I'm still worried- something really nasty usually happens on Halloween, and I don't trust Skeeter to be it.

Ginny stood up and slammed her napkin back onto the table. "I'm heading over to the locker rooms; I'll see you there."

Locker rooms? Since when have the Quiditch team changing rooms have locker rooms?

Rita is a jolly fat freak to have published that article, but I liked it. I always thought JKR's were a bit too long. This one was interesting.

I like Luna's reaction towards the article on the prophecy too. It makes good sense.

Nice chapter

My first crit:
Why would Rita risk Hermione's revealing her Animagus status?
Also, Neville saying she was a "Witch" didn't work for me becuase in the wizarding world (still they have problems with feminism as it's not called the Witch's world) being a witch should never be an insult. If Neville had been a muggle it would be more in charactor for him to use that term in a derogatory manner. Even in jest, it didn't feel right to me.
What did I like about this chapter?
EVERYTHING ELSE!
Your scenes between Harry and Ginny are particularly delightful, and your characterizations of the trio are spot on!

YES! Another win for Gryffindor. I loved the end when Harry caught it, and Zabini's hand covered his, and Harry made that cheeky remark. I love when he gets one over on a Slytherin.

Way to go!

RITA! And Ron is being really unreasonable, what does Harry have to make up to HIM? It should be the other way around.. anyway, rant over lol, great chapter! Go Gryffindor!!

The speech was well done.
And that Ron missed it was classic. Ha!
Hm. House elves screening the mail. That was a good idea. Hope he gets SOME real mail...

Nice rack? Heh. Guy talk. You know, there isn't much of that here on PS. I'd bet it's because the guys are few and far between.... Makes me feel kinda lonely, all this girl talk going on and I can't read any guy talk. thanks.

Wow. That Harry shared his dream with Ron, that's... heh. Hope he doesn't share ALL of his dreams....

Uh, oh. Another Rita article...
Snow in Quidditch. Ug.
Nice catch, there. Hope Harry gets the eye of the scout.
Harry's gonna catch it for kissing Gin in front of Ron, right? Even winning the game he won't let that down. He'd better not..

Good chapter. This one sure had some meat. I'm hoping to see the next one soon.

"I hope that Ministry scout was paying attention." Ohhhhhhhhhh!! *squeeeeee*  Ministry scout???!??!?!?!!!!!!! Awesome!  That made my day! Question is though- will Harry be able to beat ol' Voldie in order to play prof. Quidditch? And will he even be accpeted? Well, I guess I'll have to wait and see!

Hmm, what else? Oh! Yeah, that Skeeter article- about Harry being a player- had me laughing and crying at the same time! I was sooooo mad at Skeeter, but I was laughing so hard at the way Pavarti and Lavender where throwing themselves at Harry! And the way both Ginny and Ron got angry with him. He he. Ah well.

They all turned to see Ron coming down the stairs, bleary-eyed and with sleep-tousled hair. He stopped short when he noticed everyone staring at him and the paleness of their faces. "What? What did I miss?"

Poor Ron. Poor clueless Ron. I was so sad after the beginning of the chapter, to actually laugh at it, but I did find it really funny. And speaking of the beginning of the chapter- I was really touched. But the way everyone started blaming/telling him to hurry up really got my blood boiling. How DARE people be that ignorant and selfish. It reminded me that no matter what, in our world, as much as in fiction, people will never be satisfied.

And about the title. All Hallow's Eve: During Halloween, something always happens to Harry- I wonder if you're foreshadowing something...

Well, I think that's all I have to say.

Looking forward to the next chapter!!

Thanks!  I'm glad you enjoyed it.  I love Ron, too, and could so easily see him sleeping through somehting big like that.  The Witch Weekly article was the start of what happens to Harry on Halloween - it continues  next chapter.  Hope you'll like it.  Thanks for taking the time to always review, I appreciate it.

Harry Potter and the Curse of the Damned

Awesome chapter! It's always ten times better when the muses co-operate. Great writing and I love the fact that you pointed out such a major problem in journalism today which is ususally ignored, but is starting to take its toll on news reporting.

"Journalism should be about the facts, not opinions and innuendo" you said it Ginny! Unfortunately that's not what sells. Well I am on my way to college and I promise to be a better Journalist than rita skeeter (cross my heart)

I also loved the entire article and just the way you wrote it. Awesome! did that take a lot of effort? or did it just come to you naturally? Judging by tht bit of writing I think you'd make an exceptional column writer in one of those fashion mags.

That whole foreshadowing about friends being divided is starting to show up and it's unnerving to say the least. It's starting to look hopeless for Ron and Hermione. they are getting back together right? Please say yes!

oh and how many chapters left exactly?

