| I found this fic recently and I'm thrilled at having discovered a
post-HBP fic with a -gasp!- original plot! ;-) I'm amazed at how well
you did in taking the basici nformation JKR left for us at the end of
HBP, then translating it into something unique and fascinating as
compared to what else is floating around. Your characterizations
are dead-on and your narrative is fantastic. I'm eagerly looking
forward to more.

| I suppose that depends on how hard it is to kill a vampire using magic.
Or perhaps a wizard can kill a vampire with magic, but didn't want to
make it look like a wizard doing the killing. Perhaps the beheading was
done after the fact. Or perhaps the killing was done by the minions of
a wizard while the wizard looked on. All possibilities.

| I liked the explanation of why old fashioned firearms were being used. However, a modern shotgun would probably take silver pellets okay and something like the Street Sweeper might be handy. |

| Thanks for the head's up! I probably won't go back and alter the
chapter, mostly because having shotguns would defeat the purpose of the
old guns (save perhaps the musket, for a long ranged attack), and
Maxwell and old guns go together in my head at this point. I'm
very grateful you told me though; as a writer I always strive to get my
facts straight and this is something I'm sure to remember for future
stories.

Wow, gross. I like using the vampires and Inferi, if not the muggle weapons. Poor, Harry, I found it so sad that he has to be exposed but Ron and Hermione get protected. Very like him, though. I also like that you went back to Albania.
I was just wondering....I was a little disappointed in Harry's lack of reaction to seeing James and Lily's tomb. Once he has a chance to lie down whenever this day ends, will be get a chance to see any of his inner thoughts about the experience? |

Yeah, I hadn't planned on things being quite this graphic, but tell
that to my Muse while I'm writing. More vampires on the way. I'm having
great fun researching Albanian and Bulgarian folklore.
He'll have a lot to reflect over once he has a chance to rest, yes. One
of the themes I'm working with, thoug, is there being very few chances
to rest for him...at least not while abroad. I think we'll see more of
him reflecting on things once they get back to England.
