Im still laughing. There were a few parts that I found could have been better and I would have loved to hear more about Harry's trip in Diagon Alley but you probably have reason so Im not questioning it. I thought Ron was slightly out of character, then back into character and then out again... I think that could have been handled a bit better but it went with the story so can't complain too much. Great chapter... must read next chapter now!!!

Mr. Intel: Nothing like compressing a year's worth of engagement, with all the little discoveries, good and bad, thrown into the mix.  *Sigh*  But will our favorite couple be able to handle it?

RSP: We know they are both stubborn, brave, committed, and *in love*, but it will undoubtedly be stormy. I never have a doubt with my ship, I just go on faith- besides the torture is so fun! So have at them and make *us* squirm, I love all your stories and I bet this will be a great one as well. Best of luck with all, all your fans are looking forward to more.  By the way- I love your use of Arthur and Molly- I figured she would explode- and well Tonks... a simple phrase that acted like a bomb- hope to see more of Lupin as well ...maybe a little Lupin/Tonks hmmm.

Right up front, I have to say that I love your Molly. The first scene with Ginny shows her mothering side wonderfully. And the fact that she's got her head screwed on the right way round. Age has nothing to do with making difficult decisions." Very true!

I enjoyed seeing a new side to Ron. Maybe a certain bookworm is starting to have an effect on his attitude?  It was certainly different to have Harry follow his lead for once. Remus in the Gringotts carts... I feel for the man. The very idea and I turn green. And Harry's little speech! *sigh* I would have expected no less of him!

The discussion around the table was very civilised (I expected more fireworks!) and watching Bill in action was a revelation. Very well thought out indeed. I find that sort of stuff difficult to get to grips with and imagine/describe effectively and so that intrigued me.

Besides, we shouldn't let what anyone else thinks get between us. We've got to handle this on our own.  And I have to single out this line. It looks as though Harry has some some serious thinking, if this hint of emotional maturity is anything to go by. How can Ginny resist?

Tuesday 7th December 2004 09:34The Bargain (Author Response)
Ah, yes.  Ron and Hermione have their own little drama brewing in the background.  Too bad I'm so excited to write the H/G drama that I don't have the time to write it as well!

The fireworks come later.  Bill especially.

The spell thing with Bill was an amalgum of ideas between myself and my two pre-betas.  It's tonnes better with their input, let me tell you.

Harry's a thinker.  He's going to be doing a lot more thinking as time goes by, that's for sure!  Ginny, too.

I'm writing as fast as I can!  Chapter four is halfway there.  Harry and Ginny just have to fall in love, right?  Right?

Yup- your twisted. This was a great chapter, the storyline is so fresh and full of possibilities- just thinking of the thousands of little tortures relationships generate- then to go through them in twelve days- good thing they feel the way they do. Best luck on the next chapter

Oh, Yeah! Another excellent addition to your wonderful story! Thanks so much....Harry was perfect and who could say no to a guy like that. I loved that he told Tonks not to say it like that because he had turned down girls he didn't like if that was all he was after.

Love Harry Potter...i do i do!

He's a good boy, isn't he?  But not perfect, as Ginny is bound to discover.

Ah, this was a nice one.  The bit near the start where Harry does a bit of introspection and visualises a future with Ginny just did it for me, and set the tone of the chapter, which just kept building up the same way.  Very nice, and a complete change-about - for me - from the first chapter, where you had me thinking the story was going to be more a comedy than anything else.

Now you've got me hoping that Hermione *doesn't* find a solution ... wonder how you're going to have this story end up?  Thanks for the story thus far.
Tuesday 7th December 2004 08:56The Bargain (Author Response)
Yes, I find myself rooting for a blissful marriage between Harry and Ginny, now.  Hermione *does* find some things.  You'll get that in the next chapter, but if she did find an out that was attractive, what would be the whole point to my story?

Tell you what, you produce a chapter for each day of the courtship, I'll produce a verse to match for the song.

Sunday 5th December 2004 21:38The Bargain (Author Response)
Well, I can't make too many promises, because chapter four starts on August 1st still!  There may be some multi-day chapters and some multi-chapter days.  Still, I can guarantee one song-worthy event in each chapter.  How's that?

Really enjoying the story and looking forward to future installments.  Hopefully Dumbledore has something in mind for the newlyweds at Hogwarts or does he expect them to return to their separate dormitories.  I have a feeling that once Harry & Ginny get a taste of each other that it will be difficult for them to be apart.  Keep up the good work.