Monday 11th April 2005 07:27Harry Potter and the Curse of the Damned (Author Response)

Giggle.  Yeah, that comment from Ginny was my own little dig at the media, lol.  What ever happened to Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How?

The article gave me a lot of grief, and my good online friend KEDme was a huge help.  Unfotunately, I forgot to give her credit at the end - stupid me.  So, thank her for a lot of the inspiration on that.

Excellent!  There's so much going on - and you juggle it all very well.  I am feeling a bit sorry for Harry - with all his pre-match problems.  I really enjoyed reading this and am looking forward to your next chapter.  As always, I want you to know that I greatly appreciate you sharing this story.  It (and your year 6) have brought me many  hours of enjoyment.

Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying it.  I'm glad you're feeling bad for Harry.  I feel bad for him, too.  It's a lot of pressure to juggle on top of everything else.

Once again an excellent chapter.  I am enjoying the tension between Ron and Hermione but make sure it wont last too long .  I really like where the story is going, especially with Rita Skeeter!  That woman causes nothing but trouble for Harry, but she makes for a good story.  Cant wait for the next chapter. Please post soon.

i only have one question, is hermione gonna tell the minister that rita skeeter is an animagus? if yes, i cant wait...
Sunday 10th April 2005 08:32Harry Potter and the Curse of the Damned (Author Response)
I don't think the minister would care if she did.  Rita is doing his work for him and keeping the public pressure OFF of him, and ON Harry.  So, no...I think Fudge would just bury than news deep.

Harry Potter and the Curse of the Damned

I read these two last chapters in a row.

Your story is getting better. I think you progressively managed to analyse the character's inner thoughts. The situation between Ron and Hermione is one of your best achievements. And the relationship between Harry and Ginny is basically derived from Canon. Well Done!

I just hope that nothing serious will happen to Hannah and to Terry. The way you portraited them, they are nice and gentle people. Basically, and this is a very good sign, your set of second characters (Luna, Neville, Hannah, Terry, Parvati, Lavender) are close to what we can conclude from Canon. Again: Well Done!

May the Gods of Inspiration never leave you!

Bravo again.  Great chapter as always.  I was curious though.  Did you misspell Hermione's name in Skeeter's article on purpose or was that just a typo?  I noticed that Luna was called Lucy as well and that made me think that it was more intended.  If so, cuddos to you.  I also can't remember if you were amongst those who assumed that Ginny was named Virginia before JKR told us the contrary, or if that was in there on purpose as well.
So, are we going to see an all out media blitz from Mr. Potter now?  Either way I can't wait.

LOL, yes, Hermione, Luna, and Ginny had their names wrong intentionally.  If you noticed, only Cho's was right...and she was the only one who gave a quote, as well...

The Virginia thing was meant as a joke.  Personally, I always thought her name was just Ginny...like Harry is just Harry.  It was just a lame joke.

i think i should explain my "its about time" comment. i just like it when they are alone and the fluff is just there. it gets my mind off r/hr :) so any little bit you give me of just the two of them i just love. i meant nothing wrong by it.

Thanks!  I was wondering what you meant.  If you're looking for some H/G alone time, I think you might like next chapter.

Ron and Hermone are moving forward...although at a snail's pace.  Not much longer, however.  I promise.

Harry Potter and the Curse of the Damned

Another enjoyable chapter...just the right mix of angst and competition, enough to satisfy all the Percy/Rita/Slytherin-haters in your readership!  You did a nice job with Luna; I've never seen her written as anything but dreamy-eyed, so annoyed was a nice change!  I thought she'd be more articulate if her emotions ever showed!

I'm looking forward to Chapter 21, but not the end of the story...

Saturday 9th April 2005 06:45Harry Potter and the Curse of the Damned (Author Response)
I freely admit that I have trouble with Luna; however, she is in Ravenclaw, so there has to be more than the dreamy ditz that we've seen, right?

Harry Potter and the Curse of the Damned

This must have been a hard chapter to wrestle into shape.  It's hard to read, since one feels the pressure build and build on Harry, accompanied by a sense that it will get much worse, very soon.  The scene with Harry, Nate, and Ginny in the Quidditch changing room was very well done.  It felt like a moment of respite.  As always, your characterization of Ginny rings true.

Ron is hard to sympathize with in recent chapters.  There's too much focus on me from him lately.  I hope he can manage to mature a bit before Harry needs to lean on him when the crisis comes.

Friday 8th April 2005 20:29Harry Potter and the Curse of the Damned (Author Response)
It was a hard chapter to wrestle with!  You noticed that, huh?  Sigh.  I hope you'll like Ron more in the next chapter.  I love Ron, and I do think he's progressing....he's just fighting it all the way.

