First of all, let me say that I think the writing in this chapter was the best I've seen so far in your story. It's smooth, clean and concise, and I would say that's probably the No. 1 thing I look for in any story, even beyond the content itself. I can't say that's been the case for all of your early chapters, but if you continue like this the rest of the way I'm surely in for an even more enjoyable experience than I previously thought.
That said, you've somehow managed to raise the romantic tension even higher. Harry's epiphany in the birthing ward was both profound and foreboding because it's clear that being with Ginny and having a family of his own are the only things he's certain about at this point. When that's (seemingly) taken away -- and it's obvious that it can't be long now before it will be -- he's going to be completely lost.
I'm thinking that might be even more so now because just about everyone he knows is now in on Ginny's charade. I can't help thinking she's just making it harder on everyone with every moment she resists the truth -- both in terms of honest with Harry and in regard to her own divided feelings. That's also an extremely nice buildup on your part, so kudos to you.
Looking at it the other way, Dean struck me as a bit consigned here. He might be a victim, but he's not a completely blind one, and I can appreciate that. I'd even go so far to say that if you wanted to swing Ginny Harry's way here, it would probably work out with the least collective pain. But I'm sure that's not where you're heading; it's not nearly as much fun literarily.
Elsewhere, I really liked how you portrayed McGonagall in this chapter. You brought across her sharp, honest style and her fierce loyalty to her students (past and present) brilliantly. Plus, she was the best voice of reason so far, and one is certainly needed at this point.
Anyway, good job. I'm rather enjoying this so far.

| The tension just keeps rising for me when all the pieces are falling into place. Everyone except Harry knows and Ginny is just taking her sweet time. On the one side, I can understand that this is a difficult thing to bring up and resolve, but on the flip side, the longer she waits, the worse the crash is gonna be when he does find out. The end of this chapter shows that very well.. Harry's mind is made up without knowing the full circumstances. There's definitely anxiety building as we raise up that slope.. Pretty soon it's gonna reach the tip and then down, down, down... |

| I hope Ginny is realistic here in her decision to drag her feet. I don't know about anyone else, but I would probably delay as long as I could in telling someone news that bad. It's never as bad as we seem, but that anxiety and fear makes everything seem worse. Poor Ginny has been trying so hard to make a life out of nothing and now that her life is back- poor dear is too scared to fess up in case it disappears again. |

Oww... I've got a tummy ache. I'm all tied up from knowing what
kind of blow Harry will get, but still not seeing it happen.
There should be a warning on this story "can be hazardous to the health
of overly sensitive persons" or someting like that. You write too
well....
