Yes!! Hahah that was brilliant. Harry and Ginny set out to pair up Ron and Hermione, but instead it looks as if Ron and Hermione were planning to pair them up all along! Excellent story

Wow talk about a twist at the end!
I love seeing Harry and Ginny get together and how different authors get them together. You have done a fine job of this
Overall I loved it! Keep up the good work.

Really sweet.

Nice and . . . I dont know, but I sure did enjoyed it. Brilliant idea, to make Harry use the no-boys-allowed alarm system to get Ginny down.

Brilliant, brilliant, and. . . . . . . .BRILLIANT

What a great tale of love between Harry and Ginny. I really enjoyed reading this. It was fun to see how you would have them slowly coming together and getting closer. Ginny is probably the only girl he could truly open up to like that. Your writing is very realistic in character and dialogue. The best part was the kiss at the end, what fun!

Well...first the bad...unless the Ron and Hermione fight was a set-up then you missed something key in OotP...they've cooled the bickering down...and Ron no longer goes after S.P.E.W. and Hermione no longer taunts him about Krum. After the kiss and the perfume...the two no longer go after the jugular like that.

Now the good...granted...I was leary of reading anything else by you after seeing what you've done in Adaptations...but I think that you handled both Harry and Ginny's character marvelously in this one. You didn't have Ginny leading poor clueless Harry around by the nose and you didn't have Harry and absolute fumbling moron like many like to portray. You didn't make Ginny into this in your face sex-kitten and you didn't make Harry a complete and total moody prat. In essense it seems you took what JK gave us and extrapolated to where they would be a few months later. I love good characterization and in this story at least you have it.

The events in the story were humorous and believable with Ginny shopping in the Lingerie store, nailing Malfoy and his goons, the two just talking and being silly together, the pouring of souls at the Shrieking Shack, the way they both didn't want things to end. Just wonderfully well done.

I have to admit after Adaptations I had vowed I would never read another story by you...but I'm glad I relented...I'll never read Adaptations...I just think you are going places there that the characters would never go and have seriously missed the characterization...but I will be open to giving future stories by you a chance based on this one and Fairy Tale Ending.

What a lovely twist!  That was so great I never would have thought for this story you would have made Hermione and Ron get Harry and Ginny together.  I it was just enought fluff to not make me puke.....actually no amount of fluff could make me puke.  Anyway...I'm going to go see if you wrote anyother stories...keep up the brilliant writing!

Great story,

Nice twist at the end! It's good to read something by you, since we've been denied Chapter 18 of Adaptations for some time now, one of my all time favorite stories... And one I might add that I was afraid had been abandoned since the anouncement of Half Blood Prince, as has happened with other fics in the past when a new book is announced. So I was quite pleased to read your response to an earlier review that it is on it's way!

Anyways, a quite clever story, and I loved the end where Harry stepped on the stairway for the girls dormitory to get Ginny to slide back down to him, just like Harry to pull something out of his hat at the last second, to save the day...

I'm working on 18, I promise.  I fully intend to have Adaptations completed before July.  Glad you liked this little bunny too.

Very cute ending.  I loved Harry triggering the slide and Ron and Hermione's high five.  I actually, sorta, saw that one coming, but I enjoyed it anyway.

Very good story.  Wish Ron and Hermione could've got together, but I simply love H/G!!  I loved the part when Ginny had to go and get undergarments and kept teasing Harry about it.  The ending was wonderful as well, Harry not really understanding it was a date.

I hope you write more soon!

Wednesday 9th March 2005 09:02First Dates (Author Response)
Who said she bought undergarments?  Maybe she needed a new hanky?  Yeah, right!  I can see Ginny as someone with a real appreciation for silky things.  Oh my.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! I absolutely LOVED this!!!I do hope there will be more.. pleeeaaasseeeee? But you didn't write the end, so  maybe I could hope?I liked everything,. from the date to the kiss (which, by the way, was my favorite part)

As Ginny's arms moved from pressing on Harry's chest to wrapping themselves around his neck, Ron and Hermione looked at each other, grinned, and exchanged a very enthusiastic high five.

 Absolutely brilliant!

Hooray!!  Thank you for starting my day on such a high note! I don't know who said you couldn't do fluff, but they were obviuously mistaken.

Loved Ginny telling Harry that it WAS a date.  That was so funny!  Their time was sweet and fun and seemed so charmingly right.  Thanks for sharing.

I was so excited when I saw you had submitted a new story!  As one of the authors I keep a look-out for you delivered a story that is both entertaining and heart-wrenching at the same time.  Harry's lack of self-esteme when in comes to girls was so close to canon that JKR herself could have written his lines; your Ginny was everything I love about her, too.  Basically, I don’t know which part I liked best...the near-food fight in The Three Broomsticks or Ron and Hermione’s reaction to the Harry/Ginny argument and subsequent kiss.

I  hope you don't wait too long to post again.

Sincerely,

Arnel

I'm glad you liked it.  And I am hard at work on Part 18 of Adaptations.  I hope I bought myself enough goodwill with this fluffy little thing to get you folks to read another tough couple of chapters for Ginny there.  What doesn't kill her will ultimately make her stronger.

That was absolutely adorable!  I loved how Ginny tricked Harry into a date, and the ending was very cute.
Sunday 6th March 2005 08:21First Dates (Author Response)

Tricked him???  Nah, she just made the most of the opportunity he afforded her.  Although that little stumble thing to get to lace her arm in his was nicely done, wasn't it?  The little minx.

That was the point: to surprise the reader at the end as much as Harry was.

hat was great! I really liked the Harry you wrote.  At last a boy  who acted like a boy despite his problems. The chip thing was great, why the kid can't be just as michievious as his father is beyond me. He doesn't have to be the brooding tragic hero ALL the time. Ginny would get tired of that I'm sure. Loved him stamping on the steps to make the slide.
Sunday 6th March 2005 08:12First Dates (Author Response)

Thanks, I'm glad you noticed that.  I wanted Harry to choose to act normally rather than always hoping to be seen as normal.  If he wants to be thought of as normal he has to choose to act that way, right?  Let's just hope that together with Ginny, he can make the twins, as well as Sirius and his Dad, proud.

Oh, that was adorable!!  Just the perfect date!  Now it's Ron and Hermione's turn, right?
Sunday 6th March 2005 08:06First Dates (Author Response)

Thank you.  I am sorry but this is a one-shot story.  I'll leave Ron and Hermione to sort out their own issues.

Well, maybe not exactly a one-shot, I am in the middle, so to speak, of a smutty little sequel called 'First Times' but it DEFINITELY isn't suitable for PS.

That was wonderful!  I loved Harry coming up with the need for a good night kiss...

Will you continue it?  The new couple still needs to get Hermonie and Ron together and pull some pranks.

Tee Hee  That was great, clueless Harry is always fun, and  despite what she may argue, I do think Ginny (at least during the day, anyway) isn't as clued up as she would like to think!
Sunday 6th March 2005 08:00First Dates (Author Response)

Really?  I'll have to think about that.  I was hoping, from Ginny's reaction when Harry suggested they go to Hogsmeade together and her 'stumble' as they walked there, that the reader would understand that Ginny thought this was a date from the asking.

Maybe Solly is right, I do tend to be a bit too subtle.

Thanks for reading and the review.
