I nearly cried! It was so sad. I liked the part when Ron started to cry, it really showed how much he cared for Harry.

Wow! This was a really moving story. Thanks for writing it. As things have slowed down some I am going back and reading some stories that were written long ago. this was very well done. I'm glad you took the time. p

That made me cry too. This will be shorter then the review in Legend, but still, not a sentence long. Clearly

I loved it, but I still think that the reunion was kind of like a regular conversation at some parts, except for the "You've got to let me go part." I dunno, I guess I would have liked more angst

But still, I loved it. Keep the wonderful stories coming!

Oh.

*wipes away tears*

As I said in my other review: I hate Harry dying stories. Really, really hate them. But this was....it was sad and funny and just so true to the characters. Especially to Harry, whose foremost quality is his bravery and willingness to sacrifice himself for others. It was encapsulated in the line where he told Ginny that saving her from the Chamber was the best thing he'd ever done.

And so Hermione, too, to find this spell.

But I think the best line was the one about Ron feeling like he'd changed back to himself; the imagery was just perfect. Brilliant. Keep writing.

I never read fics where Harry dies too, but this was very well-done anyway. Good work!

aww...

very sad story...

though the emotions seemed a bit muted during their meeting with Harry's echo...i dunno...mebbe i was just expecting more corny melodrama...

haha.

well done, and two thumbs up!!

Thanks for the thumbs!  I like a good corny melodrama too, but I'm not good at writing them (not intentionally, anyway :)

Aw how dare you make a story so sad. *sob* Aww you made my eyes water. And I have to tell you thats really quite difficult to do, these Harry dead stories accomplish it pretty well though. Really nice. Aww Harry so sweet even after death. Poor Ginny, I hope she's ok now.

Sorry about the eyes, but I promise Ginny will be OK. :)(Story in the works.)  Thanks for the review!

Wow.   That was an incredible bit of writing.  You actually made a good story out of Harry's death - they're generally either sappy-sweet or just depressing.  This was touching, original, and enjoyable.  Thanks.

I appreciate that very much. I hadn't tried writing this kind of story before, and it is hard to avoid falling into melodrama. I certainly wouldn't claim I had fully succeeded, but I'm glad the story succeeded at least well enough to do something for you.

*bawls* That was so *lovely*! The perfect mix of love and grief and revenge and gallow's-humour...

Thank you very much!  I'm glad the mix of ingredients suited your reading palate. (I was hoping the bits of dark humor would help keep it from being too cloying.)

This was beautiful and happy and mournful and terribly, terribly sad all at once.

Well done. I loved it.

Thank you very much.  That's the exact mixture I was hoping for, of course, though ideally it would be "beautiful and mournful and sad and happy" in that order. :)

... Wow. That was great! It was so sad and horrible, but great too! You should write another chapter that's like them finally meeting again (in 100 years, of course). Not enough people who do death scenes end it with them meeting again in heaven or limbo or some cloudy place with wings and harps or whatever, but I love it when they do! So, yes. I'm demanding you. You must obey..... or not, but anyway, great job with it. Fantastico! ^^

Thanks!  I think Bart (I Will Be Waiting) has been assigned the extradimensional beat, so I'd better not encroach on his territory. :-)

Wow, that was amazing. At first, I didnt realize that Harry was dead, and so when everything fell into place (the whole "Don't be early"thing), I was tearing up. Very well done!

Thank you! I was hoping that things would remain somewhat mysterious at least until the reference to Priori Incantatem at 'the graveyard at Little Hangleton.'

Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed this. Well, not the whole "Harry's dead!" thing, but the rest of it was a lovely read.

Man, I am a mess!  A sobbing, heaving mess of blubberiness.  I wanted to go down the stairs for lunch - but couldn't because I didn't want to alarm my family.  So instead I cleaned the bathroom to distract myself.  And it was about to work - only then, as I was scrubbing the toilet, I had the thought - how tempting it must be to talk to him for Ginny, Ron and Hermione.  Going on with their lives and having this means to share with him if they wanted.  And how hard it must be not to because of their promise.  And I am a bawling mess again.

Normally I don't enjoy stories that kill the characters - for reasons entirely my own having to do with my determination for them all to live happily ever after.  But this one really touched me and I had to let you know that.  I think it's the fantasy we all have about getting to talk to people and say goodbye properly - and the reality of how hard that would actually be.  Plue the idea of also having to let go and move on even if you did have the means to hold on.  And I'm crying again.

OH!  And I also really enjoyed Harry's rather healthy attitude about being dead - from the bigger emotional aspects right down to the smaller ones - like his fantasy of laughing his bottom off, complete with soundtrack, at Tom.

Thanks very much; I'm very flattered to have touched a chord.  I do share your preference for keeping everybody around, but this idea grabbed me.  I'm glad you liked the 'soundtrack' idea; I pictured Tom getting on the ferry, as in Greek mythology, only to find that Harry was his singing gondolier.

Well-written, though the part with Tom in it was a little ... strained, I suppose.  But I can't help but hope that Harry survives to share a long life with Ginny, enjoying being a part of a large and growing family -- and contributing to that growth.  :-)  Within reason, that is.  :-}

Thanks! Perhaps Tom brings out the grandiose and bombastic in me.  Another sin he will have to pay for. :-)

Great job with this one.  I'm sorry that Harry had died, but I like the way you wrote it.
