Very interesting. You captured well the observational aspect of Hermione that we saw in the books. Thank you for writing this; it makes us all contemplate this moment from when things started to change for these four in an AU. In my book, a bit of extra contemplation is generally a good thing. Good job. |

That was so perfect. I really caught the mood of the whole thing. I wish there was more. |

Well, done! First person stories are great, because you can try and imagine the numerous conversations you have with yourself on a daily basis. In this case, reading Hermione's thoughts helped put me in the mood and feel what I think you were trying to capture for this scene. It starts out thoughtful and promising and then becomes subdued upon her reflection of their changing relationships. Then, you end with a note of promise, as they gather together as a quartet.
~Great job! |

I was planning on doing this scene from Ginny, Harry, and Ron's POV but it never came to be... I wrote Ginny's POV, but it truly wasn't very good. |

What a sweet snapshot! I really felt I was right there with them, you evoked the scene beautifully. How gorgeous that Mrs Weasley just can’t be angry at Harry - I loved that! |

"His eyes would dart around the house looking for something – something I knew neither Ron nor I could fulfill." ah, how true! A lovely little fic, perfect emotion! I heart watching conversations! hahaha! nice work! |

This is really great. Very original and well-written. Seeing H/G in Hermione's point-of-view is something fresh. |
Wild Magelet Monday 27th February 2006 19:34 | Observing Harry |
I love this so much. I've read it before, but I think it's one of those rare, original fics that will always stand alone in the enormous numbers of HP fanfictions out there. Beautifully written and very insightful. Congratulations on the SOTW, very much deserved! |
aschowin Monday 27th February 2006 10:48 | Observing Harry |
That was a sweet perspective on both relationships. I liked the way you said, and didn't say, everything about these couples. Great job. |
Lady Ginny Potter Monday 28th March 2005 13:14 | Observing Harry |
How very sweet. I wonder....if perhaps you have more
storys. I'm going to see and until then you have to write what
happened with Harry and Ginny or you can't read the sixth book!
(I've been telling my little brother that if doesn't clean his room or
mine for that matter, he can't read the book. Evil little bugger
I am.) Great story.

Awww!!! I love this story. I like how you took a different approach at
a Harry/Ginny fic and told it from Hermione's POV. Very cute!!

Your Hermione really gets it. She realizes that there should be something special going on between her and Ron, but at the moment, he hasn't figured out what's right in front of his nose. *Goes to the equipment cupboard, selects a Beater's bat and hefts it as though considering what part of Ron's head to apply it to.* I think his insight into what's happening between Harry and Ginny shows that he is maturing, but right now, Hermione is 'way ahead of him. I like that about this story and hope that Hermione is willing to wait for Ron to come to his senses about her. |
Friday 3rd March 2006 21:23 | Observing Harry (Author Response) |
Haahah yes, I agree about the beaters bat. Thanks for the nice words, they really mean a lot especially from such a good author! |
wokka42 Sunday 20th March 2005 22:45 | Observing Harry |
What a sweet little story! It's a lovely snapshot of a moment, something only short stories can do really well. I really like your portrayal of Ron - it's not the usual caricatures of Ron-furious-at-Harry-for-even-LOOKING-at-his-sister, or Ron-thrilled-they're-together, but simply Ron trying to assimilate a strange new change in his relationship with Harry. I also like Hermione's complex response to witnessing such a private moment; she's a little embarrassed at seeing it at all, but her fascination - and sadness - seems just right too. *wistful sigh* Stories like this make an incorrigible romantic like me go to jelly inside. Thanks for sharing! |
Friday 3rd March 2006 21:25 | Observing Harry (Author Response) |
Yeah, I wasn't too sure about Ron at first. I first thought of the mad-Ron type, because that appealed to my H/G romantic-ness, but I thought this would be more the real-Ron, and I like him a whole lot more. |

I was looking for something short, sweet and lovely today and I'm so glad I found this. I have to agree with the other reviewers here in saying that it was wonderful to hear this in Hermione's voice. You've written her very, very well indeed! Your touch was subtle and pitch-perfect. I look forward to reading more of your work -- welcome aboard! |

Fun fun ... nice one shot :) The mystery of Harry/Ginny's conversation really adds to the effect. Good job!

Wild Magelet Friday 18th March 2005 19:22 | Observing Harry |
Very, very good. I really enjoyed reading; loved the Harry/Ginny interaction. And as much as I love fluff (and I do. I could live on fluff alone quite happily! =) I kind of felt that this was more than that. Great job. |
Friday 3rd March 2006 21:27 | Observing Harry (Author Response) |
Thank you, and I could definetly live on fluff as well! Well, actually, occasionally some long ones, or angst (pretty much everything, I guess...) |
Aberforth's Avatar Friday 18th March 2005 15:58 | Observing Harry |
It's very nice to see this story again. I enjoyed it very much. Hermione's POV is very well done here; and the understated interactions between Harry and Ginny, Ron and Hermione are wonderful. I hope that you were able to carry out your intent to complete the cycle, and that we'll see them soon as well.. |

Nice. Just feels slightly unfinished. But still very nice, especially the unusual perspective. |

That was sweet. Thanks. |
sonicdale Friday 18th March 2005 06:30 | Observing Harry |
oh.
This was sweet.
A nice little nibblet of Hermione's voice.
I tend to think Herm isn't all stuck up, prim and logical all the time. She's a girl that has feelings -- and with Ron sitting next to her it was a nice change to see things from her perspective. Good show. |
Katieay Friday 18th March 2005 06:13 | Observing Harry |
I put off reading this last night, because I thought it was another "I've loved him all my life" story, from Ginny's PoV. Teaches me for making assumptions ;)
There's a gentleness to this entire story that I don't think we get to see in Hermione often enough. We all know it's there, but we hardly ever get to see it in regards to Harry. You've written her perfectly here.
I liked the line about the conversation between her and Ron turning into something completely unfamiliar, too. It was all so so nice. The beginning had a kind of Melancholy to it and it just lulled us into the fluff. I just really like it! |
Friday 3rd March 2006 21:29 | Observing Harry (Author Response) |
Wow, thanks so much!! Really, thank you. I'm so glad you liked it. I agree, there are a lot of the same fluff stories (all of which I love, however ) but thanks for those kind words. |
weasleysrcool Friday 18th March 2005 03:34 | Observing Harry |
I think that you captured the essence of Hermione in that one. It's a very good little short story. I loved the gentle interplay between her and Ron. Very nicely done indeed. |
tante Thursday 17th March 2005 22:36 | Observing Harry |
Excellent point of view, quite unique. I really liked just seeing through Hermione's eyes, having to imagine Harry & Ginny's conversation. This was well done! |

So very cute! I know I read this somewhere before, but I definitely was glad to have an excuse to read it again. |
Eressea Thursday 17th March 2005 22:16 | Observing Harry |
Mmm. Nice change, to see it from Hermione's point of view. It's rather original. We've seen that sort of thing between Ginny and Harry a hundred times, but never from the outside looking in. Nice. |
dophingirl79 Thursday 17th March 2005 22:11 | Observing Harry |
ahh cute and short, and plenty of fluff, good work. |