Harry Potter and the Curse of the Damned

Awesome - the aftermath to the Daily Prophet article wasn't what I had expected, but I honestly liked your version of the events better than mine!!!

Some very interesting tidbits in this chapter - Neville and Luna breaking up? I know JKR nixed that particular ship but I liked your version of it sofar. Finally Ron took a leaf from his mouth and told us what bothers him about Hermione - can't wait to hear Hermione's story!

Arrrggghhhhh - bleeding Git!Big-headed!Prat!Percy, he and Fudge drives me bonkers, your writing is excellent and draws you in to the story and fires you up emotionally and Percy is - many naughty words...

       - what a lovely, fluffy moment in the locker room before the Quidditch match between Harry and Ginny - so well written and and well balanced, sweet but not overly so!!!

- hmmmm, I feel bad for writing this but the quidditch match itself was a wee bit disappointing, not the best one you've written. The best one was in chapter 16 of Power of Emotion and I had sort of expected something to blow it away which didn't happen... It wasn't bad, I just had high expectations as your other writing has improved from very good to brilliant. It felt a bit short and 'distant' - sorry...

That aside, another brilliant chapter!!!

Thank you for writing and sharing this fic with us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday 8th April 2005 16:40Harry Potter and the Curse of the Damned (Author Response)

First off, sorry you didn't like the Quidditch match.  I'll freely admit that after PoE, I almost considered skipping Quidditch altogether in this one, but I couldn't do that to Harry.  I can completely understand why JKR does it, now, though.  It's hard to keep coming up with new scenarios for the same thing and keep Gryffindor winning.  I'll admit, I've seen stories where Gryffindor loses...or even worse, Harry doesn't catch the Snitch...but they always seem "wrong" to me.  Shrugs.  So, there you go.

I will admit, I'm very curious about what you expected the aftermath of the article to be like.  As for Harry and Ginny...the next chapter picks up right after the game, and Ginny isn't finished discussing that article with Harry yet.  Evil Grin.

Harry Potter and the Curse of the Damned

Ooh, fab chapter!  I really like Harry's reaction to everything.  The second article was also brilliant.  Ms Skeeter really needs to get her comeuppance!  And Luna's acting strangely, I mean a different kind of strange to normal.  Can't wait to see how all this pans out!

*sends positive energy*

I freely admit I have trouble with Luna, which is why I didn't use her much in PoE.  I do have somewhere I'm going with her...but I'll admit I have trouble writing her.

Friday 8th April 2005 16:32Harry Potter and the Curse of the Damned (Author Response)
Well, I've just begun writing it.  I think it's going to take me a while to get it right.  Or acceptable to me as right, anyway ;)  Plus...you know I like to spend several chapters on wrap up if you read PoE.  That's the one thing I always think JKR does too quick.  I like to read (and write) about the fallout.  So....this was a really wordy way of saying I'm not close to finishing yet.

Good for Harry!  I'm glad he decided to make a stand & become a leader.  He deserves it!  Ginny & Harry are adorable as always.  And Ron & Hermione are still frustrating the heck out of me.  So what else is new?  I'll bide my time until they're back together.  I hope you let Rita Skeeter get what she deserves.  Percy too.  However, I would love to see Percy come crawling back begging for forgiveness.  That would be priceless.  I enjoyed the chapter & can't wait to find out what happens next.  Update soon please!

Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying it.  Percy's fate - in my mind - has changed SO many times since I started writing this you can't even imagine.  As of now, I'm still not finished writing...so...I'm still unsure about Percy.

Okay, where's the start of the queue, for those wanting to smack Percy?

As ever Melindaleo, another wonderful chapter I do hope Ron can forgive Harry soon, it won't help his state of mind to be at war with Hermione & Harry.

And it's another brilliant chapter from Melindaleo! Yep, this girl is really on fire, folks!

I loved 's speech. I can fully imagine him delivering it; it didn't seem un-ish at all.

Ooh, that Rita! I just want to strangle her sometimes! "One has to wonder, one has to wonder, one has to wonder." I'm maliciously envisioning  storming to the Ministry to report her as an unregistered Animagus, but somehow I think the Ministry would try to cover that up in view of her nasty little articles that Fudge, no doubt, thoroughly approves of. Hmph!

Neat little catch at the end there. Go !

And go you! Keep it up, and maybe you'll inspire me to do the same!

LOL, thanks!  Yeah, Zabini isn't as rotten as Malfoy, but Harry is supposed to win at Quidditch. It doesn't seem to fit in the Potterverse, otherwise.
