also liked the fact that even after a battle, Harry was still noticing things about Ginny. I'm enjoying the slow build-up of the Harry/Ginny relationship instead of having it just be *pow* they like each other. Much more realistic this way, I think.
Another thing I think I really like about this is that you had both Harry and Ginny be portkeyed away to who knows where. I've read a lot of fics where one (usually Ginny) gets taken captive and the other has to lead a rescue operation; in this case, they're hoepfully going to be able to work together to save themselves (or if they can't quite save themselves, then at least give the Death Eaters cause to wish that they never took Harry and Ginny captive!)
Great job, and I look forward to reading more!

Harry's clueless about girls, but he's not a complete idiot. He'll eventually have things figured out, but you'll just have to wait to see if it happens in *this* story. Muahahaha!
I really struggled with having them both be taken, but as you'll see in chapter seven, it worked out nicely. |
