| I also love the foreshadowing of trouble with Draco here. That stare down would leave Harry uneasy. It is frightening to be hated and I think most people have had those moments when they just know something is going to go wrong. And poor Harry, with his background, he has more than a reason to fear it. Great set up. |

I love Harry's vulnerability with Ginny in this chapter. I have to admit, she makes me a little mad with her response. He couldn't be more honest and open and she's playing games. I know she has reason to be angry, but she isn't really. He does need to know that he hurt her, but I would have liked to see her do it more gently.
As all works out well, it doesn't matter too much. And it lightens the heavy moment a bit too.

| I understand Harry's apprehension about Draco. I really hope he doesn't get loose! We will see. You have set the scene. Finally Harry and Ginny are getting together. It looks like Ron & Hermione's first born is on the way. This is a really good story. I'm glad Harry told Ginny what he had been thinking. That was very good. I liked Ginny's response. I don't know why I haven't started reading this before now. So far, I really like it. I think your characterizations are "dead on". I enjoy these "post hogwarts" fics as there are so many plot lines to venture into!
I was reading this and saw your use of Eloise as the reporter and I thought, 'hmmm...an "After the End" fan? I just jumped to the next chapter heading and saw I was right! Brilliant!
I also noticed that this was chapter came out before HBP...As I read it, I wondered if it was after because of Ginny's comments about Harry's "stupid Nobility complex"...were you channelling Jo when you wrote that? Just proves I'm right in saying you know these characters.
Can't wait to read more. |

great story...ive read through your "defining moments" story, and the outtakes...
never bothered to leave a review until now...ehehhehee...sry.
anyway, one thing that's been bothering me is that u always describe the characters apparating with a wand...and as far as i know, that is not so...just something i thought i'd point out.
otherwise, im going to plow on and read the rest of this great story, and ill be waiting for the next installment. keep writing!! :D |

I started this story before HBP, and before we knew very much about Apparition. I've modified things to try and bring them in line, and I've got an explaination about the wand issue in the next chapter.

Aww, leave it to Hermione to again interupt one of the great emotional moments in Harry's life, lol!
It seems to me that Harry really hasn't healed yet, but he's trying. He managed to get the words out, anyway. I hope Ginny can show him how. Never mind the war, the Dursleys alone chipped away at him for years, it makes sense that he's afraid to let anyone get too close. |

Hehe...it was time for a change in scenery.
Oh, by no means are we healed yet...long way to go still. And your absolutly right, a lot of Harry's problem stems from failure to develop proper attachments as a young child. (At least, according to my 101 Psych class two years ago.)
But Ginny's there now, and I have no doubt she'll help. ;) |
