Harry Potter and the Grand Alliance
HaHA!!!! That was a BRILLIANT note to end on. Hysterical. That's great. I've never seen Ron portrayed like this, but it makes a lot of sense. Once he figured he liked Hermione, he would be rather blunt about it. He's not the subtlest guy in the universe. Very cute. I also like how the Quidditch team isn't automatically good. Great chapter...

Oh, almost forgot. I LOVE the mysterious new professor. Very different, which makes him VERY interesting...and his general lack of distinguishing features (other than his teaching style) make it hard to decide where he stands...making him even MORE interesting. Yay!!! I also love how much more martial-sounding the American posts are than some of the British ones in the books.

Dorfomt is an American because I decided to follow Rule 1 of writing - write what you know. I've never met a British special ops type, and Dorfomt's background had to be special ops. Since I have known a number of American special ops types... shrug. He's based very closely on several people I know, which gives me a real edge when writing him.

I like the new professor.  Teach them to become dangerous.  I'm not to far into this fic yet, but I think I like your attitude.  It is rediculous to fight a war with the 'only take prisoners' attitude of some authors.  The gun battle in Diagon Alley a few chapters back was really cool.  I hope we are going to find out that Dumbledore set up a special forces unit that uses muggle fire arms.

Good to see Ginny and Harry moving towards each other, and Ron is getting some semblence of a clue.  Are you going to tell us why Ginny broke up with Dean?  Was she making herself available?  Had she decided that she liked sitting with Harry at night and holding his hand to comfort him and was going to find out the truth one way or the other?

I think my attitude can best be summed up that "war should never be your first answer. It should also never be your last." Killing people is something I prefer to avoid (I'm a medic, after all!), but as I see it, sometimes that is the best answer.

Oh good.  We get to do the Ron and Hermione romance too.  I love it when it gets shippy, especially if it's HG and RH.

R/H and H/G seem like complimentary ships to me; but then I'm a hopeless romantic.
