| Poor Harry. He finally realizes he likes Ginny only to have Hermione tell him he will have to work at it. He is going to have to tell her something about his feelings knowing that she is looking at someone else. I look forward to more of this story. p |

'There are three bequests dividing the estate among your parents, Peter and me' -- to me this more fitting than canon in some ways (Sirius' will is so conveniently found; though Sirius may well have made a new will because of the war, I think it more likely there would be an older, pre-Azkaban will)
Interesting discussion between Harry and Hermione about Ginny . So how is Harry going to get Ginny away from Dean?

| I still had a little hope that Ginny's going for Dean was a clever ploy to draw Harry out, but obviously not. I've read quite a number of stories, but it always feels like a punch in the guts when she does that. - Apart from that: "Clever girl, that Hermione." |

| It wasn't a ploy - for the simply reason I wanted to give Ginny a story where for her, it wasn't always all about Harry. It's still a lot about Harry, but not entirely. And yes, she is clever - and I was so happy to see Hermione's relationship advice accuracy being referenced in HBP - I thought she did a very good job in OoTP. |

| Thank you, thank you! Making sure I have Harry right is the most important thing to me, so I love hearing feedback on that. There was a bit of a kerfuffle with the story yesterday. The admins noticed it and had to remove the chapter. I was out for the night and completely unawares - so it's kinda awesome that it was cleared up. However, they needed a new version of the finished chapter - and I wasn't here to give it to them. But it's sent out now, so hopefully it will be up soon. |

| Another great chapter!!!! I'm really enjoying your story so far. I really enjoyed the talk between Harry and Hermione, I love the fact that she knows hom so well. She would definitely be the first person to notice his feelings for Ginny. I can't wait for the next chapter. |

| Thank you! And yeah, hee hee - I was extrememly happy to see Hermione giving him knowing looks in HBP. I got that one right! Woot! Of course I biffed the idea of having him actually talk to her about it - though in my defense, Hermione, here, was little more confrontational about the whole thing. |

Thank you very much! You'll find out exactly how much of a contender Dean is by the next chapter. And happily it turns out I went for something a lot different than HBP.
The line I think you're looking for is this one: "He wasn't sure why exactly, but Harry felt very strongly about not talking to Lupin. It wasn't that he was angry with him. It was just that, somehow, any further relationship between the two of them seemed like a very bad idea. Every time Harry had seen Lupin around the house he had been overcome with such anxiety that it made him feel sick."
I am not being entirely straightforward because the story is from Harry's pov and he doesn't exacly understand why he feels like he does at this point - he is just working on gut instinct. And what it comes down to is he is protecting himself from becoming attached to another father figure who could possibly leave him alone again. It gets addressed far more directly in a later chapter - when Lupin shows up again and has a chat with Harry about grief and taking risks on relationships.

This chapter was wonderful! Brilliantly written - I love the part about Fred and George throwing a party for Ginny because she didn't make Prefect. That was perfect! I wish I had thought of that one. I also love the back and forth between Harry and Hermione. I just wish Harry would have given her a harder time about it! |

Thank you! It's funny - the only reason that bit is there is because I felt I HAD to address the prefect issue, and then it didn't come up at all in HBP. At least it gave Fred and George a moment. They show up a bit more in the sequel - with actual lines even. Thrilled to hear you enjoyed the Harry/Hermione dynamic - they have a couple more pow wows like this one before the story is done. Though I think this is the hardest time Harry gives her at all - so sorry about that. |