Sunday 5th December 2004 21:37The Bargain (Author Response)
Part of chapter four will deal with 'arrangments' and how they will address all sorts of logistical issues.  Not only will it be difficult, it will be wrong.  Ginny, for one, will not like the idea of being away from her soon-to-be husband.

As always, you have done a great job!  I love the idea of the parchment for transferring money.  I can't wait to see this speeded up courtship.  It's going to be such fun!  Keep up the great work!

I enjoy writing it at least as much as you do reading it.  So there's joy to be had in the whole process.  Thanks for the nice review!

Great - another marvellous piece of fiction..  Wonderful to see Harry's determination, and his vision of Ginny with a baby on her lap - a baby with unruly black hair.  Of course, who can resist a message from his soul like that?  Not Harry.  Love Ron's determination in getting Harry on track and making this work, and his confession that actually, he wants Harry and Ginny to be an item.

The wizarding equvalent to a credit card was a nice touch.  Makes room for some rather impressive shopping for the fabulously rich young Mr. Potter and his soon-to-be-wife.  Oooohhh, I am so looking forward to the rest of this.  Nice advent treat.

Grrreat job.  Double posting of chapters is definitely a great thing.  You're spoiling us now :)

Are we gonna have a days count down?  Perhaps as an a/n to know how many days to go? Just a thought ...

Looking forward to the next chapter.
Sunday 5th December 2004 21:29The Bargain (Author Response)
Yep.  I'm going to have to, just to keep track of things myself!  As it stands, there's ten days left until Ginny's birthday.  Chapter four opens on the same day as chapter three ended - August 1st, 1997.

Maybe Harry should give Ginny a ride like this:  as part of his courtship! At least the two of them sort of like each other, so can we expect some  soon???
Sunday 5th December 2004 21:27The Bargain (Author Response)
I've got all the 'dates' planned out, including some other activities that they'll be taking part in.  H/G loving will be all througout this story, but I can't tell you for sure when the big moment will happen.  Love is a fickle friend, even among friends.

More good work as always.  I really liked the way Harry reacted to the less tactfull suggestions from his companions; as well as Ron's advise. Don't worry about rushing the next bit. Quality will always outshine quantity.

looking forward to day two.
Sunday 5th December 2004 21:24The Bargain (Author Response)
As am I!  Though chapter four is still in day two, as it stands.  I think I'll have a little day meter in the A/N for each chapter, just so it's clear how much time has passed and how much is left to go.

"Harry and Ginny, sittin' in a tree"    Love it, love  it, love it!   Can't wait to see what you have planned.  If you(or Hermione) find some way to break this contract I will personaly Hex You!  This is going to set speed records for courtship, right?   Can't wait for more so get back to work!
Sunday 5th December 2004 21:22The Bargain (Author Response)
The contract is water-tight.  I made no misrepresentations there, I assure you.  Chapter four is in progress and the rest of the story is shaping up nicely.

I think this was an excellent balance between the character's need for making decisions very quickly and their need to do what is right.  A wonderful chapter.  I especiallyl enjoyed the scene with Ginny and Molly, and the final scene between Ginny and Harry was very sweet.  Well done!
Sunday 5th December 2004 09:26The Bargain (Author Response)
Balance is a theme I try to infuse into all my stories, as it's one of the most important lessons of life.  Extremes have their uses, but in the life of a hero, or heroine, balance is the difference between happiness and misery.

Another great entertaining chapter, loved the interaction between Harry and Ron, it's always nice to see Ron not only accepting some H/G but enjoying teasing Harry about it.

The "swing" scene was great, and was the perfect way to "mend" the friendship.
Sunday 5th December 2004 09:24The Bargain (Author Response)
Some think Ron is OOC, but I'm glad for you thinking he's right.  As to the swing scene, thank John for making it what it is.  It was quite 'tangled' before, you see.

Oh, hurrah!  Harry's going about it in the right way.  (Not that he didn't have help...)

The swing scene was lovely, and I'm glad that Ginny decided not to make the first move.  And that Harry took the initiative!

sweet.  This is developing nicely.  Now you've got me hooked on two of your fics at once,  and breathlessly waiting on updates of each.  Don't you love the sense of power this gives you?
Sunday 5th December 2004 09:21The Bargain (Author Response)
Please breathe normally between updates, as I can't guarantee they'll be within breathing range.

As to the power trip...it's cool, but I get greater pleasure knowing that something I've written appeals to so many.
