Interesting piece. I guess Malfoy and Pansy are giving each other the hell they deserve. But what is this about him cursing Harry ? Was that in the 'final battle' or a sneak attack (perhaps that's why he's not in Azkaban)? And if he cursed Harry, why isn't he dead?

This was completely different from anything else I've ever tried to write and not exactly everyone's cup of tea (including mine, in a way! I'm not a D/P fan), so thank you for reading. I wrote it for a Christmas challenge on Livejournal last year and my bad mood turned intended H/G fluff into this! If Draco survives book 7, this is sort of the way I think he'd end up, very bitter. He's actually quite a sad character. And he and Pansy probably do deserve each other here! You're right, he should probably be in Azkaban at the least, but I assume he found some slippery way to avoid charges. And as to why he wasn't cursed back, I imagine he got Harry from behind, since that seems more his style. He probably thinks he owes him something for the bathroom attack in book 6. Thanks again for reading and commenting!

Uargh! Charming!! - No, really, well done. As bleak as bleakness gets.

Can you feel the Christmas spirit, lol?

It really was meant to be H/G Christmas fluff. But, in my bad mood, I identified a lot more with Draco and Pansy!

Haha, this one was amazing. I loved how you veered away from Harry, Ron, and Hermione and focused on someone else. Excellent story!

I love reading non-trio stories sometimes; a lot of the other characters in HP are really well-developed in the books and just get ignored in canon.

Having said that, hee, I meant to write H/G Christmas fluff. I really did. But I was in a bad mood at the time and this came out instead.

Thanks for reading! I'm so glad you liked it!

If this is warm and fuzzy I'd hate to think what cold and cruel would be!  I have no sympathy for Draco and only slightly more for Pansy...the angel, however, gets my full commiseration since she didn't do anything to incur Draco's wrath.  I had to laugh, though, at the suddenly animated snowman.  That was a great way to get those kids into the house...hee, hee, hee!

I think a lot of parents at the end of their tether would evilly give that a try if they could, lol. It's the sort of thing I could imagine Draco doing - vindictive and mean-spirited, but just a tiny bit pathetic! No, I don't have a lot of sympathy for him either, or for Pansy. They really do deserve each other!

Ho-ley mackerole. What a piece of work. Wow. No, really wow. This is so dark.... *Shakes head* Really brilliant, starting the piece off with the tranquil, cutesy scenario of a house around Christmastime.

Oh, dearie me, I love this. :) Really, really do. I just... I love the characterizations. I love how unexpectedly chilling everything is. I love how you fit so much detail and emotion and cruelty in such a short story. I really, really love this. ;)

Thank you for all the nice comments!  They really improved my day when I read them. It is pretty dark. Considering that I usually like fluffy and sweet. Or angsty. I just saw Draco and Pansy as one of the couples listed for the challenge and decided to give it a try! Not sure it'll be happening again though, hee.

Gracious, and to think, I actually believed you when I read the "warm and fuzzy" bit on the story summary. But really well done - I especially enjoyed the beginning with the snowman. And was there a little hint of D/G present in Draco's frozen self after he hears about Harry and Ginny getting married? Hmm...interesting. But I really liked it. I can't wait for more Christmas stories!

P.S.: I read the comment by another reader about your user name being from the grand world of Tortall - I was SUCH a huge fan of those books, seriously. I never met anyone in this fandom who was a fan, either! Anyway, excellent books, I was totally a Daine/Numair advocate as well.

I'm not sure I want to imagine what an actual "warm and fuzzy" Christmas for Draco and Pansy would be like, lol. It's probably too sickening to contemplate. And, yes, hee, that was a tiny hint of D/G. I can see it being plausible as a one-sided thing - I don't think Ginny would ever return any warm, fuzzy feelings though! (There'd probably be bat bogey hexes all around if anyone suggested it.)

I still love the Tamora Pierce books, and Daine/Numair is my favourite couple in that fandom. But you're right, I've never found much crossover between HP fans and TP fans.

Thanks for the lovely comments! I can't wait for more Christmas stories, either.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer couple.

Nice portrayal of both Draco and Pansy--and a lovely non-standard holiday fic!

Thank you!  It was a bit different for me, that's for sure. I never, ever thought I'd be writing a D/P fic.

Looking forward to the rest of the holiday fics - bring on the H/G fluff!

'Warm and fuzzy Christmas Eve'...you have a sad sense of humor.

Side note--would your username be connected to Daine Sarrasri?

Monday 12th December 2005 16:39Christmas Angels (Author Response)

Can't deny it's a bit twisted, lol (the fic and my sense of humour). I swear that I really am looking forward to reading the fluffy Christmas fics. I just wasn't in the mood to write one.

And, yes it is. I think you're the first person in this fandom to mention that. I started out in the Tamora Pierce fandom, with Daine/Numair fics. I'm still a big fan of them.

Snigger.  Oh, I hope JKR hears this Christmas wish.  Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, and a Christmas wedding for Harry and Ginny sounds perfect.

I LOVED Malfoy tormenting the kids across the street with their own snowman.  How like him!  Nicely done.

Thanks, Melinda!  This was partly the product of sleep deprivation and subsequent grumpiness. I also couldn't bring myself to write Draco/Pansy fluff. The canon scene where she runs her fingers through his hair was bad enough, lol.

I'm looking forward to the fluffier Christmas fics - secretly hoping for one from you, actually! (insert nice unsubtle hint there).

Chilling. Draco has nothing left but his hatred and mangled pride.
Monday 12th December 2005 02:24Christmas Angels (Author Response)

I agree with one of the comments above - I somehow think that Draco might only end up with just that. He's awful in the books, but he's a pretty sad character, in a way.

Thanks for reading!  And Merry Christmas!
