wow, really powerful ... the writing and the emotions. I love your imagery. Especially the line where his wedding band is lit up by a flash of lightning - so well written, when it could have been just cheesy. I'm glad I found your stories. |

Wonderful story. You've done an excellent job describing the feeling of sacrifice and loneliness in a wartime setting. This was well written, and left me with a sense of hope. |

One of the greatest stories I've read. |

Awesome scene. Speaking from a Vet's experiences from deployments, you captured the lonliness and frustration well; especially the mistakely hearing something that isn't there. The description of the thoughts and emotions give this fic soul and you ended it with passion and determination.
~ Brilliant! Thank you, for sharing this. |

Congrats on being story of the week! I was about to read this anyway...Very good. Just the correct balance of angst and romance, and exceedingly realistic.
Go you! |

"If he weren't here, if he wasn't doing this, they might have a present, but without a doubt, there'd be no future" ummmm thats the best line EVER! I heart your writing, and this story is absolutely amazing!! |

Aw...I don't know how it happened that I just now read this story. It was very well done, as always. I hope all is well. Have you seen Pride and Prejudice yet?! |

Sweet, but a little odd towards the middle. Very good, a little to serious for my tastes at the moment, but it was absolutely fabulous and actually made you think while reading it and after you finish it. Deifinitely not your ordinary fic (in a good way)! |

Wow. I really liked this. I turly cant put it into words. Great job! |

Aaaaaahhhhh that was abso-bloody-lutely wonderful! I felt like crying. It was so well done. They are so precious together, I love them and can't wait for them to get back together (because they will!). This fic flowed wonderfully, was the perfect length, and just - very well put-together. The characters were very in-character and this could definitely have fit after HBP. Excellent job.

This is a "one shot" that cries out for an ending. We don,t want to use our imaginations. We want to see it written out like only you can do it. Please??? |

I'm just going around and paying my respects to the wonderful writers here. I loved this story! I really did because you showed that with love, anything is possible. No matter what. ~HisGirl |

Absoulutely amazing. The picture I had in my head as I read was a mixture of images from the American Civil War and what it must have been like for the soldiers before those battles. My heart went out to Harry in his loneliness and the certainty that the next day's battle could very well be his last. I was, therefore, quite heartened when Ginny showed up. Their conversation was beautiful and showed just how much the two love each other. This was wonderfully written and a story I'll definitely come back to. |

Awesome! Oh how I wish I could find the words to write an Harry-Ginny ficlet as strong as yours!! It almost makes me jealous... Just joking!! But I know that it probably wasn't something that came together automatically. It must have taken some revision, and that notion keeps me revising my own piddly attempts at H/G ficlets. Maybe someday I'll have a fic that I feel is strong enough to post. Anyway, continue with the strong writing. I look forward to reading Heal the Pain now! |

Oh, oh, that last bit made me catch my breath. Just la ovely, wonderful story. The imagery was beautiful. I especially liked this line:
She was like sunlight pouring over his soul, illuminating the dark places and warding off the chill
So gorgeous; I've always liked the association between Ginny and the sun. It seems so fitting. You've made me all misty eyed.
Great job!

Sniff. Nice work, Aibhinn. Harry and Ginny deserve a life of their own -- Harry hasn't even had the chance to live yet. Sigh. Very touching. |
EvieMarie Tuesday 19th October 2004 18:59 | Endless Sacrifice |
I'm seriously beginning to think they should start making movies of
fanfictions. :) I love the imagery in this story- you can see what's
happening very clearly and the dialogue is fantastic; it really lets
the reader hear the voices of
the characters, and leaves the readers wanting more. Although, the
ending of this is great - showing that Harry needs someone like Ginny
to have faith in him, so he can have faith in himself. I really like
that idea. Anyway, brilliant job and keep it up! :)

Wonderful little fic :) think I reveiewed this when you posted it to your LJ, but it's worth another anyway!
You've captured the emotions of the "last night" extremly well, very angsty, very moving.

Magnificent! A ficlet with everything! I always enjoy your work for the realism and your ability to get into people's heads.
Since you have a Gaelic name... 's math sin! |

Since you have a Gaelic name... 's math sin! Ok, gotta ask... would you translate that for me? ;) I love Gaelic; I've just never had the time or chance to actually *learn* it. (Though, yes, I *do* know what Aibhinn means--I used to do medieval living history.) :):) |

Good job, I like angst with a happy ending. You do well with that formula, keep it up!

Jaquelyne Monday 18th October 2004 20:32 | Endless Sacrifice |
This was beautiful. The angst of Harry's loneliness was palatable and his need for his love was heartbreaking. Two people risking their life and love so that it could be finished.
I love that Ginny made sure she was there for the final night before the battle. Harry needed a physical reminder of what he was really fighting for.
Well done!!!
