Hi,
I can't believe I never noticed these before!
I love all three, so far, so please consider this as a review for each one...
I love the characters' complicated way of thinking and how they try to deceive themselves (I think they do, anyway).
My favourite sentences:
"There were dozens, hundreds, of good reasons to do it."
Great beginning.
"There would be no more meetings of the Slug Club."
Loved the fatalistic soound of that.
"The public deserves to hear the truth, even in matters as mundane as Quidditch."
Simply hilarious. You already did a wonderful job with Luna in Scrolls of Parchment, but her father... And the ending was great, too. Oh God. I'm imagining him going down the falls right now... |

Thanks so much for your review, Evelyn, I'm glad you enjoyed them! These started out as a little bit of fun I had for myself but my dear beta Tante kindly put them up here for all to see. I was a bit hestitant about them (especially Harry's and Slughorn's - Mr Lovegood can get away with anything!) because I was experimenting a bit with their thougths and didn't know if they'd come across in character. But they were little ideas that wouldn't leave me alone so I wrote them down.
For anyone else reading this - the Perch (forum) now has the HP-related Drabbles topic in the Wings subforum (started since these were posted) where anyone can post a little drabble in the HP world. Go there and read lots of good ones (including Evelyn's) and post your own! |
