Aside from the margin problems i love the latest in the story of Molly's family *grin* please keep up the great work and umm maybe a dont' drink or eat warning would be good as my tea ended up on the monitor twice. *grin*

Sorry about the margins.  I have no control over the technical display of the fic.  Try reading it in a smaller font.  That got it all on the page for me.

And, I'm kinda sorry about your soggy monitor, but not really.    So glad you're amused.

Molly,  where were you when my kids were little?  What do you do now that I have three girls in their early 20's and a 17 year old boy?  Their problems require your touch too, girl.

Dear Kelleypen,

*stomp, stomp, stomp*  OK.  Now that I've put out the fire,

I'll be happy to forward your howler on to Mrs. Weasley.  She'll be pleased to honor your request, I'm sure.  Thank you for your kind interest in her book.  Do be patient, her advice for older children won't be available for several weeks.  Please address any further howlers directly to Molly Weasley, The Burrow, Ottery St. Catchpole, Kent.

With Respect.

I am having so much fun reading this.  I love the little tidbits of Weasley family life.  Who knew that Charley was so hard to potty train.  What a wonderful sense of imagination you have and thanks again for sharing Molly's tips with us.

Just a brief not to tell you how great this continuation is --- it's obvious that yeas, you've dealt with children. Of course, some mention of the Muggle devices for controlling children, Duct Tape and Baling Wire, might be useful as well...
Monday 18th April 2005 11:23Molly Weasley's Practical Guide to Magical Childcare (Author Response)

My my, the things muggles think of to get around without magic.

You know, my three eldest have Attention Deficit Disorder so there have been days when I've seriously considered duct tape and baling wire, well, twine actually.

Thanks for taking time to send a note.  I'm glad you're enjoying the Guide.

Oh, sorry, my talented beta is out of comission for a week.  And, I'm polishing up the next chapter.  We'll post as soon as we can, but it'll be at least a week.

Thanks for the note!  Glad you giggled.

This series is so wonderful!  It is cracking me up.  I wish I had some of these spells at my disposal.  Sigh.

Thanks Ginny!  I appreciate you coming over to lend your support.  Surely your Padawan Learner can't be that much trouble.  You want these spells for a friend right?

You'll have to sign up for a charms class next semester.

She would seal them to the potty seat until they 'produced'??? Classic.

With the Weasley obsession with Quidditch I'd imagine that the 'basic first aid' spells will be coming up soon. Sure wish i had the packing charm on my kids' toys. And a temporary silencing charm to cast on myself after stepping on legos in the middle of the night to quiet all the cursing and hopping around on one foot.

This continues to rock. Keep it up!
Monday 18th April 2005 11:13Molly Weasley's Practical Guide to Magical Childcare (Author Response)

Yes, I needed the modified colloportus spell for my third daughter.

Most definitely.  Quidditch and it's accompanying spells will be addressed.

My LH wants that silencing charm for much the same reason you do.  Only its toy animals here.  Those little dinosaur spikes and cow ears are really painful.

Thank you very much!

I'm looking forward to writing more.  It's mostly done, I just need to add a few ideas that have recently hit me.

Good stuff!  Hilarious to those of us who haven't had to raise our own kids (yet)...  and probably still amusing to those who have.  Just one thing:  "drug" is not the past-tense of "drag" in British English.  Try "dragged" instead.

It always amazes me that people who don't have children think this is funny too.  I'm glad, though!

Thanks for the vocab - I'd forgotten about that one.

Oh boy this just keeps getting better. I know if I close my eyes and concentrate I can get that repulsus spell to work. The kids feeling the urge to go clean their rooms! Oh My! Ron trudging mournfully out the room after breaking something- I can just see it! I hope Charlie's girlfriends are reading this. I can't WAIT  Molly gets up to the teenage hormone driven years. snicker.

Yes, I find a chopstick works best (for lack of a wand), but still, not quite well enough to get the spell to work.

Your snicker makes me smile too!  Thanks so much for letting me know what you like about the Guide.

I especially loved the toilet training part.  Poor Charlie!  Acutally I feel sorry for all the Weasley children, they must be all , by now!  To have your childhood in the paper for all to see!    I once went through something similiar when my sister and I ended up in the paper for whalloping Santa Claus when we were 4!  Keep the articles coming!  They are great!

Poor Santa!  I'm sure you're much better behaved now.

Thanks for your praise!

I am very much enjoying this piece but I do wonder what the children themselves have to say about so much of the personal lives being shared ... ;)

Wow, I'm your first review here!  Thanks!

See my comments to Aggiebell below and for the previous chapter to see what I think the children would have to say about this.  You've actually given me an idea.  We'll see if I can incorporate it into chapter four.

Brilliant again, Tante.  I could use that repelling charm while I'm cooking dinner! And the potty-training story!  *snerk*  I think Molly needs to tell that to Chralie's girlfriend, whoever she is!

Yes, I've often wished the repelling charm would work for me.  I'd put it around the TV too.

Oh, yes, the timing of this guide and it's anecdotes is no coincidence.  Witch Weekly has been after Mrs. Weasley to write her mothering tips for quite some time.  I'm sure she accepted our offer at this time to guarantee its maximum effect on her children.  After their particular adventures last year, they owe her.

Dear Tante and Mrs. Weasley,

Thank you ever so much for the entertaining and informative stories.

I'm looking forward to the advices about the Hogwarts Years. From the legends I have heard, a fleet/flock of Post Owls have reached thier retirement from the correspondence between you and Professor McGonagal over the twins antics. I would think perhaps after so much correspondence, you would be on a first named basis with her.

Thank you again and I'm looking forward to further updates,

Sam

Dear Sam,

Thank you for your interest in Mrs. Weasley's work.  I'll send the owl on to her.  Yes, indeed, I'm sure she'll have interesting things to say on the subject of communication with school officials.  Poor Errol might have an opinion on that topic as well.

Best Wishes
