nice. You know, I agree with Harry, Valentines day can be rubbish, I mean the pressure of trying to find a valentines day card for someone you hate and eating way too much candy and getting sick; blech |

I really like the way the come to each other her in this story.
I always thought there where meant to be a couple and this is a nice way for them to realize it. |

Perfect! Harry saves the day, and Ginny and Harry get dumped, and then they get together! Hahaha and I love how Dobby just appeared out of nowhere, very entertaining! |

Who's Steven in Gryffidor (she's with him before they go out the portrait hole)? Perhaps you mean Dean? Well, from Nadine, he (and she) must be OC .
'"I just don't understand – how did it get there?" Dumbledore said, stroking his beard.' -- You've got a dumb Dumbledore .
How convenient for Dobby to show up at the Quidditch field, a little too convenient

Cute. Very cute. You need to write more. Now. I'm serious...This was the last of your stories that I've read and now there's nothing left! *Cries bitterly and gives you puppy dog eyes* Please write more...please? |

AHHH!! The cuteness!! I love it!!! What a wonderful
story!! Harry and Ginny were just adorable together, and it was
so sweet how he saved her *sigh*. Very well written
(congradulations on coming in first in the contest!) and as a bit of
random info...it was the exact length it takes me to straighten my
hair! YES!! (I can't stand not doing anything while
straightening my hair, and reading fancif requires no hands, that
that's what I do) Just thought you might find that interesting!

i love this story! cant believe you only have 2 fics... your "awakening power" is my absolute favourite fanfiction, u know.... i've been hoping and hoping for a sequel, but wif HBP coming out so soon, it was actually a brilliant decision not to make a sequel....dat way, nothing u write would be absurdly AU... anyway, this fic is so in character and harry and ginny really "gel"ed.... i really love it! |
freshwater Saturday 12th February 2005 11:18 | A Rubbish Holiday |
Ah, Sib.....thank you for a Valentine's story without too much angst, with some lovely fluff and--best of all--a happily-ever-after-it-all-works-out-for-Harry-and-Ginny ending. Loved it! |
XiaoXiao Saturday 5th February 2005 01:40 | A Rubbish Holiday |
Aww...that was sweet. And there was enough action and danger that it offset the fluffiness. Not that I object to fluff! I loved the ending scene. |
LoonyPhoenix Friday 4th February 2005 13:30 | A Rubbish Holiday |
Got around to actually reading the story. Decent bit of action/fluff hybrid, if a bit short for my taste. Ah, well... Can't have everything, I suppose.

*snorts* I'm not that stupid. I meant, Harry could get dumped and get anther girl within the hour. |

Oops, I see what you mean. Sorry, I read what you wrote wrong. It was a
bit of a sensitive spot with me, because one of the things I was
worried about when I was writing it was that people might not pick up
the timeline. :)
|
Nimbirosa Friday 4th February 2005 12:45 | A Rubbish Holiday |
*laughs* Oh, that ending scene was lovely.
I guess all I can say is this: Only Harry could dream up a rescue; get into a fight; get dumped and get another girl (the girl, thankyouverymuch!) within the hour.

Hi! I probably didn't make it clear enough, but there was a week span between the rescue and Harry getting dumped. :)
Thanks for the nice review!

Nice one ... one of the better valentine's stories I've read so far, imho of course :)
|
lissabee Thursday 3rd February 2005 21:12 | A Rubbish Holiday |
Wow! That was really good. The flow was good, and there was just enough tension before they came together! I like the rescue too, although it did seem a bit to easy for him, I know that that's not the point of this particular story
Good job! |
Expecto Patronum Thursday 3rd February 2005 20:15 | A Rubbish Holiday |
-sigh-
I do so love a good tale that has everything for whatever mood a person
is in. And as you can see by my pink background and white
letters, I'm all about the fluff, so you can pretty much assume that
the ending was all I expected and more :)
Thanks for a lovely Valentine's Day story that's true to Harry; nothing
is ever easy with him, but at least he always manages to conquer in the
end. And he got the girl, imagine that :)

<"Yes, it was my plan all along. Get dumped, find you, and have the whole day come together perfectly." He picked up his Butterbeer and held it up.">
I really like scarcastic!Harry!
This was full of action for a fluffy tale - I enjoyed the rescue - kind of a redoing of the second task. I'm also gald to see Stephen and Nadine fade into the sunset - perhaps they can double-date with Michael and Cho?

amulder Thursday 3rd February 2005 14:17 | A Rubbish Holiday |
Well. That was interesting. I think that the H/G conversation at the end read very well, came across as very honest.
Overall, kind of a strange combination of intrigue, action, and then
fluff. I think you've got a good skeleton here, but it could
really stand being fleshed out into a much longer and more detailed
piece.
thanks
